So I just got home from Best Buy, where I purchased the RAT 7. I haven't tested it out yet, but the first thing I did was fit it to my hand. I've gotta say, having owned Razer, Logitech, and Microsoft gaming mice, this one just feels ... right I guess is the best way to put it. The buttons are right where they should be, and at the same time not in the way. I swear Quasimodo could make this mouse fit to his hand, it's adjustable in just about any direction you can imagine. Will give a better review once I've gamed with it but so far, for $79.99 at Best Buy, this is a great purchase.

All in one IM
Ford 1st MRB replied to Yamagata 1st MRB's question in Hardware Guides & Maintenance Questions
Have you looked at Raptr? It's targeted towards gamers, allowing you to link up your account with things like xBox live and the like, get news feeds to your styles of games, IM integration with pretty much all other IM programs, etc. You guys should check it out. Once you create an account on the website and setup your profile, download the client (the IM thingy) and sign in. I like that from within the IM you can launch, from the looks of it, any game on your computer, even ventrilo. It also shows you what games your friends are currently playing, even if it is a non-steam games like League of Legends. Yes, it has LoL support for all you die-hards out there. I have made ummm... 3 different posts about new computer builds, and have yet to follow through on them. I made that list on the 7th, and so far it hasn't changed. By November when I get my bonus check it may be different as prices on SSD drives drop closer to the holidays I might opt for larger ones. I have between now and then to decide if I want to go for swapping video cards too.

For those looking for something off the beaten path, I present to you the mouse to end all mice, or something. The Rat 7 This thing is amazing, and after reading some reviews on it in PC Gamer tonight at work I've gotta say, I might be buying one. It's not too expensive either. I think the coolest thing on it is the "Sniper" button. for anyone who plays at a high DPI, you know sniping can be a pain sometimes and cause you to lower your DPI. This button, is like holding your breath to steady your shot. It lowers your DPI to a setting you choose while the button is depressed, then returns your DPI to it's normal setting. Add to that it's fully customizable, it looks insanely cool, and it has buttons for just about anything, unless you choose to remove them. Purely awesome.

Razer, Logitech, Microsoft, they all make good gaming mice. It's really all personal preference. A Razer might feel weird to you while it is sworn by to someone else. Best advice is don't buy one until you have it in your hand. Best Buy has a pretty wide selection, including Razer, and you can see if the mouse feels right before you buy it. I'm using a Logitech MX 518 and have been for a few years now. On the fly DPI adjustments, etc etc.. I am however about to get the new 2012 Imperator after playing around with it at Best Buy. Honestly, a better mousepad will give you more control than two different high end mice will. I use a Razer Vespula Mouse pad and I love it. Oh, and Goodwin, that's just not the truth, sorry. It's all about DPI or Dots Per Inch. This is basically how far you have to move your mouse versus how far it moves your pointer across your monitor. At 5600 DPI, you move your mouse 1 inch and it moves 5600 pixels on your monitor. This makes a HUGE difference vs say 1600 DPI. Most non gaming grade mice are around 800 DPI if I recall correctly. Now say you are playing at a higher resolution, like me. I play at 1920 x 1280. At 800DPI I would have to move my mouse 2 and a half inches to move from one side of the screen to the other. At 5600 DPI I would move only a fraction of an inch. This makes all the world of a difference in twitch shots, rambo-ing, snap shots, you name it. There is a reason you don't see world class gamers using a 10 dollar mouse from Wal-Mart.

That PSU is kinda scary low on power. Hopefully it won't be an issue. And yeah Yama, those are a great start. I made a list on newegg of my update parts for when I get my bonus check in November. Here it is. That is all going in my Cooler Master HAF-X case, and I already have a GTX 590, but I may try and sell it and get two GTX 580's after reading Dillon's post about video cards.

So if no one who needs a QB picks up Cam Newton after he showed what he is capable of you're an idiot. Add to that he is going to get the start from here on out and he has some great targets to throw to, like Steve Smith, and you get a pretty effective point machine for your team.

It has to do with server lag between players. When one player lags, it will create this error for some other players until the server can figure out where the other player is. Nothing to be worried about.

Good Job San Diego....... Tolbert scores 3 TD's, and instead of resting him, you send him in to run down the clock and he gets injured. FUCK!!!!!!

So I planned out a dinner tonight for me and the missus. Some of you may be familiar with Wild Wing Cafe, if you are from near my area. Well they used to have a sandwich called The Ultimate Chicken. Sadly, they took it off their menu, but since I know one of the cooks, he gave me the inside scoop on how they prepared it. It's basically a grilled chicken breast, basted in your preference of bbq sauce, covered with shaved ham, then smothered with melted monterey jack cheese. I opted to make it tonight, not as a sandwich, but as a breast with side dishes. So I fired up the grill, grilled the breasts on a low heat for 45 minutes. (A little trick I learned from a buddy of mine btw for when you are grilling chicken. Wrap a brick in aluminum foil and place the brick on top of the chicken breast. It makes it cook evenly throughout, leaving a crispy crust and is very juicy inside.) Just before removing them from the grill, baste the breasts in your favorite bbq sauce. I used Sticky Fingers Carolina Sweet. Not sure if this can be bought in your local stores but it is a damn good bbq sauce. Let the breasts cook for an additional 2 - 3 minutes with the sauce on them, then add the shaved ham and monterey jack cheese and continue cooking until cheese begins to melt. Remove from the grill and be prepared to taste a truly amazing flavor combination. I was very happy with the way mine turned out tonight. This can be served with a variety of side dishes. I opted for baked potatoes and asparagus. I hope you guys try this and enjoy it as much as we did tonight.

A new way to look at GPU's - pretty in-depth

Very interesting! I may consider dropping this 590 for a 580 sli setup after reading through that. -
