  1. Granted, you leave. I wish I had a pizza.
  2. The sv_downloadurl is set to http://1stmarineraiderbattalion.clanservers.com/dod That url gives an error 509 Bandwidth Limit Exceeded Should it be set to http://1stmrb.clanservers.com/dod? That one actually loads, kalt_1945 does seem to be missing from there though. I recall we had a problem a few years ago where the sv_downloadurl kept getting screwed up.
  3. One additional note in case someone consults this ticket in the future. The VPK file doesn't seem to include the map BSP files, so there is an additional step required of copying the BPS files from your dods maps folder into the maps folder in the SFM folder the tutorial has you create.
  4. I believe this will solve your problem Make sure you have the latest version of GCFScape Follow the instructions in the video, however when he tells you to open the DODS GCF file, instead open this file C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Day of Defeat Source\dod\dod_pak_dir.vpk Then proceed with copying all the files he suggests out of that VPK file into your new folder within SFM. The rest should be the same.
  5. Technically, what goes up at less than 25038.72 mph must come down.
  6. I'm falling behind on these happy birthday threads, so here it is: Happy Birthday to anyone and everyone who has had or is going to have a birthday in 2014.
  7. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnavox_Odyssey If the NES is getting votes simply for leading to the development of better devices then the Magnavox Odyssey deserves attention.
  8. I've heard that SteelSeries Siberia v2 are quite comfortable. I'd avoid anything marketed as surround sound, 5.1, 7.1, anything of that nature. It either means they've crammed a ton of crappy speakers into the headset (rarely the case) or that they've included virtual surround sound software with the headset. If you want virtual surround sound I can send you a link (though personally I don't care for it). Whatever you pick I'd suggest checking youtube for some reviews to see what the reviewer says about comfort and see if the mic sound echoy or ads a ton of noise.
  9. I'm quite happy with my Logitech G500s, I had an MX510 (the G500s' great grandfather) for about 12 years when it finally started having scroll wheel issues. I'd say that's a decent lifespan for a mouse. If you go with a mechanical keyboard I would strongly recommend trying them out first. The different keys can be incredibly noisy and/or feel incredibly weird. Most of the mechanical keyboards use cherry brand keyswitches, which come in many colours (each with a particular fee/sound). Some common ones are blue, brown, red, and black. I've heard people say that red and black are good for gaming which may be true, but I can't stand typing on them. All the cherry keyswitches register the keypress about half way down, but reds and blacks have no special feel at that point, so they feel very mushy to me. The main difference between reds and blacks is that reds take a much lighter press than blacks. Blues are noisy as hell and you can feel a click when the key is half way down. When I'm on skype with my friend with blues I can always hear his keyboard clacking away. They make a sort of snapping sound. Browns are quieter than blues, but the feel when the key is press is more like a bump in the press. It's hard to describe how all the keys feel so you should definitely try out some mechanical keyboards and find out which keyswitches the keyboards you try have. You'll immediately be able to feel the difference between the keyswitches. I would advise against the chicklet keys. I don't know this specific keyboard, but chicklet keys are effectively laptop keys which tend to have too short of a keypress and small scissor shaped pieces under each key that have a tendency to collect grit and not function smoothly in the long run.

It is indeed! Although, I didn't pay over a grand for it. Can you scroll wheel with it?
  11. What if you try playing with your monitor turned off? Just ask somebody in game what map it is and feel your way around.

  18. Name: Lafy Rank: BAR Type of issue: Hardware? Brief Description of Issue: I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this. Probably isn't. I was hit by a car on my bike last night. The asshole went through a stop sign at full speed cutting me off (i had no stop sign), so I ended up hitting the back side of his suv at nearly full speed. I have a broken wrist, sprained shoulder, 2 staples in my foot and a bunch of road rash. The guy sped away and a car that was behind me chased him and got his plate number. According to the police they will only be able to charge the guy with hit and run if the witness that followed him can describe the driver accurately. If any of you drive like maniacs please don't. Also, if you can fix my broken wrist, that'd be cool. ***Medical Supply Staff ONLY Below this line*** Current Status: Researching Pending Reply Resolved Unresolved Main Technician: Supporting Technician:
