  1. Blackhawks had some bad luck... otherwise I would've said them. They did pretty good considering they traded most of their whole damn team!
  2. OMG! I just laughed out loud at work, so hard that someone asked what was so funny.... those nights still make me giggle!!! That place is crazy with all sorts of forms and abilities these days. "SUPERMAN IS ON THE JOB!" lmfao!
  3. I guess I should add... I don't run anti-virus/malware software on my PC's. On the fiancee's machine? Yes. Mine? No. None of them. Dangerous? I don't think so. In the (closing on) 15 years I've been online... I've had I think 3 viruses - ever (although the first was spyware IIRC). I will occasionally (every couple years) bust out and scan my PC's with Avast, or Malware Bytes or something, and I always come up clean. I firmly believe that if you arm yourself with the right knowledge, and play it smart from there on out, you'll be okay. It seems most don't and allow themselves to be duped into things. That's why I have to go over to one buddies house at least once every 3 months and have to format/reinstall for him because him and his wife get the same virus every time - despite my warnings and advice. Don't click ads, don't follow link trails that take you from the site you're surfing, watch the file sizes of images ANYONE sends to you (sub-seven, netbus, all those programs used to have a very small .exe that you could embed in an image that allowed a port to open up on their machine for remote access... don't ask how I know, just trust that I do.) All that babble said - I sure hope Apple starts getting hammered with virus' - I'm sick of their fan boi's claiming that 'we don't get virus' crap!
  4. Is that why they're the 'gold standard' for the design and video industry? While I hate/despise Apple, they don't completely suck at everything. They have their place, but they're also double the cost for the machine - so unless you're in one of those industries, yes, in general they do suck and your a sucker if you buy one.
  5. Upon closer examination - it was brought to my attention something I didn't realize before... This burn is bad enough that the back of my shoulders (and portions of my upper back) are now covered in small groups of blisters running from my spine out to the deltoid/outer-shoulder area. This burn is worse than I originally thought. The only other time I've had a sunburn that was nasty enough it blistered was when I was around 6 on my calf because I fell asleep on a beach in Florida with one leg hanging out from the shade of the umbrella. Oh well, the itch is gone for now and hopefully for good. I'll just keep an eye on it. Thanks again for the help/ideas guys... truly very appreciated.
  6. I've got this great idea... lets go on a road trip! We can drive down huge stretches of interstate with nothing but shredded tires on the side of the road!!!
  7. Farr, Magoo, thank you guys. I had to send the misses out. It was so bad aloe vera w/ lidocaine (although not recommended by you Farr) was the only thing that would even touch this damned burn (she got it before I saw your suggestion Magoo). I slammed down a couple benadryl too. To give some idea of the scale of insanity of this itch, I've broken my back, busted my jaw in 3 spots, broke my collarbone twice, and snapped my thumb so bad emergency surgery was necessary and I've never taken a pain pill; ever. In fact I haven't taken medication of any sort (tylenol, asprin, etc) since I was around 14. But this was beyond any broken bone I'd ever had. I was quite literally going insane with itch. I'm just glad to get some relief. I would never kill you Wells, now Engle on the other hand....
  8. i swear to God on my childrens lives if either of you were here right now I'd fucking kill you. But i'd still be itchy i'm fucking mierable
  9. ...unless someone tells me how to get sunburns to stop itching. if I itch it the burn still itches and is then also VERY painful. It doesn't cure it! I got a NASTY burn on my back from spending an entire day (with no sunscreen like an idiot) in the pool getting my lifeguard certification. It's been a couple days and while the major burning has subsided, it's been replaced with constant prickly itch that cannot be subdued. If you know a way to get rid of it - please post immediately. I'm seriously about 5 seconds from taking a filet knife to my own back to replace the itchiness with some pain. I have tried: Cold rag/towel draped across back, still itchy. Aloe lotion, still itchy. Need solutions!
  10. hAPPY bIRTHDAY!
  11. I understand the word 'retard' gets tossed around a lot on the internet, but the constant use of it there is offensive. If I wasn't already in the unit, as someone with a very mentally handicapped brother, I sure as fuck wouldn't enlist. ...word of the unit - RESPECT. That's not how to get people to enlist - that's how to turn people OFF from our server for good. ...sad.
