  1. I amuses me to no end because during the Bears/Packers game - there were MULTIPLE bad calls - to the point the announcers watched the replay and were saying "that will be certainly be overturned because that's clearly the wrong call here", and those bad calls were never overturned (some of which are the reason Packers got points on the board). I'm not saying that's the only reason they lost (their O line was horrid); but it seemed to me that about 95% of the calls were against the Bears and the Packers (despite replays clearly showing their errors and everyone agreeing the calls were poor) could do no wrong. Not a single Packer fan mentioned that or cared about the replacement refs at all during that game. Now? Everyone is crying foul and complaining. Hilariously ironic.
  2. I read that as "enemy team went to bacon", and quit reading because I got hungry. I <3 you. I saved 3 keystrokes there and Mavis Beacon applauded loudly.
  3. The rest of him looks tiny! Richards looks much more 'all around' muscly. Same as me, except all my muscle has been amassed in my belly region.
  4. Oh man 40-man vanilla was SO awesome! I think a lot of what took the fun out of it too was all the mods. You had mods that basically made it impossible for you to make a mistake. You consistently know where your aggro is, the dps you're doing etc. When you have all those mods, it's like using game genie on nintendo - you know everything to make you basically a 'perfect player', and you are only playing a computer that has been pre-programmed with x,y and z things it will do. How people can NOT win in those situations I don't know. Then when you A) make the raids easier and bring down the amount of people/time/effort it takes to get it done? It's a walk in the park. I do miss Vanilla.
  5. They are trying to balance the wvwvw right now - while you should be playing the same servers for a couple weeks - right now they're switching servers daily in order to find a 'balance', so there isn't a single grouping where one server just owns everything in sight and the other two are useless. I dig they are doing that. I was a WoW player for a LONG time (somewhere around 3-4 years); I was a raider. On our server for WotLK our guild was 3rd in progression almost the entire life of the expansion - and we prided ourselves on being 'casual' and only raiding 2 days a week. Cataclysm was the nail in the coffin for me. The "new content" wasn't even "new", it was old shit just re-designed. They didn't even bother reskinning half the creatures like they do with the other expacs. And MoP? Don't get me started. WoW has become a childrens toy - when they started making the raids so easy and making super awesome gear available without virtually any work - I dipped out. I wanted a challenge and WoW failed to provide any at that point. The raids were a cake walk, if not borderline joke and you could afk in battlegrounds and get epic gear that was on par with raid gear. I won't be back for MoP, probably will never be back to WoW. Guild Wars however has me enjoying the actual game. I'm not sure what it is - but I am really just enjoying traveling around, hitting the group things and seeing the content of the game instead of "go here, grind until level x, then go there and grind until level x, then go here and do this quest chain and grind mobs until level x". The second I find myself getting bored of wandering around doing things in the game, I go do some WvWvW or do some PVP. Or, I go and do a little crafting or gathering. Plenty of little things to do that keep me from burning out. Then again, I'm not putting in 8 hour sessions either (which I did more than a few times with WoW); so perhaps that is helping my enjoyment of it. Lastly? Free to play. Yes, please. For what WoW was getting every month, there is absolutely zero excuse for how the expansions got worse, and worse, and worse... and now? MoP? Bottom of the barrel - absolutely zero originality. That game is on its way out. Will anything take it's place? Maybe not - but I feel that gamers are okay with spreading out into other things and pulling out of WoW for considerable lengths of time.
  6. What I like about this one - as opposed to any of the others - is that you can do all the fun stuff I enjoy (pvp) at any level. It automatically bumps you to the max level (80) when you're pvp'ing and ups your gear accordingly. So while you might not be the most decked out person, you can still have some fun. This has given me the ability to play the leveling portion of the game at my own pace and the way I want. I've been clearing zones in their entirety - which I have never done before in any MMO because I've always felt the 'rush to max level so you can see end game content' pressure. With this game, I don't feel that, and I love it!
  7. I'm on Tarnished Coast (as well as a few friends of mine) I've got a couple toons I play on - great game. Really well done. In comparison to the other online MMO-RPG's out there this one essentially took all the really crappy aspects of the other games, fixed them and sprinkled in guild wars specific goodies. I am really enjoying it - a lot.
  8. I could be wrong, but I believe that was originally created by someone on reddit. Odd to see the Ebaums tags on there.
  9. Sweet video! I dig it a lot - while there were lots of transitions, my personal opinion is that they were done in such a way that made for really good watching. I felt they helped take me from one place to another without making me realize it. Song selection was good too!
  10. Used to watch him as a kid on sick days and during the summer. Loved his work honestly - such an amazing painter. My Jr. year of college - I was in temporary housing on the other side of the campus in some old dorms. These dorms didn't have internet, so the lounge was actually regularly used. They had a TV in there and one day I walked in and the guys were chillin just watchin Bob Ross talking about art and stuff. It was a good time - we had to laugh at some of Bobs sayings but everyone respected his work. Crazy good.
