New config added! It is a combination of Elf's and my config, and I love the result. I get 0.7ms Lerp in the Pub, 0.5ms in the Private. One very easy to use file, and I've cleaned up the instructions a bit.

Couple of things. First, what is the maximum resoltuion of your monitor? That will dictate what level of card you should get. Secondly, the 78xx series from AMD right now just isn't worth it. You are paying more for less performance than a 69xx.

Definately post the config. I am also working on a new config that combines three different configs, but puts some eye candy back in. And by post the config, please copy and paste the entire contents. We can then go through and highlight the most important for making it pretty again.

Couple of considerations: Are you comfortable building one yourself? Janke has a nice little video that details exactly how this is done and its really pretty easy. You'll save big $$$ that way. If you aren't, shoot, I've got time if you want me to do it for you. We could work out details, if you want. Are you in the US or Canada? Do you have any parts you will be re-using? The biggest deal is usally the monitor.

Ummm, first I'm a Mariner's fan. And Feliz looking good against the Mariners isn't that hard. He came into the game having never given up a hit to a Mariner. Ever. 0 for 48, giving up 4 BB, and ringing up 21K's. And yeah, that's over 3 years. I'm just thrilled Justin Smoak broke his streak at 0 for 58 (!). Funny looking bastard got a hit!!! Lafy has a pretty good build. However, you might want to seriously consider what Goodwin has. With studying abroad, you are going to have components that are going to age with you not using them. Prices will drop dramatically once you return from where they are now.

For $600, you have some tremendous options. Can you reuse any of the following: Case (is it a name brand like Dell/HP or something like an Antec or CoolerMaster?) and what size is it? Power Supply (make and model would be a huge help, along with watts) Is it a full sized DVD drive you have? How about your monitor? What is the resolution and is it an LCD and widescreen (16:10 or 16:9 is pretty much user-preference)

If you know what your budget is, we can start there now. Also, if you are studying abroad, won't you need a laptop? The cool thing about stuff today is that gaming laptops are really starting to rock.

Undergrad was in History. I would like an MA in History, but you can't do much with one of those either. I'm thinking MA in Higher Ed. and then work in colleges/universities.

So, I got laid off today. You may be asking yourself, "Why isn't this in the Morale Office?" The answer is that I hated and loathed that job. I went into a little bit of detail in that thread about hating jobs, and it really was abhorant. Now, I'll qualify for unemployement, and should be able to go back to school and get my Master's degree. So yeah, I'm pretty stoked.

I would highly recommend you wait a bit. Nvidia just realeased their 680 video card and its freaking awesome. Low power usage, high fps, and cheaper than AMD's. Wait for their mid-range. Intel is releasing their Ivy Bridge processors soon. However, they aren't a huge improvement. So, when they come out, buy a Sandy Bridge i5 or so. The prices will drop a bit on them and you'll be pleased.

I met the three guys most involved with Invisible Children back in.. shoot, 2005 or 2006. It was pretty much all grassroots. They were looking for people to drive cars or RV's and just start letting people know about what was going on there. Personally, I have no issue with their financials because they took all of their volunteers who was driving around doing stuff and going to Africa and actually paid for them to do stuff and go to Africa. It was a good thing. As for the KONY thing, he's a war criminal. There are some war criminals that are simply allowed to be out there, and uncaught, because they made a deal. I would not be surprised if that were the case here. Back around 99-00, there was a group of journalists who wanted to find a war criminal, Radovan Karadžić. Took the 5 guys a couple of months, but they found him. The article I read back then stated that if the UN/NATO/whoever wanted to find him, it wouldn't have been that hard.

Also, what is the error message? They actually mean something.... It may be a lot of letters and numbers, but they are very helpful.
