Forum Question - embedding video
Dillon 1st MRB replied to Dillon 1st MRB's topic in Day of Defeat: Source
Awesome, it works. Thanks much! -
Oh yeah... that's what we like!
-
So, how do you embed video on the forum? I know how I would do it in straight html, but this just isn't working.
-
If you copy and paste your errors, I can take a look at them for you.

The only reason Canada doesn't have Alaska already is because they didn't have the common sense to invade and take it. The only reason the US bought it and didn't just take it is because the US was at least smart enough to know that you don't invade two countries at once. And we all know that both BC and Russia is full of bear cavalry. Canadian Bear Cavalry Russian Bear Cavalry

New Hardware
Dillon 1st MRB replied to Gooderham 1st MRB's question in Hardware Guides & Maintenance Questions
To me, its vital. When I start noticing that the roughness of the surface has degraded, I need to get a new mousepad. All of a sudden, my accuracy improves. Its either a 20 year long (holy shit, I've been playing computer games a long time) coincidence, or there really is something to it. I'm a big fan of SteelSeries and Ratpadz. Ratpadz is sort of my sleeper pick for the best mousepad out there. Mostly because its around $20. Ratpadz The consensus pick is usually a SteelSeries. I''ve got one now, but I'm going to go back to Ratpadz. I like their texturing more. -
My money is on missing/corrupt textures. What happens when you look into your console after a map change? Are you getting errors?
-
I'm sort of puzzled.... what would Canada do with Alaska if they had it? And what would you be willing to trade to get it? And the first fucker that offers Quebec can just stop that train right now.

New Hardware
Dillon 1st MRB replied to Gooderham 1st MRB's question in Hardware Guides & Maintenance Questions
You really can't go wrong with the Razer Deathadder. As for the headset, it really comes down to person preference. I've used everything from cheap $20 sets (headset broke the day of a match so I had to WalMart it up) to high end stuff. I haven't used the SteelSeries headsets, but I've always liked the Creative Labs Fatal1ty series. I got this set for $20 on a deal and have loved them. Great lower end and mid range. Solid on the upper end. Same price point as what you are looking at. Oh, and I've heard nothing but good things about the SteelSeries headsets. -

LOL.... glad it is helping you. And, I will be uploading a new config that has some tweaks that a few of you have worked with me on troubleshooting. Link should be updated tonight when I get home from work. -
Warning to AVG Free / Win64 users
Dillon 1st MRB replied to Dillon 1st MRB's question in Hardware Guides & Maintenance Questions
It was more of a 0-day issue. They pulled the update, and then pushed out a corrected version. Should be resolved now. -
Seiko BL8000-54L Eco-Drive Calibre 8700 Perpetual Calendar Watch $235 ok?
-
That hasn't been true since... shoot, 3 generations ago. A $90 4850 will push a 1080p screen just fne.
-
Not actually sure what the issue would be. The only issue I can think of would be burn-in... but that has been a non-issue since people have not really had issues with it. That isn't to say I'd leave my desktop on overnight or anything like that, but it shouldn't present any problems.

I am both disgusted, and aroused. And slightly hungry and thirsty.

For DODS, you will be fine. I run a 5770 because I game at 1680x1050 (1.7 megapixels) and at 1920x1080 (2.0 megapixels), you should be just fine. I run ~250-280 fps. Figure you will take a hit that will knock you down to 180 or so. Anything over 60 fps is good.

Holy Crap! Wow. Stunning footage.
-
*edited out something I found hilarious regarding a "playing on a big one" and prison* Oh, well you really don't need to worry about being able to push the size of the screen at all. You have to push the resolution. And really, 1920x1080 is the most that any HDTV is. What video card do you have? You could do it. I have a friend that bought a Radeon 5830 (yeah, he didn't follow my advice on that one) and plays triple headed with his 42" screen in the middle and two 19" on the wings.
-
lol. I love the guy in the middle that is dancing instead of a jumping jack.

Actually, it doesn't make any difference at all. With the switch to a digital signal, all that has to happen is the signal getting there intact. Interference doesn't really play a part like it did with analog cables. As long as you aren't getting a pixelated picture (that isn't from your cable box/satellite receiver), you are getting everything. Don't drink the kool-aid on digital signal-carrying cables. Get the cheapest you can. And if you get Monster cables, I'll disavow knowing you.

The way things are going in Korea, keep your head down. And remember, if anyone in a uniform asks, you are Canadian.
