  1. Would that drink also include a rich deposit of vodka/amaretto/liqueur of choice? Then, the existential question would probably be - why can we only stay 30 days?
  2. While I do agree about the additional discipline and the punch to the face, I have to say that Fraser totally missed the boat on this one. The physics that he's talking about is impossible. For Gryba to have hit with his hip first would make his vertebrae the most flexible one EVER. If you lower your shoulder the way he did, then physiologically, it would be leading the hit (unless he was sticking his waist out with his back arched) so not sure how he can say "shoulder lowered" and "initial point of contact was the hip" in the same breath. The only BS here is that they're trying to sugar coat the fact that Gryba screwed up with a hockey hit that sadly contacted the head first (however unintentionally) and lead to a really unfortunate result. In reality, Shanahan's analysis of the hit is 110% bang on and he showed the same angles as the TSN crew but with better breakdowns. But the thing is that rule 48 doesn't differentiate between intentional or unintentional so the leeway was there to assess the supplementary discipline. You want to know what's BS? The fact that if you intentionally try to hit the head but no injury occurs, it's not disciplined (e.g. the headshot on Brown that you talked about Parker). It's those kinds of hits that should be charged with 10-20 game suspensions regardless of consequence. When you make an obvious motion to decapitate someone with the elbow, there's no way you can defend that as anything other than malicious. And, yeah, that JVR goal was a beaut (but I think homerism is biasing you to possibly consider that as goal of the year Parker). Glad to see TO make a series of it again.
  3. Garlic Nan Bread Asiatic salad (topping) Honey-glazed Lemon Roast Chicken Old english-style cheddar cheese If/when we get off that island, we'll all likely be bloated sobs while most of us will likely be afflicted with scurvy. However, this thread has motivated me to go to the farmer's market today, yay!
  4. Stupid exchange rate even applies to midnight showings. Well, I'll be waiting until wednesday for 1/2 price movie night. Less people on wednesdays too. AMC > Guzzo.
  5. While I'm not surprised hit got suspended, I don't think it's the right call. I don't see Gryba as being that opportunistic. It seems to me that he was just lucky that the puck went Eller's way. I get the feeling that Gryba was already lining Eller up for an open ice hit except that eller turned around to look at where the puck was at the wrong time. An no, the sheer size difference of some players will make it impossible to get those kinds of hits out of the game (even if you make all hits to the head illegal). So, sadly, this was just a case of wrong place at the wrong time. Diaz's pass just made it one that became a bloody mess. Otherwise Eller would have just taken a hard hit to the upper body and Gryba would likely have gotten 2 mins for interference. I still say that Gryba was aiming to do an open ice hit on eller. Sigh. MaxPac and the captain out too. Price is going to have to outplay anderson tonight.
  6. The problem wasn't so much the intent - I think that Gryba gets most of the benefits of doubt. The main issue here is that Shana-ban is trying to "clean up" the game's more lethal contact situations by citing point-of-impact with the head as being something that should be eliminated/avoided. So, even if it's a clean hit, albeit truly unfortunate for Eller, it's something that players should intuitively seek to avoid. However, I'm not sure how it's really feasibly possible at the game's current speed but the goal isn't wrongly placed. I didn't see the Perron hit.
  7. It was a clean hockey play (no jumping off ice, was looking like he was attempting a shoulder-to-shoulder hit big hit). As much as I hate to see that kind of result, the problem with big defensemen is that they can't help but contact the head if the target is looking down to try and control a pass from behind. Now whether Gryba was lining him up for an off-the-puck hit or not is debatable since his hit was almost instantly after Eller got the puck (assuming Diaz hung Eller out to dry with that kind of stupid stupid pass). But, sadly, the fact that the puck was there makes it moot. Diaz passes it up, off the boards, and that incident doesn't happen. Passing up the middle in your zone against aggressive forechecking has "dangerous" written all over it, like foreseeing a murder at an armed robbery. Personally, I'd be surprised, after facial lacerations, lost teeth, more-than-likely concussion, if Eller makes it back for the playoffs this year. Hope he'll recover well from this - kid was on his way to becoming a solid player.
