  1. Guys, if we could keep the replies a little more on the respectful side of things. This is a kid who's parents seem to be bullying him and are kicking him out. You don't just do that because your kid likes some show, that just gets used as ammunition.

While i don't really get the whole crab cake enthusiast thing, it's not really the worst thing ever. As for the whole 'getting a job thing' he seems to already have one and has the money taken off of him.

He's not asking for much, considering the situation. So if you want to donate, do so. If you don't then don't be a dick in the comments, it doesn't help anyone and really seems quite insulting.

    Every coin has 2 sides.

So far you've read what some KID has to say about his PARENTS.

Have you ever been mad at your parents? I used to get pretty pissy with mine. I got 'kicked out' once, and 30 minutes later everyone apologized and it was better for a bit.

Just because some guy posts about "my parents are bullying me and kicking me out" I'm not buying it. In high school it seemed every other month some over-reacting chick was 'going to get kicked out' or her 'parents hate her'; this just seems like typical teen drama and he is asking for handouts. I have a problem with that.

When I was 'kicked out', I didn't go asking for handouts, I packed my shit like a man and got ready to hit the road. Just seems like unneeded high school drama to me that is blown out of proportion because we're only hearing the 'crab cake enthusiast' side of the story.

  2. Sorry. "crab cake enthusiast musician" ruined it. If a 'crab cake enthusiast lifestyle' is getting him kicked out of his parents house - maybe he should stop the stupidity and do as they wish.

Just because he's too stubborn to grow up a bit doesn't warrant people just throwing money his way so he can continue to mooch off others instead of his parents. Perhaps he could get a real job and finance his own life?

Sounds like a better plan to me.

  3. This is shameful how popular the American media has made this kid.

He wanted fame and now he's got it. He won. Regardless of anything else that happens, he won. The more people talk about it and discuss him, the more he gets exactly what he wanted.

I don't know why we continue to glorify these people - it just gives troubled kids someone to identify with and idolize which just leads to more events like this in the future.

Shame on the media, shame on Americans for being such media hungry whores. It's wrong what this kid did obviously, but it's far more wrong to continue to glorify and make him exactly what he wanted - to be the center of attention.

  4. What an awfully wonderful video.

Seriously beautiful country - my grandpa did a lot of trapping/hunting as a kid growing up. Used to take his dirt bike back into some local areas where he grew up and camp in caves and go trapping for a week here and there with friends.

He had a lot of stories, but nothing like that!

    Amazing.

  5. Thank you Marsden. I like to think that Canadians have a little bit of a different outlook on the world than our southern neighbours. I can't stand being called "american" when travelling, because I pride myself in being Canadian.

If it were up to me, I'd move to Canada in a heartbeat.

Best country in the world IMO.

Far superior to this American BS.

Now, if America ever got itself together and became as it once was intended I probably would be at least content to be American - but as it stands currently it's a broken country headed down the drain because of pride and completely self-centered populace who (as a whole) are some of the least intelligent people on the planet.

  6. I just have to say- being an old fart- Gretzky when i was a kid- The best, and loved watching him play, and Mario Lemieux though i cant spell his last name.

I mean growing up an islander fan is just depressing- the Kings an the Penguins where my go to teams to make me at least enjoy Hockey-

For whatever reason I just never cared for Lemieux at all really. Gretzky was awesome to watch!

I was never a "huge" hockey fan - but have always rooted for the Blackhawks. At one point I was into hockey - and I liked Eric Lindros & the Flyers for a while (second of course, to my dear Blackhawks).

  7. they are so hit and miss for me...

I like that song - and love some of the others they've done. But then some other stuff they have just has me reaching for the "next" button as soon as the first note hits my ears.

If I just had their tracks I liked all on one CD I'd be a big fan. Unfortunately for me because of their hit & miss nature with me... they fall to the "pretty good" category.

Their videos are weird, but awesome though! They have some really cool/creative ideas.

  8. Yea, it turned out to be a pretty busy weekend for most everyone I think.

My other Toronto friends were able to meet us at Niagara but only because my buddies GF was there for a bachelorette party the night before and he had to pick her up. Had it not been for that - we might not have gotten to meet anyone other than the friendly locals!

We plan on going back - I will stalk Parker from a distance and strike when the time is right.... or something.

  9. Distillery District? AWESOME!!!! Beer Bistro!? GREAT!!! Had a Vintage Ale from '07. AMAZING!!! Delicious. Got myself a glass with it too :-D

Also went to C'est What!? - which was amazing as well. Had Poutine there - DELICIOUS!!!!!

