Yep, I don't think there's a lot you're going to be able to do about it. Dillon's first post in this thread pretty much sums up your problem. Too many hops over some bad servers. Comcast is notoriously a shitty ISP in my experience. If you have other options you might check out the competition. If you have friends in your local area on different ISPs have them run the same tracert and see what kind of results they get.

Chrome. I've used Firefox for a long time and finally made the switch to Chrome 3 or 4 months ago. Very glad that I did - it is far superior.

Lately I've been playing DOD:S windowed and it saves me a lot of hassle. I just minimize the window and it's instantaneous. I think this can effect your FPS though, so make sure you have enough machine to do it first (I do).

I was going to suggest the same as Dillon. The speed test doesn't mean a lot in this situation - a traceroute will determine what, if any, problems there are and likely show why you might have a bad ping. To test it out: 1) click on start and type cmd in the search box - press enter. (ie, bring up your command window) 2) type "tracert 208.167.243.207" without the quotes and hit enter. 3) Post the results. Mine looks like this: I usually get a ping in the 50s or 60s on the pub, so extrapolate from there based on your results.

A lot of routers (especially cheap ones) are unable to handle too many connections at one time. I don't mean the number of computers connected to the router, but the number of connections that the router has to handle to send and receive data. Many bittorrent clients have the default number of connections set way to high for most routers to handle. When the router can't take any more it will basically stop all connections for a short period of time (usually less than 30 seconds in my experience). When this happens you will appear to still be connected to the internet, but nothing works. If you don't think bittorent is the culprit it might just be a router going bad. NIC and modem could also be the culprit, as Dillon suggested, but I'd start with the router first. As a test take the router out of the equation. Connect a line directly from the modem to your computer and see if that fixes the problem. Also try connecting directly to the router instead of using wireless. If one of those fixes the problem then you've found the culprit. If neither helps then I would consider the possibility that it is your ISP. However, I'm willing to bet it is the router. I've had a lot of router problems in the past. I finally did my research ( http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/lanwan/router-charts/view ) and bought an Asus WL-520GU. I can run torrents and play DOD:S on my computer, stream netflix to the kid's computer, netflix to the TV, regular browsing from my wife's computer, and run a minecraft server from my daughter's computer all at the same time. Never had a single hiccup or dropped connection (I still can't get the damned print server to work though!). I'm not recommending that you purchase this specific router to fix your problem - but if you remove the router from your setup and experience no more problems, you should do some research and get a better router!

This game is a few months old, but I just finished it and LOVED it. If you know nothing about this game - watch this first (lots of swearing) - If that didn't make you laugh, then Bulletstorm might not be for you. Me? I laughed through the whole game. The dialogue is hilarious. The dick jokes aren't as prevalent as the youtube clip makes it look - they're spread out throughout the game. But, when they come up they are pretty well played. Beyond the language, the gameplay is very fun. The weapons are fun and offer a lot of variety and the whip is pretty damn cool. You earn points which you use to upgrade weapons and buy ammo and you get extra points for doing special kills - such as whipping a guy which pulls him towards you in slow motion and then kick him into a wall of busted metal which he gets impaled on......yeah, it's like that!