  11. For what it's worth, I did have an incident last night with him in the pub - purposefully TW'ing people. I gave him a kick, he never came back.
  12. I'm with Legend. Unless it's a site I know and trust, I would never, ever, put my password down anywhere.
  13. My 5-guys story: First time having 5-guys? Washington DC. For $10 we got a huge entire bag filled will fries, I got a double cheeseburger with bacon and other toppings and my woman got herself a cheeseburger with some toppings. We had waters to drink. Not bad - $5 / piece and with the free peanuts & huge bag of fries, we actually had leftovers. I'm 6'6" and 265 lbs so I can put away some food. I was full. Then, they came to Chicago (about 35 minute drive)! We were stoked - affordable, big amounts of food, great burgers... we couldn't wait. We went to the first one that opened! It was about $20+ for both of us this time. We had a little 'tray' of fries and each had a double burger. We weren't full. The burgers were mediocre. We were crushed. Must be the location (shitty hood). Another opened up about 10 mins from our house - sweet! This one would surely be better. We went. Same inflated, super high prices, mediocre food and lack of any real 'filling'. The fries were once again far from 'a ton', but that small little tray. Another opened up in another town about 35 mins away in a different direction. I was at a clients that day and decided to try them. I paid $15 for JUST ME - for 1 burger, fries and a drink. I was NOT even CLOSE to full. The food was average at best. I'll never, ever go back to a 5-guys unless it's in the DC area. Other than that - they're shit.
  14. Upon further review and based on events in the past that caused problems in the server, the ban will remain in effect.
  15. I remember you mentioning some when we were in vent a while back. I decided to go the 'cheaper' route and picked up a whiskey. Cabin Fever Whiskey - downright AMAZING. Tastes just like maple syrup - the odor is pure maple, the taste is tons of maple with very little alcohol burn at all. I don't know how they got that much maple into a whiskey but the lady said people put it on their pancakes and everything. After tasting it and having a few glasses - I believe it. It's so sweet and maple flavored it would work!
  16. In the lower right you'll notice your 'layers', move the layer with the emblem on top of the layer with your regular image. You're into the 'basics' of gimp at this point, I recommend googling some tutorials! Tons out there! They're really helpful. PM Me if you need help also, I'll do what I can.
  17. GIMP - hands down. I would say it's about 95% of what Photoshop is and is completely free. Some things about GIMP I actually prefer over photoshop - but it takes some time to get used to some of the differences.
  18. I just wanted to weigh in here. See what I did there?
  19. There can only be one Yamagata. You're it! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
  20. Well, after some heated debates on facebook with some friends regarding art, artists and the fundamentals of 'good and bad', I'm curious... Who are your favorite artists and why? Me personally: I enjoy Dali & Escher. Probably my 2 favorites - Dali because his stuff was realistic, but completely wild. The detail & actual painting was done so well... and the content is just so wild - you never knew what you'd get out of a Dali painting. Escher because he was a math guy - and he took math and made it art. He could do real art too, his woodcuts and drawings are quite amazing; and some of his drawings represented physically impossible shapes - challenging the viewer to see more. I like art a lot... can't say there is really a lot I don't like. I'm not much of a fan of 'modern art' however because it just seems/feels lazy to me. Was at the art museum in Chicago a few months ago and saw a white canvas with a piece of metal stuck to it. That was it! I didn't get it. I dig street art too - Banksy (who doesn't like that guy?) is awesome! ...so lets hear it - who and why!?
  21. No, because I don't believe what I read on the internet and because him being a 'crab cake enthusiast' doesn't effect my opinion on the reasons for donation. How do you define 'abuse' or 'harassment'? If the 'abuse' was that bad, any person could call the cops - if they found actual facts of abuse, the parents would be put away. Cops also help with harassment and can find public agencies designed to help families overcome these feelings. I don't know the situation (as I've said a lot already) - has this kid tried any of those? Whether he's a crab cake enthusiast or not, if he hasn't tried anything to make it better but is instantly just going to run away (regardless of the distance); I question that. That just seems extreme - which is often the result of what happens when it's more 'emotional reaction' than 'rational thinking'. But again, this is all conjecture because NO ONE knows the real story. If we had all the facts, then I would probably feel differently. This is taking this thread in the wrong direction though - if someone wants to donate, sure then they will do so. If someone doesn't want to and expresses a thoroughly thought out and logical reasoning not to - I don't see any problem with that either. There are two sides to every story, just because you don't like what could be 'the other side', doesn't make it any less true. I'd like to think that my fiancee is 100% cancer free after her surgery a year ago... but she's going into urgent surgery today because that may not be the case. I don't like that side of the story, but it doesn't make it any less true. I will repeat this, again; just to be clear: His being a crab cake enthusiast has no effect on my opinions of donation. I wouldn't donate to this kid regardless. My opinions on the 'crab cake enthusiast lifestyle' are something else entirely and this thread is not the place for that.