There is a Deaf Culture Centre! It wasn't open, but the door was open and we walked in. The woman walked over to tell us we it was closed, but I signed to her a little and she said it was okay if we looked around. After that she explained they were having a gallery thing that night at 6pm. We didn't get to see it as we were elsewhere (we went back around 8pm but it was over); but it was a lot of fun actually getting to put my sign to use!

Apache Burgers? VERY delicious. One Apache burger was huge - and filled me up like mad. I left there completely satisfied. I want to try Burger Shoppe before I leave, but not sure if we will get to or not.

Also - note to everyone: do not wear flip-flops for walking 5+ miles around a major city and around beaches. You will end up with multiple blisters & blood blisters all over your feet.

ALSO NOTE: Toronto Island has a nude beach.... I may or may not have taken my clothes off and walked around a little just to try it....

Man, I am EXHAUSTED - this is only day 1. Not sure how much I will be doing on Day 2 & 3 & possibly 4! As long as it doesn't include walking huge distances in flipflops I could be ok. I just hope this huge blood blister doesn't pop in my sock tomorrow and leave a nasty puddle in my shoe!

  10. You like beer right? Go to a restaurant called the Beer Bistro, you'll enjoy it. They have a beer cellar with over I think 1000 types of beer and everything on the menu is made with beer. The food and atmosphere is great there. It's at the corner of Yonge St. and King St. If you want the best burger ever made, then you need to go to Apache Burger located just outside the downtown area, but the trip is definitely worth it. There's the Real Sports Bar which is the largest sports bar in the world with over 200 HD TVs all over the walls and in the booths. It has an indoor golf simulator and draft beer dispensers installed in the VIP tables. Check those suggestions out for some great food.

Sites - go for a walk in the distillery district, that's where all the celebs go when they're in town. Also, if it's a nice day and you want to have fun with the kids go down to the lake and take a ferry to Centre Island. They have a small amusement park for the kids and a really nice walk for the adults. If you don't want to do that, you can head down to Queensquay by the lake and just walk around there. I would suggest going to the CN Tower if you've never been, it's really fun for both the kids and parents and it'll be something you'll never forget.

I gave you my number so gimme a ring tomorrow and maybe we can meet up.

......1,000 types of beer?? I'll never leave! No need to call, you know where you can find me now :-D

Thank you for the suggestions! Our days just got more full.

Lafy I didn't know about Luminato but my Fiancee is an art teacher so it works out to be great timing!

Also, I am a huge eater/food lover so I will try to get burgers at both Apache & Burgershoppe - back to back comparison and who is the winner? THIS GUY!!!!!!!!! :-D

Although, I am now googling the primer on Canadian money, I will have to return the bottles of maple syrup I brought with as a bartering tool because no one would take it as payment last night.

I'll give you a buzz when we get rolling this AM. The woman is crashed out like a coke addict after a 5-day binge right now!

  11. I have arrived!

My Tom Tom drove me in circles not once, but twice. I think Canada has it all confused. That and trying to remember to 100km/h instead of 100mph is tricky. Ha!

Anyone got any great food places to eat?

    Sites to see?

Let me know. Friday is wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide open as the woman and I have ZERO plans for Friday and Sunday (although Sunday will probably be spent at Niagra falls area!)

  12. Lmao! Hilarious. Inferno is too freaking hard imho

    Not hard enough IMHO.

I haven't done it - but when I get there I want it to be so hard it absolutely RAPES you. Over and over and over.

The fact that people have already destroyed it makes me sad :(

It shouldn't be a cake walk, it should NOT be like D2 where everyone just walked through everything with ease. It should be hard as fuck.

I think too many games today cater to the "get it now" mindset... "get to end level which is easy, then grind out some gear"... it should be HARD to achieve that. You should play for months and die a ton to be able to beat it IMHO.

Too much easy shit these days and it turns me off to games, a lot.

  13. I'll have to dig it up. It's in one of our closets around here in a laptop case. It's old, the HD is only like 40GB I think or something like that. So again - it really isn't anything flashy!

I'll PM the info to you when I get a chance.

  14. I have an old IBM Thinkpad - but I don't think it meets your requirements. It's a pretty old machine.

Also, some of the keys (if I remember it is the Backspace & S keys) are missing on the keyboard - right now it's just a 'backup' around the house and it doesn't have built in wireless :(

If you're really in a bind and just need SOMETHING - you're welcome to it.

  15. More recent pic of me. I was at a Titanic Fundraiser. Why? Because 1) A white woman asked me to go, and white women are my kryptonite, and 2) Vagina, and 3) Open Bar.

It was a matter of principle at that point.

    bwahahahahah "vagina" nuff said.
