  1. no definitely. i mean in ancient times, human society usually commonly defined marriage as a relationship between a very young girl, say often 13-15 marrying a man twice her age, or at least 5-10 years older. I mean we'd call that pedophilia now. Sexual relationships between older men and younger boys in Greece were common and not taboo. Shit the Egyptians used to marry brothers and sisters! Interracial marriage is only an accepted common practice in the last 100 years. So i definitely think that as human society progresses, our conception of an idea changes. But i think the real issue, is a denial or certain rights and privileges is unfair. I think it really is a gay rights' issue more than a gay marriage issue. Gay couples should be allowed the same rights and rituals as a straight couple. It damn sure isn't the federal government's job to say that they can't. DOMA should not have been passed, and it should be struck down because its not constitutional. Period. End of story.
  2. Thanks for all the birthday wishers guys! I had a good one. Only 364 more days!
  3. its just that theres a different set of civil laws for those who are married. everything changes. the most bullshit thing to me is inheritance laws and insurance laws. there's no reason they should be denied the same rights as straight couple just because homophobes and religious fundamentalists are protective of the word marriage
  4. I don't know much about that Fox, but itd say it looks like a really sick car, and the mileage on its 302 is a better for the price than the Supra. Toyotas WILL usually run forever (though not as long as Hondas > but id have to agree the with point borscht makes, i have no idea how much maintenance costs would be for that, do you? might be something to consider. Also again id say 122k miles for 13k is expensive for ANY car. Futhermore, stay the FUCK away from that mustang. mileage too high, made by ford, end of story. Just my 2 cents
  5. Im no legal expert, but i am very familiar with buying used cars, and im confident i can locate any information you might need. whats up?

  8. He was an enemy of the United States, end of story. Yeah, we're happy he's gone.
  9. Yeah 4Runners last forever especially. I was gonna get a 4runner for my first car, but i fell in love with the boxy Jeep Cherokee. Probably a bad call, considering i could probably still be driving the 4runner if i had gotten it, but hey, i loved my Jeep
  10. Enh i say props to Xiong for having the balls and wanting to put work into the car. If the engine was really as good as you made it sound, and everything mechanically was pretty good (except leaking oil...) then it seems that the major work would go into the interior and the body work. I personally wouldnt ever take on body work, its just not my thing. Jabs, did you do your own paint job on the impreza? Truth be told, im kind of new to the car world. I love cars and i appreciate them, i love working on them and am going into an automotive career as well, i just not that knowledgeable. my dads a pool mechanic and he can fix pretty much anything, so we did some basic stuff on my 2001 Jeep, that was my first car. but he wasnt really into fixing cars as a hobby so i didnt learn too much from him besides some basics. Currently ive got a 2004 Honda Accord EX-L Vtec V6, but im paying so much to get the car paid off that i dont have any money to put any real good work into it. Y'all saw my headlight thread, but honestly ive got to wait on headlights for another 3 months or so. Ill post pictures of my two cars at some point, and tell y'all the story of selling my jeep xD
  11. ......you were GOING for venereal disease? hmmmm if thats your valentines day goal more power to ya i guess
  12. this is what i was originally thinking. so i would buy all new projector halo headlights and then buy an HID kit that includes the ballasts etc? how easy is it to find projector headlights that are compatible with HIDs? and what might their cost be?
  13. After some research, im find alot of people complaining that aftermarket halos tend to be shitty quality, anyone used them before and found this to be true? Also, they keep saying halos are crappy for lighting, and the best way to go is retrofitting (but that is either expensive to have someone do for you or a shitton of work) HIDs. Any of yall used HID conversion kits? How do they work and what was your results? I think im leaning towards buying an HID conversion kit, i really just want crisp, brighter lights for my accord. i love the look of halos but i dont wanna spend my money on something thats gonna fall apart or burn out in 8 months, or more so be too complicated to put together to get the end result im looking for.
  14. thanks for the input jabs. what im thinking about doing is buying a halo projector assembly and then installing HID bulbs whenever i get around to having that cash on hand. so id have just halos for awhile and then id eventually install the HIDs however.... this is fucking sick. thats exatly how id like my car to look, and those look like just halo lights, am i correct?
  15. found this on a car driver forum, is this accurate? This is what i want my car to be like, Halo's around HID lights. How easy is this/is it possible on my 04 Accord?
  16. So i want to save up and get some new headlights for my 2004 Honda Accord EX-L V6. I've been looking at Halo lights, the Black Angel Projector lights are soooo clean looking, but i think just standard HIDs look great as well. Trying to get some opinion on these. What do yall think? Which are brighter/better looking/more cost effective?
  17. i guess if they keep making money off these movies, more power to em. the series is definitely just too ridiculous now. they are still entertaining but after the original they got too flashy. the thing that made the first movie so badass was it was very street and realistic and not over the top stunts and cars.
  18. yeah i mean at the end of the day, an Iran with nuclear weapons just makes them the meanest kid on the block in the middle east, as far as regional powers go. i think theyre crazy enough to let one slip into the hands of extremists, thats whats really scary. Who even knows why NK wants Ballistic nukes. They cant fuck with us and they know that, idk why they wanna just prove they have a big dick
  19. This is irrelevant. The whole idea behind the Iranian nuclear crisis is that Iran is lying about attempting to gain nuclear weapons. Talk is cheap, they can say whatever they want, the evidence paints a different picture. This is the same government that controls most of their nations media outlets, leading to propaganda and censorship. Their government lies and makes empty promises and threats consistently, i wouldn't expect their supreme religious and political figure to be any different.
  20. Side note: thanks everyone for contributing to this argument and for posting sources. Im gonna use some of this discussion in a policy paper i have to write for my government class on gun control
  21. In Texas Takel, no such things exists. There are ownership papers and such but they are not required and just change hands when you sell the gun. zyou can get a firearms registered but you dont have to, none of my familys guns are registered. Person to person sales are legal, (my dad bought a glock 17 from his coworker which he gave to me) and the only time you do a background check is when you buy from a store. But before Newtown, you could literally buy AR-15s at walmart. THe only thing we have like what you';re talking about is yes CHL (concealed handgun license), but you only get that if you want to carry a gun on you on a day-to-day basis, and you have to be 21 to get that. This is a poor viewpoint to have, as it is easy for a bureacracy to make it practically impossible to purchase a gun. See McDonald vs. Chicago. "An experienced hunter, McDonald legally owned shotguns, but believed them too unwieldy in the event of a robbery, and wanted to purchase a handgun for personal home defense. Due to Chicago's requirement that all firearms in the city be registered, yet refusing all handgun registrations after 1982 when a citywide handgun ban was passed, he was unable to legally own a handgun. As a result, in 2008, he joined three other Chicago residents in filing a lawsuit which became McDonald v. Chicago" Obviously this was stricken down. but my point just is that making it too difficult to get a gun and "jump through an excessive amount of hoops" inherently goes against our constitutional rights. Also, again don't forget that AR-15s shoot a .223, which is not an exceptionally large or powerful round. a 9mm is a larger bullet, obviously a .45 ACP is as well. The same damage could have just as easily been done with a quality assortment of pistols. this guy just happened to have a mother who had posession of an AR-15, so this crazy person decided to pick that as a weapon to slaughter children. Who's really to blame here? the gun? the mother? the mentally unstable person? I wanna pose a question to this debate. Most people could agree this country is on the verge of massive financial problems. Let's say the financial system collapses, and lets say that facilitates a collapse of the government. Panic and anarchy ensues. How are the police going to protect you if they dont have money to run their operation? Is the national guard gonna roll into your neighborhood and protect your home? My point simply is people should have the ability to protect themselves in the event that the government cannot protect them. and if armed gangs armed with illegal automatic weapons come knocking on your door to take what you have, i dont think your 7 round 9mm will be sufficient. unfortunately martinez, they did. After the shooting, there were dozens of news channels that ONLY covered the shooting, a hundred percent, several spreading misinformation. i know, my stepmom watched them for 3 days straight. shes obessessed with shootings when they happen, and i know shes not the only person in this country whos like that. The media gives these guys so much attention its sick.
