  1. The following is taken directly from an actual 1950 Home Economics textbook. It was part of a course intended to prepare girls for life after high school. Have Dinner Ready: "Plan ahead, even the night before, to have a delicious meal --- on time. This is a way of letting him know that you have been thinking about him and are concerned about his needs. Most men are hungry when they come home and the prospect of a good meal are part of the warm welcome needed." Prepare Yourself: "Take 15 minutes to rest so you will be refreshed when he arrives. Touch up your makeup, put a ribbon in your hair and be fresh-looking. He has just been with alot of work-weary people. Be a little gay and a little more interesting. His boring day may need a lift" Clear Away The Clutter: "Make one last trip through the main part of the house just before your husband arrives, gathering up school books, toys, paper, etc. Then run a dust cloth over the tables. Your husband will feel he has reached a haven of rest and order, and it will give you a lift, too." Prepare The Children: "Take a few minutes to wash the children's hands and faces (if they are small) comb their hair, and if necessary, change their clothes. They are little treasures and he would like to see them playing the part." Minimize All Noise: "At the time of his arrival, eliminate all noise of washer, dryer, dishwasher or vacuum. Try to encourage the children to be quiet. Be happy to see him: Greet him with a warm smile and be glad to see him." Some Do's And Don'ts: "Don't greet him with problems or complaints. Don't complain if he's late for dinner. Count this as minor compared with what he may have gone through that day." Make Him Comfortable: "Have him lean back in a comfortable chair or suggest he lie down in the bedroom. Have a cool or warm drink ready for him. Arrange his pillow and offer to take off his shoes. Speak in a low, soft, soothing and pleasant voice. Allow him to relax, unwind." Listen To Him: "You may have a dozen things to tell him, but the moment of his arrival is not the time or place for it. Let him talk first." Make The Evening His: "Never complain if he does not take you out to dinner or to other places of entertainment. Instead, try to understand his world of strain and pressure, his need to be home and relax." Man the times have changed. All my ex did was bitch and complain and never even cooked for me.
  2. Well to sort of answer your question: According to Forbes 100 Highest Paid Athletes, The top 10 has 2 golfers, 1 boxer, 1 soccer (futbol) player, 3 basketball players, and 3 racecar drivers. Tiger woods is Number 1 with an annual earning of 110 million, more than the amount number 2 and 3 on the list make combined. That's not an actually salary per say, but Id say it's damn well better than what Eli Manning is earning. The Top Ten in anual earnings including endorsements looks like this: #1. Tiger Woods - 110 Million #2. Kobe Bryant - 45 Million #3. Micheal Jordan - 45 Million #4. Kimi Raikkonen - 45 Million #5. David Beckham - 42 Million #6. LeBron James - 40 Million #7. Phil Mickelson - 40 Million #8. Manny Pacquiao - 40 Million #9. Valentino Rossi - 35 Million #10. Dale Earnhardt Jr. - 34 Million
  3. Got Vista re-installed, seems to be working. Updating Windows atm, only 103 updates to download, then 2 service packs, then steam, then all my drivers, then all my games. Yeeehawww
  4. Oh I should mention. I tried a system restore but when I launched System Restore it told me: System Restore seems to not be functioning correctly on this system. So I just connected my external hard drive, and while I wait for it to recognize I plugged it in (been 8 minutes already) I'm just typing this to let you guys know I'm doing a full wipe, installing Windows on a different HD and taking my main drive out to see if it is the cause. Well my icon just popped up saying my external drive is plugged in, so I'm gonna back up all my important shit, then get to work on a fun project. Wish me luck.
