I still think armed police officers, not private security guards, by one armed cop would deter alot of the school shootings that have gone down at US campuses. Colleges, maybe not, most colleges have their own PDs but you have to take them out of the equation because some colleges are as big or bigger than small towns. These guy pick places intentionally where they know there is a lack of firearms, therefore few who would be able to stop them. The Aurora guy picked the one movie theatre is a several mile radiius that did not allow concealed firearms (which is why that shooting is so strange to me, as Colorado is one of the states that you can still wear a pistol on your hip in full view of the public)

That was Theo Epstein's attempt at leaving the ball club in a good situation after he went to the Cubs to try and make history. I was very proud of them for having the balls to get rid of Josh Beckett and those big contracts that were weighing us down. We've totally changed our ball club around, and the Red Sox are starting to go in a direction away from big contracts. That's what they did all this off season, short term, low money deals, as they should. Im not just choosing to attack the Blue Jays out of the blue. Kang brought up other divisional rivals, so i threw in a topic starter about the blue jays. I didn't bring up payrolls Parker, you did. i brought up overhype. We will see where it gets you this season. And if at the end of the year i have to eat my words, so be it. Thats the way the game goes. In a certain way, one could argue that just because there was a trade doesnt mean the blue jays didn't buy those players. when they made that trade, they picked up over $100 million in salaries over the next 5 years. while the blue jays are $40 million below the red sox payroll, that may not necessarily be true over the next 3-5 years, as jose reyes is owed $96 million over the last 5 years of his contract alone. some quick math would break that down to $19.2 million a year, just for reyes, making up more than half the 2013 difference in the blue jays and red sox payrolls. now obviously baseball contracts dont work like that, he will probably make more in his last couple of years than the first year, but my point is don't sit there and act like the Red Sox and the Yankees are the only two teams who pay big money for big players, because your team is doing it too, its just not hurting your pocket books as much this year as it will next year, and the year after that. you better hope he performs like what you're paying him, cause otherwise you'll be making the same mistake the redsox made in 2012 and the same one the yankees make every year. same one LA made last year. its a recurring problem in baseball and i know personally that it hurts when your team tries it and it fails. since the marlins were clearly having a fire sale to get rid of their expensive contracts, all they wanted was so decent talent in exchange for major league all stars. the real reason i had it in my mind that there was a purchase of contracts was because i know you picked up those big contracts, and i didnt think about what you migt've given up for them, which when you look at the fine print, wasn't very much. and for the record, you didnt trade just prospects, if memory serves me correctly you gave them your starting SS, or another MLB infielder, and at least one starting pitcher. Im sure there was another pro player, but wanna talk about getting your facts straight?

I personally am shocked by what happened at Sandy Hook, from the perspective of the lack of protection for the kids. At my school, and every school in my district (I would imagine most of Texas is like this but I don't know) there was always a police officer, titled a police liaison officer, at the school all day every school day, from elementary to senior year. On top of that, we had strict, specific lockdown procedures in the event of an intruder, and we practiced them frequently throughout the year. I find myself wondering why Sandy Hook didn't have the same protection and procedures.

I have an intel core i7 3.07 ghz. Not sure how good this is either, but i expect its about average. I have no problems running anything on my computer truth be told, i can max out the settings on Shogun Total War 2, which i think is the most demanding game i have.

Yes it is connected with an HDMI cable. I have an AMD Radeon HD 6800 graphics card (btw, an assessment of how good this video card is now would be appreciated My video card requires either an HDMI hook up or a DVI connector, but my monitor only has HDMI/VGA ins. Qould is possibly fix my problem if i bought a DVI to VGA adaptor?

Im having mad screen resolution problems. With my current monitor, it says the recommended screen resolution is 1920x1080, but iwhen i have it set to that, there are black lines around the edge of my screen (so it doesnt fill up the whole screen) When i set it to the one that does fill the screen, 1600x900, things look a little weird, but more than that none of my games resolutions work properly. Im trying to launch and play Civ V, and i cant get a screen resolution that even allows me to see everything in game without having major mouse calibration problems. Anyone have any ideas what i can do?

man just that short demo in a early stage of the game.....EPIC! i cannot fuckin wait to get this game, Rome was my favorite era in the Total War series. The older game was just really rough compared to the elegance of Shogun 2. Can't wait for it to be applied. I just hope that i don't have to buy ANOTHER new video card for another Total War game hahaha