  8. I'd like to think that most of us think that the DD movie sucked not because of a black Kingpin but rather because there were many more issues than that. And if you think that Marvel did a good job representing the Asian look with this picture then maybe I can understand why you were so shocked by Micheal Duncan Clark being cast as Carlton Fisk. Also, since the movie is officially out today in North America, I'm wondering how some of you *cough*internetdownloading*cough* have already seen IM3?
  9. Big 1st game tonight. We'll see how Montreal will deal with Eriksson tonight. Let the cross-province battle begin. Go Habs!

  15. I second the suggestion to ban for 1 month (or whatever the longest duration that's not permanent). Had I known that this guy was such a repeat offender, I would have banned him for 1 week instead of 1 day (since his continuous respawn rocket TKing was blatant trolling I skipped the warn and kick part).
  16. He returned into the server. Banned for 1 week unless overturned.

  20. "Wag The Dog 2"? Here's the translated version: "Kim Jong-un, sly fox? Roch Blier Kim Jong-un is it as crazy as it leaves the show or does it use extraordinary means to initiate a revolution in his country and thus bring it into the twenty-first century? In light of what I read in the papers, it seems plausible that the strong man of North Korea, a young man who has studied in Switzerland, so probably in tune with his generation and certainly aware behind his country compared to the rest of the world, has concocted a scheme to circumvent rather clever two insurmountable obstacles to any change in his country. The first: the army. At its head: the dinosaurs of the regime, the hardliners, those of the old school. Brain washed by the principles of the old regime and with whom all negotiations for reform or change is futile. The second: China. Only ally of the regime, indispensable economic partner, it is unthinkable to change the country to democratic values, human and economic, such as are found in Switzerland, for example, without risking that the hand that feeds us take the throat. In short, the challenge of Kim Jong-un is huge, and does not belong in comparing these two enemies. It remains political games: deception, manipulation and finesse. Braving the United States and the international community, threatening the entire planet of war, he demonstrates that he did not have cold feet and goes into the pocket and the heads of the army. This threat, which never lead to an armed conflict, will result in the conclusion that North Korea is a regime far too irresponsible to possess nuclear weapons. Intervention interference in North Korean affairs, from the international community, will be inevitable, and suddenly the country just to get rid of the Chinese takeover. The table is set for a quiet revolution in taste European and / or North America. Playing the game of the victim that prioritizes the safety of its citizens, Kim Jong-un retain the support of his army, the confidence of his people, and therefore its power, while admitting the eyes of China powerless against the invasion of modernism. Visiting Eric Schmidt, CEO of Google, shortly before the recent events, it is probably not unrelated to the plan of Kim Jong-un. Well aware of the power of the Internet, such as the Arab Spring has shown us, the web is the way of the opening of the North Korean people of the world. But if La Presse article titled "What is the boss of Google in the Internet locked country?" The mystery is likely to "unlock" before long ... This whole scenario may be a fantasy, but I find quite striking coincidences between a young man who has studied in one of the most democratic countries in the world, and then became the head of the dictatorship of the most closed in the world. The visit of a mysterious baron of the internet, his daughter and a former diplomat states unien (Bill Richardson), and absurdity, shortly after, the threat of nuclear war against the first power in the world. Not to mention the fact that this young man has also shown some openness to North American values, inviting his friend Dennis Rodman (former NBA star), watching a basketball game with him to Pyongyang. Kim Jong-un, sly fox?" Here's the link to the article (in French) This opinion piece has some definitely plausible conclusions and maybe North Korea might be going through a "Hunt For Red October"-esque moment.
  21. Thanks for the quick response guys. Strange you should already be a steam friend from back when. I'll check again when I get back later tonight. BTW, is there a way to backup vent profiles? I looked in my Vent folder but couldn't find anything that looked like a "profile" save file. Cheers!
  22. Hey guys. Not sure how reinstalling shockwave could actually wipe my profile in vent but it did. Last night, I ran vent and it said that it was the first time that I ran it. I was able to attempt a log-in with my profile name but the pw no longer seems to work. Is there a way to reset the pw for my vent log-in? Cheers!
