Skydiving soon - Anyone share an experience????

Recommended Posts

I miss the ocean and I'm bored of looking at the bottom of mountains, so this is quite Obviously the logical path.

Anyways, I'm a bit curious for any experiences or stories anyone would be willing to share.

What was the elevation?

How much of a thrill was it, should I include party favors?

Did you shit your pants? How warm was it that far up?

Did somebody have to push you, did you do it twice - were you pushed twice..???

I always wanted to do it. I know ppl who have done it,  temperature won't matter bcz you will be freaking scared and heart bit at maximum. Bring extra pants ... (don't drink bcz it will ruin the experience).

But seriously now, all of them say it is awesome.

EDIT: oh, and you won't need to be pushed, you won't jump alone but strapped to the instructor.

Haha Hill, I'm not gonna be jumping outta a birds ass :D.

Almeida haha cool.

I guess I'll find out what requirements I'd have to meet to be able to go alone)))

I'm already anticipating it, I just need to find out where to go for it I guess.

Seriously looking forward to the adrenaline rush!

(I wouldn't consider it if it weren't wayyyy safer than driving a car though....well maybe not who knows)

It is safer than driving a car, indeed. But, are you sure you can jump alone as a first timer? That would be crazy and I'm not sure whether they allow you to do it. I'd recommend you to do it with an instructor first to feel the pressure !!! Just in case (and bcz I like you leading realisms hahaahahah)

I did it years ago in Canada (from Simon Fraser University I believe). I was strapped to a 7-foot French Canadian guy who picked ME up with one hand. He was a BEAST! We were meant to have half an hour of instruction beforehand but it was condensed to five minutes, the gist of which being 'arch your back when we say and pretend you're a banana and don't put your feet down on landing or you will break both ankles.' The last song on the radio before takeoff was 'Staying Alive' by The Bee Gees. I was last out of the plane and remember my friend looking like he was sucked out of the jumping hatch sideways. Our other friend chickened out on the morning of the jump and insisted he didn't 'have enough money'. We never stopped ripping the piss out of him for that. We got incredibly wrecked the night before in Vancouver, something I really regretted in the morning. My sister did one in Australia and stayed awake all night getting drunk with her friend who was petrified of jumping. Their plane caught fire before they took off so they had to wait six hours for another plane in which time they sobered up and had to endure a horrible hangover during the jump. The feeling of rushing upwards very fast when the chute is released is AMAZING. Have fun Helm, I would do it again in a heartbeat.

some advice.  Keep your mouth shut during the freefall.  You will be traveling at 100 MPH.  When the chute does deploy, you will feel like your balls are pushed up into your throat.  Don't eat a big meal before or get drunk the night before.  The instructors don't like getting puked on.

Hill!! haha...Fuck I didn't even think about that!!(Meal , getting drunk before, and I think a bug at that speed wouldn't qualify as 'Fast Food' Really =/) Thanks man

Almeida-Yah I think there are basically zero options to doing it by myself until I do it a couple times prior.

I really feel uncomfortable being that physically close to somebody Gawd I hope It could at least be a woman I really don't want somebody's adrenaline boner poking my pants    -____-

Ripley- Thanks for the description hahaha that was awesome, I'm sure I'll be nervous as hell but I'll just remind myself tons of people have done it sooooooo goooo :D
