I hear that argument so often, "How can they not bomb the shit out of Gaza when they're always shooting rockets at their houses and Israelis have to live in constant fear of hearing those alarms warning about incoming missiles." The Palestinians don't even get alarms. What's the endgame? Will the airstrikes stop once there's nobody left to kill in Gaza? And talk about self defense, in the last string of bombings that started two weeks ago the Israelis were the aggressors- THEY'RE THE ONES STARTING IT. This is one subject where there is a decidedly vocal group that refuses to see any sort of logic, and will cling to its argument no matter how irrational and ridiculous it might be.

I've seen so many people saying stuff like "Israel's not going to take their shit anymore," and I don't understand why they think they have been taking that shit. Also Israel abandons the peace process every time some idiot fires a rocket-- but they say they it's the Palestinians.

People often group politics and religion together as two taboo conversation topics, I think he was just playing it safe.

I'm with my parents at a rented apartment a couple blocks away from Fort Greene park on the Clinton Hill side. We're here for thanksgiving with my sister, who lives a couple blocks away. Tomorrow I'm going to watch the Barcelona match at Smithfield, at 28th and 7th street then I'll probably hit the Met.

"They were equally good" seems like a comparative statement One leaves me with what I imagine is a much more realistic idea of the cost of war, and really shook me the first time I watched it- The Pacific. The other is an awesome narrative of a group of incredible people that inspires me every time I watch it- Band of Brothers.

Almost definitely the episode where Lt. Speirs takes command of the attack on Foy. After that, the Last Patrol, where Webster comes back. That one's really poignant.

It's really sweet plus Acton sucks so you'll probably win a bunch.
