You don't need a hard drive to post. Can you inspect the capacitors on your motherboard? The tops should be flat, not bulging at all, and should not show any signs of leaking fluids. Here's some pictures of bad capacitors. Do you have access to a multimeter? If so, you could test your power supply to make sure that it is functioning properly. Were you doing anything in your dods folder before this happened? If it's just the gameinfo.txt file, that's a standard file so it's fixable. But there's no reason the file would just wander off. https://www.dropbox.com/s/moxgz08np48g47b/gameinfo.txt Here's a copy of my gameinfo.txt, it goes in Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Day of Defeat Source\dod Start by checking if your gameinfo.txt is actually missing. If it is then download mine and stick it in there. If it's already there, then steam is looking in the wrong place. You can try to fix that by exiting stream, deleting your ClientRegistry.blob and relaunching steam. If neither of those things fixes it report back and we'll have more suggestions for you.

mine is set to 0 and sprays work for me, and based on the title of the console var it should be 0, not 1...

The reporter at 6:20 is amazing

unplug _everything_ except a piece of ram, the cpu, and the graphics card. (and the power cord). no sata, no keyboard/mouse. the computer is obviously useless with no monitor or controls, but you can rule out more parts that way.

Are your sata and usb devices all disconnected when you get the beep sequence?

Is your CPU fan spinning when you power up the computer? If not then I'd try replacing it, otherwise you might try reseating your CPU.

are you clicking reload before you start? have you successfully smoothed demos in the past? have you tried different demos? (from different servers and/or different computers)

I think the photo of the barn is the best one. That one and the guys on the ladder have the best composition IMO. The one with the plane taking off from underneath isn't bad, but I don't really like the faded exposure. Keep it up and post more for us to see as you go!

I think I got mine for $175ish, they're the closed back version. the open back version are an extra $100 for no goddamn reason. they're the same thing with holes in the plastic casing.
