  1. If you can push the budget a tiny bit to add a monitor this seems like a good option http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16883220836 A little more in your budget would be something like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16883230007 A monitor will be around $125 If you would rather build your own computer, and feel comfortable doing that, then let us know and someone will give you suggestions.
  2. hmmm thanks Lafy but that website seems to be for renting or buying an appartment or a house... There's apparently nothing about the internet there but thank you for looking. Thanks Marsden for your input. I did, indeed, contact Bell Canada and Telus, and every other ISP I could find in my province to ask if they were offering their services for my adress but I got a negative answer everywhere. I got the info about that satellite internet from a city councilman who called my girlfriend because he heard that some new people were looking for an ISP in the area. He told her that it was the only thing that would work around here. You said that you can't get better internet where you live... I provided a perfectly effective solution.
  3. You can start by ruling out everything in your config. Move your config.cfg and autoexec.cfg to another folder, possibly the desktop. Then in your DoD:S launch options put -autoconfig including the dash. That will set all your settings to default. It will also create a new config.cfg. After doing this make sure to remove -autoconfig from your launch options, or else your settings will reset every time you run the game. If that solves your issue, then you can make a new blank autoexec.cfg and start putting commands back into it, ideally only those that you need. If you find that binds or key settings are missing you can copy and paste them out of your backed up config.cfg into your new autoexec.cfg or into your new config.cfg, it doesn't matter which. If defaulting your settings does not correct the issue, then you can just close the game, and put your config.cfg and autoexec.cfg back where you found them, and let us know and I or someone else will try to come up with another debugging step.
  4. Please, please don't call a burger "wet" - a burger is juicy, not wet. Wet is used to describe something else....... I'd sooner put my dick in it than eat it.
  5. You might want to see if anyone in the area offers microwave internet. The speeds might be worse than satellite, but pings should be significantly lower.
  6. There is no way to resolve this, satellite internet always has 500+ ping. Sending your data to space and back really does take that long.
  7. Screw Will Smith, Jeff Goldblum was the hero of that movie
  8. These variables seem to be the most likely culprits, I've included their default values. Search your config for them and correct their values, make sure there are no duplicates and see if that fixes your problem. cl_playerspraydisable 0 r_spray_lifetime 2 r_decals 2048 mp_decals 200 --edit I read your config cl_removedecals 1 can be removed, that command doesn't make sense in a config. r_decals is set to 0, increase that to at least 100 try adding the first 2 commands I listed. I assume this is your autoexec.cfg file, they could have wrong values set in your config.cfg.
  9. Check your proxy settings in Internet Options in the control panel, they should probably be set to none. Also, if you have Hola Unblocker or any other programs for spoofing your location try uninstalling them.
  10. Did you ever try the suggestion of removing one of the video cards? You could try just disabling crossfire for rust
  11. They keyboard combination Win+P is used to switch which outputs are active. Try hooking up the external monitor, turning the computer on, waiting long enough that windows should be done booting, and then press Win+P one or twice. It's supposed to bring up a menu on the screen so you can choose which mode you want, but if you press it more than once it cycles through the settings.
  12. You're never becoming a superhero with that attitude
  13. You have a bunch of commands duplicated, if not triplicated, turning things on, then off, then on again. You appear to be trying to turn off shadows and dynamic lighting. Was your dods running badly with default settings? I'd try enabling r_dynamic, mat_hdr_enable, mat_hdr_level, r_maxdlights, r_shadows. What FPS were you getting before making all these changes? I might reset your dods settings to default and just put the binds, lerp settings, maybe the win music and bloom effect settings. This autoexec file is a mess.
  14. I'm confused, is Barry asking for a can of cat food?
  15. Norris, you're at 4.4% TKs, which is a little too close to Britton's 4.9% for you to be the one drawing attention to it.
  16. I'm not playing a game that adds NEW rules part way through

  18. Can I just say as a Canadian, his/her opinion is just wrong and in no way reflects how all Canadians feel about their flag. I love my flag, it should never touch the ground and it should never burn. That flag represents a country and people who protect that country have worn it (whether it was stitched on their clothing or painted on a vehicle) and died with it for that country. I like to respect their memory and the sacrifice they made by respecting the symbol of a country they fought for. Just MY opinion. Can't we just agree to make flags out of fireproof materials? Somebody get a hold of NASA! NOT my opinion.
  19. Somehow that happened....
