  1. This was like some guy's animation project.
  2. Every time I use my *Giraffe noises* bind somebody asks "Well golly gee Captain Giraffe, what kind of noise does a giraffe make exactly??" Here, finally, is your long-awaited answer. (skip to 1:50) Because I can't be assed to pull this video up every time people ask, I've instead been playing this song on my phone to simulate a giraffe noise. It's by a Peruvian band from the mid-1960s, often credited as being the first ever punk band- Los Saicos (the Psychos) Good night, and good luck.
  3. Yeah, they really hyped the hell out of the brutal slaughter of 20 children and 6 adults...
  4. - George Washington Bogus attribution. Thanks for the fact check, bro! No problem
  5. - George Washington Bogus attribution.
  6. This is wholly disappointing.
  7. The wonderful and remarkable thing about America, something that made the United States stand out among the countries of the world, while revolutions raged in Europe, dictators rose and monarchs fell, is that we have a system that PEACEFULLY passes power from one faction to another, as decided by the people. I can understand the argument that people need guns to defend themselves, like in Xiong's case. But saying that we need guns in the hands of private citizens because we need to be able to rise up against the government seems absurd to me. The only time people have actively used their guns to rise up against the government in any sort of substantial uprising was when people in the south rose up to defend their right to own people... Equally absurd is the notion that the Newtown shootings could have been just as easily perpetrated with a car. Think about it for a second, could he really have driven down 26 people inside a school? I don't believe that taking guns away from people will help reduce gun violence, because gun violence has been steadily decreasing anyway over the last few decades. But I hate that guns are everywhere in America because for me a gun transforms every single stranger into a potential enemy/somebody you might have to shoot, instead of a potential friend. That's why I want to live in England, because I'd rather take my chances with a stabbing or being beaten to death with a blunt object.
  8. This is awesome. I miss you guys
  9. I don't appreciate the title of this post, but I support you.
  10. I'm in the middle of Camden so there's about 4 pubs per block in my neighborhood. Where's that statistic from?
  11. Hi all!! I know I've been off the grid for a while, mostly because I've been traveling around England/Europe. Anyway, I've settled into my flat in London and I'm working on catching up with all the mrb news I've missed! Unfortunately, I won't be able to play a lot while I'm here because my bandwidth is limited on a weekly basis, but I'll try to find places to play. Hope all is well with y'all Much love, *Giraffe noises*
  12. Got a couple nice sweaters, some black trousers and nice headphones. My family wasn't really trying this year- but I can't complain about a thing! Hope everyone had a lovely holiday Oh Logue, if only I had made it to GB a few days earlier, we could've had a lovely Christmas!
  13. So I just got the email with my internship placement for my upcoming trip to London and I'm pleased to announce I'll be working at CNBC!! I'll be working in production on European Closing Bell starting in January, until May. I only have a pretty topical knowledge of the European debt crisis, mostly on the political side- so if any of you know anything about business, or the fiscal side of that crisis feel free to pm me with your knowledge! Anyway, I also found that I'll be living in Camden! For you Brits, you know what that means. For those who don't, it's kind of like a trendier, dirtier version of London from another dimension. I'll let Noel Fielding explain...
  14. Or you can take my approach: cheat on your girlfriend of 5 months by sexting with this hot chick who finally started paying attention to you because you're 16 and a fucking idiot, then when she finds out and all her (your) friends turn against you and make your life a living hell for your last two years of high school, develop a crushing fear of commitment and avoid all serious relationships for the entirety of your college career. Not super effective, but it will give you plenty of alone time to bone up on that Tolkien lore or to build that HG 1:140 scale gundam you've always wanted...
  15. It's just a samson condenser that's supposed to be used for speech/podcasting. Kind of short term, I just wanted to get the song out there.
  16. ...I missed the Olympics??? DAMN IT.
  17. Thanks Reis!!
  18. Here ya go. I'll be recording more after finals.
  19. I've always thought of football as the sport of slowly killing your opponents' bodies, so if they change this it won't really be football anymore. These athletes, many of whom have relied on the sport as one of the only avenues to get them out of low-income and crime-filled neighborhoods and environments, have chosen to pursue football to support their families instead of turning to crime or slaving away at multiple minimum-wage jobs for the rest of their lives. They should suffer the consequences, not the bloodthirsty fans who value the game more highly than the players lives.
  20. This is why I miss the 3rd. Plus Baker, Tate and Branem.
  21. Bump. Look at all these forerunner mothafuckas.
  22. The Clint Eastwood one killed me.
  23. That's one way to respond I guess.
  24. Alright dude, so far in this argument I've provided facts and figures and you've provided unsubstantiated opinions. I'm not trying to offend you, I don't know you, and I don't want you to take this personally- but that always happens with this particular subject. So in the interest of facts, here are some facts about the Gaza freedom flotilla raid that might clarify things for you. No weapons were found on any of the ships, other than the handful of pipes and knives used by activists to combat the IDF commandos who assaulted their ships in international waters. There's a link to a report that details how the vessels were all inspected before entering international waters, how no weapons were found then, and how the IDF attacked the ships anyway. After the IDF boarded ONE of the ships A HANDFUL of activists on that ship retaliated and 10 of them were killed, and dozens more wounded. 12 IDF commandos sustained minor injuries and one was seriously injured. How do you respond, logically, to those facts? Do you still argue that the IDF commandos were in the right, even though Israel was universally condemned (with the exception of the USA) for the raid?
