  1. More pictures to come when I can sort it. Yes Legend! I almost forgot that. I haven't had a cigarette since I arrived in Zambia. Nor a alcoholic beverage.
  2. Heres a photo of all the volunteers and staff as well! See if you can spot me. Thank you Cast.
  3. So here it is. Zambia is a pretty amazing place, the people are nice, the weather is great but it is very tough. I mean tough in the sense there are very few good roads. If any. Getting a cab or a bus, you wonder if you'll make it to the other destination because of the lack of safety awareness here, but thats all part of the fun. So what I'm currently working on is i'm currently co-ordinating nine radio listener groups in nine different rural communities, and what my role is, is to collect information, create videos, take photos of these groups each week and feed them to the radio show which is run by the charity i'm working with. I also support the communities when the shows are live so for one hour a week i'm incredibly stressed. But the reward is great. This is also the reason I have internet (Although limited), I am based at the office now instead of one of the communities. Why you ask? One of the reasons is I'm getting a much better insight into international development than I would in a community plus I still get to visit the communities.. there are other contributing factors but they are a story for another time. But asides from the Radio listening groups, i'm working a various number of things which all make me feel i'm doing something worthwhile. Just want to say thanks again, for the support you guys have given me, you have all made me a better person (apart from Rather, who I hate.).
  4. hahaa guys. My role over here has changed slightly meaning I will periodically have internet access daily. I'll post a full update soon/when i have time.
  5. I hate Rather. That is all. (p.s good luck and beat the 3te PGD in berlin!)
  6. Dr Who is actually amazing. I'm not even talking about the 'new' run of the show (starting in 2005). If you can get past the dodgy costumes, the stories are really pretty good, and some of the early films are great. It pretty much all depends on the doctor you choose but tom baker is a pretty solid choice. My dad has pretty extensive collection of doctor who DVD's and even more extensive collection of doctor who VHS, so I pretty much grew up on it. IMO though do some research first before committing yourself to watching it. RAMDOM FACT: The newest doctor, Matt Smith was born in my hometown.
  7. So some of you guys know and some of you don't, but I'm going to be living and working in Africa specifically Zambia for the next few months from the 17th January. I've kinda put off posting about this for a while as I haven't been 100% that I was going to go. This has been a dream of mine for many years, and I've had to get over some challenges to get to where I am today. As some of you know 2012 was a really tough for me with my grandfather getting hospitalised, and his slow but good recovery from a heart attack. I believe the time is right now, because I want to be able to make him proud of me for something. Anyway, I wanted to make this post to thank you guys for being awesome in 2012, genuinely at certain points I don't know what Id of done without you guys seriously, (This even goes to the guys no longer in the unit), without the laughs, advice, fun and support you guys gave me I wouldn't of got through last year, and I would not have the courage to do what I'm doing. That said I'll definitely be back at some point in April. If you wanna know anything about what i am doing in Zambia, just ask! P.S Keep on being the best god damn realism unit in all of DODS. P.S.S Keep hating on Rather till I get back, I mean look at him, he deserves it! *Salute*
  8. I got to speak to a friend who had practically deleted me from her life a year and a half ago. We were best friends until a tonne of shit happened where we basically hated each other, but it's like that never happened now. Pretty sweet present!
  9. It's a Christmas miracle! I thought this too! Merry Christmas to you all!
  10. This was my reaction when i opened this thread... Happy Birthday!
  11. was about to post this.... hahaha. what a crazy world.
  12. He loses points for not singing anywhere in this clip.
  13. best of all its free. Get it here:- http://stabyourself.net/mari0/
  14. I'd win so there would be no point in me joining
  15. I make a solid judgement based on what I read and watch on BBC, MSNBC, Reuters and various fact-checking programmes and websites. To call my statement ridiculous without knowing my knowledge on the matter is absurd. His Comments in the UK, then about Palestine, followed by his 47% speech and his involvement in Bain Capital have all helped me make my mind up about him. Obama might not be the greatest president but he is definitely the lesser of two evils.