  5. So there was a pretty bad electrical storm today. When I got home my computer was off, but I usually leave it in sleep mode which means it lost power sometime during the storm. It's plugged into a surge protector as well as my modem, and my cable line runs through a surge protector on it's way to the modem. When I restarted it, it did a disk check to make sure my HD's where in working order. During the check it deleted 5 files, but I couldn't tell you which ones it deleted. Afer it finished it restarted my PC. It normally takes about 2 minutes from cold boot to desktop and all programs being fully loaded, this time it took about 30 minutes just to get to my desktop, and I don't really even know if it's done yet loading all my programs. At the moment, it says my network is offline, even though I'm online typing this. My headphones say they are working, but in vent it says: Failed to open input device, it may be in use by another program. rc = -10. So I can't talk or hear anything. Anything I try and launch from my desktop takes atleast 10 - 15 minutes to load. I tried restarting twice, to no luck. Same issues as before. I tried opening my task manager to see what all was running, but apart from my normal services, there is nothing fishy. Nothing is using memory or cpu that shouldn't be and my cpu is only running at 2% and I'm using about 1.5 megs of the 8 total megs of memory I have. I tried going to my control panel to delete the last thing I installed, thinking maybe it had something to do with this. The only thing I see under installed programs is adobe products. Nothing else. I am at a loss as what to do other than a full re-install of windows, but I really don't want to do all that again. Any ideas?
  6. Thank you for posting this. Capt. Parker has already responded.
  7. It's because your dvi - vga adapter is loose.
  8. Is someone too loud? Is someone too quiet? I'm here to help you! How to set everyone to the same volume Vent Normalization makes everyones voice the exact same volume. In essence, you won't blow your ears out or have difficulty hearing people. ____________________ Here's how: 1.Go to Setup 2.Enable Direct Sound 3.Select the SFX Button 4.Select Compressor and click Add. 5.Under Compressor Properties use the following settings Gain = Adjust for how loud you want people to be. (I use 14) Attack = 0.01 Release = Around 500 Threshold = Around -30 Ratio = 100 Pre delay = 4.0 Screenshot to show what I mean:
  9. Support and Rifleman, noticed the turned up collars on the support. http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii312/A...orza_b30000.jpg Sniper and Riflemen: http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii312/A...orza_b30001.jpg Download here Also skins for allies and a british/canadian set there too. Pretty neat small things that set these apart, like the american mg's chin strap is undone, ranks and even nametags on some of the models, pistol holsters, canteens, shovels, all moved, changed or edited in some way or another. Gloves on most models, greasepaint and dirty faces, each model also has distinguishable differences in the face structure. Also hair styles are different for each model when missing a helmet. The axis sniper also has the upturned collar. I didn't make these btw, just the new ones I'm using.

  14. Here is a sceenshot of my desktop now. Only about half the actual size because I had to scale it to fit the forums: BTW, this program is kind of heavy on memory and graphics, although it doesn't affect gameplay, just while your messing around inside it. If you do notice any lag in games, just close the program I guess, or get a better computer.
  15. But for now.... Click Here!! Watch the video at the top, then download the free version and be amazed.... Once you get used to it, which doesn't take long.... Go Here!! to download other themes.
  16. It is still a work in progress. Yes if he gets this to work, it will be an Allied Sherman and an Axis Tiger. He is working out the hitboxes to see what works best for how to destroy the tank. This will only be on maps that have the tanks built into the map, it's not a mod, it's a map model that can be used by mappers. If this goes through, and I really hope it does, I would be able to say, open Donner, add the tanks to both teams, and have tank battles on Donner. Just an example, I wouldn't be able to use Donner because that would make valve unhappy. I would however make a map that implemented this. For example, The allies are trying to push deeper into axis territory, the only way they can do so is to escort their sherman deep enough into axis territory for it to destroy a set of walls that are blocking them from the objectives. You can create walls in hammer editor that only break from certain types of damage, be it rockets, tnt, nades, etc... these tanks have their own damage scale, say 1000 damge per shot. No other weapon in the game has that amount of damage capabilities so the only way to destroy the wall would be escort your tank to the proper place. Like I said, if, and I need to stress the if part, he gets this working, it opens up a whole new set of possibilities for dod:s. BTW, dod_flash_tiger is an example of what could be done. In that map the axis need to escort a tank to allied spawn and once it reaches the alied spawn it fires a shot that destroys a barrier to let the axis win. You can't control this tank however and it only ,moves when you clear the path ahead of it with tnt. Imagine that, but being able to drive the tank anywhere you want and shoot it at will.
