Were you having the problem and then updated your drivers and continued to have the problem?

Did you delete you old dods folder? It will not come back if you delete it. If you did and also reinstalled everything, it makes me think that it is a video card problem or a video setting giving you trouble. When was the last time your video card drivers updated?

Did he delete his old dods folder? C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\yourname\day of defeat source And are you saying that he basically reinstalled the entire game and steam already?

You could try: Please exit Steam and go to the folder called C:\Program Files\Steam\ (this is the default location for a Steam installation - if you set a different installation directory, you will need to browse to it). Delete all of the files in this folder except: The \Steamapps\ + \Userdata\ folders and Steam.exe (this file is listed as an application and features the black and white Steam logo) Restart your computer. Then, launch Steam.exe from within the Steam installation folder, and not from a pre-existing shortcut. With Steam running, re-test the original issue. Note: This process will not affect your currently installed games. To stop a person that is using fists, you just have to know how to fight. To stop a person with a knife, you probably have to really know how to fight or have a bigger knife. To stop a person with a gun, you probably have to really really really...oh wait. You probably need a gun for that.

It was in the news recently that the NYC Fire Commissioner's son made some racist tweets that resulted in his resignation from his EMT position. EMTs are supposed to provide the same standard of care to everyone regardless of race, religion, gender, etc. The city felt that because this guy made some racist tweets he could not be trusted to provide the same standard of care to everyone. Sometimes there is a bad banana in the bunch and there really isn't much you can do about that. I certainly wouldn't want to remove all EMTs from service because of this incident though. Also, to become an EMT or to hold almost any civil service position in the city of NY you must pass a psychiatric evaluation. I don't think that it should be a requirement for gun owners to pass a psychiatric evaluation in order to own/retain a gun. And a lot of people will think that my thinking doesn't make sense to them. I think that you give way too much power over when you make a law like that. It could turn into the equivalent of the machine gun stamp. You can legally own a fully automatic machine gun if you get a stamp from the government. Just go ahead and see if you can actually get one of those stamps though. What if it turned out that more and more people started to fail their psychiatric evaluations? During the weeks that followed hurricane Sandy I had my eyes opened to why gun ownership is necessary. We were without power for over two weeks. No one knows what that will do to a person or community until they are living it. I was one of the only people in my community to have a working car and generator. People were stealing gas from other people's cars to keep their own generators running. My generator was kept chained so that it would at least make some noise if someone were to try to take it. Because the chain wasn't going to be enough. My town has only one police car on patrol, except when it is nearing shift change. The next closest police car is about 5-10 minutes away in a neighboring town. They must have had the police working overtime because there was a large police presence during the weeks that followed Sandy. However, the police cars were all stationed at the working gas stations and not on patrol. The power outage also took out the cell towers, so we were without a means to call for help even if we needed it. I was relieved to know that I had a gun in my home to protect myself and my property during that event.

Make sure that you back up your dod folder before you let the new update run. The update will erase your old dod folder. There is a temporary fix until you get your custom files converted. 1. Locate your new "custom" folder. --C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Day of Defeat Source\dod 2. Create a new folder inside of the "custom" folder and name it something like: mycustomfiles 3. Move your old files over to that folder. (cfg, materials, models, particles, resource, scripts, sound) 4. You can move your custom config over using the same steps as above, but only your custom config should be in the cfg folder. (Do not move settings, user, valve.rc, etc.) 5. Move your maps and .res files to the new maps folder (Steam\steamapps\common\Day of Defeat Source\dod\maps). Move the .txt files from the old dod\resource\overviews to the new folders. Move the .vmt and.vtf files from the old dod\materials\overviews to the new folders.

It was mentioned that converting the files would be possible. I backed up my dod folder so that I would eventually be able to convert the files myself.

That guy is an annoying asshole. I will never watch one of his videos again. I would say that we are still pretty far away from being able to do the things that he talks about.