  12. I have seen too much funny stuff. I have heard even more funny stuff... but Zachow and Wingate going at it used to be my favorite. Those guys would get on each others case so hard - I laughed all the time!
  13. Janke, I <3 you in my pants. Happy Birfday. If you're daring enough - I have birthday surprise just for you (don't tell anyone!)
  14. I believe I have muted/kicked/temp banned that person before, I'm almost 100% sure. I'll look into him being perma-banned. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. In the future Asmaro, please do as instructed earlier and make sure to post it using the proper form in the proper section of the forums.
  15. Yes, the problem is related to her HDMI. Her audio wants to go through her HDMI regardless of what drivers she has installed. Also when she installs the realtek drivers, it installs something like 2-4 of them. It's a bit peculiar.
  16. Classically trained in Psychology (bachelors degree), I'm also a USA Diving certified coach for the local park district swim/dive team. By day (full time) I do web development/graphic design for a small granite countertop shop (also was employed by the county to help with redoing their website as a contractor), I also dabble in a bit of programming by creating various little tools in Java & php. My last job I was a network administrator for a recycling plant with locations in 7 different states all along the east coast (our users had trouble figuring out that shutting off and turning on the monitor was not 'rebooting'), I was also the only help desk personnel they had.. I also worked in accounting for a number of years and dabbled in QA for the IT Department there. I also have a whole host of job experience in completely separate areas also. I've been around.
  17. Well, if your old roomie set it up, it could've been configured for a different thing all together, that could cause some issues. However, if AT&T gave you a modem with DHCP (modem/router in one) you could also be having some issues, as your router is trying to do the same thing as your modem and it's getting all funky. What kind of modem?
  18. I didn't realize that was so specific in the law. That's pretty surprising. I can understand why it's there though, and if it's outlined that way she should have been aware of it. Ignorance really isn't that great of an excuse in a case like this. That said, if some 18 yo girl tells you she's an adult - run! Because if she say's she's 18, she's probably not. 15 will get ya' 30!
  19. In HS I asked a teacher out on a date. I was 17 - it was my senior year and she was my whatever english class I took teacher. She was young (early 20's) and we hit it off quite well. We were into similar music and such, and I came across an extra ticket to see one of our favorite bands - so I asked her. She originally agreed and I was stoked! She backed out the day before the concert saying it just wouldn't be right and while it was an innocent thing just going to the concert she was afraid others might think otherwise and it could lead to issues. Looking back I was really let down, but I knew then as I do now, she did the right thing. When I graduated we talked a bit more but it never went anywhere. She was so cool! I think it's a tough call in some cases, I think in situations like this it really would be hard to call her 'guilty', especially if he was 18. I know, she was in a position of power but really he IS 18. He can make his own decisions, by every legal determination outside of gambling he's an adult and in charge of his own decisions. In the cases where the boys are 14, 15, 16, even 17 - I can understand those charges. But at 18 I think there has to be a rationalization that an adult, is an adult. I think it would've been better handled had she said 'wait until you graduate', because then there would be no issue at all. It was a lapse in judgement on her part for which I think the punishment in no way, shape or form fits the crime. Just my $.02

  21. .....youch. Good luck on the surgery... hope it went well - that looks nasty!
  22. I agree. Just go up and say hey. Worst that happens? She's not into you - oh well. I had quite a few girl-friends (not girlfriends) who I met by just starting up conversation - and I'm BAD at conversation. Just be relaxed, be yourself and if you're not feeling it don't be afraid or embarrassed to tell her 'thanks for the conversation' and move on. You'll know if it's clicking, and you'll know if it's not. But either way - go for it.
  23. http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=864679&mpage=1 Sounds like the same issue, they recommend turning off HD Audio in Bios? Not sure what that will do since you WANT to use the sound on your mobo. The last post the guy says to look in the Bios to see if the HD Audio is enabled. Basically what's going on here is that your PC has somehow told itself that the only way it's going to send the audio is via the HDMI cable. We've got to figure out a way so that it no longer thinks this way and registered the audio drivers appropriately.
  24. No arms, I seriously laughed so hard my kids woke up!
