Ban Request :: Bullet
Holland 1st MRB replied to Grenoble 1st MRB's topic in Military Police Archives - DoD:S
Just for the sake of putting it out there; I witnessed the situation, and the intention of the person in question was certainly to cause a problem. It would already be done, but unfortunately in a stroke of brilliance, I announced in the pub that the guy needed a permanent ban right after the incident, which likely contributed to his fleeing our server. It could not have been a more obvious situation. -

Holland 1st MRB replied to J. Anderson 1st MRB's question in Hardware Guides & Maintenance Questions
Post the specs of your laptop. If it is a laptop, you don't need to worry as much about taking it apart, but still, blow out the vents and fans. More importantly, be sure that you are not using it in a confined area, that it is not sitting in sunlight at any time, and that you are not making any attempt to overclock your hardware. -

Holland 1st MRB replied to J. Anderson 1st MRB's question in Hardware Guides & Maintenance Questions
How well ventilated is your computer? If you have it in any confined spaces, against a wall, desk, or etc. be sure that the vents are not being obstructed in any way, and that they have room to breath. As well, check to see how dusty your computer is. If the components are clogged with dust, it will gradually start to heat up over time and heavier usage (as in games), and will very easily cause those random lag spikes after 10 minutes or so. It is simple enough to do, just take the cover off your PC, and blow it out. Blow some air from the inside of the fan to the outside, and be sure that your fan is set to an appropriate speed. (Some computers have a small knob on the outside to set the fan speed, some have a control on the inside. Others may have to be controlled via software. Some are automatically set based on temperature.) -

Well that is quite different. Are you running any configs? I would strongly suggest the one posted here. (near the bottom of the first post) If that does not work, please post the specs for your PC here. We will be able to assist you in optimizing your game further. -

Holland 1st MRB replied to J. Anderson 1st MRB's question in Hardware Guides & Maintenance Questions
What has brought you to believe that it is your computer, instead of your connection? Wireless internet is notoriously unreliable and connections fluctuate rapidly. You should find out what kind of service you use, such as DSL, mobile, satellite, wireless ISP, etc. This could help explain why your connection fluctuates. What are others on your network doing? (IE. downloading, playing games over the internet, streaming video (youtube), web browsing, etc) I am not asking for specific examples. If your connection is running to multiple machines, then your router will be distributing bandwidth to the multiple connections, which would cause your connection to spike under strain. -
Welcome! Always love to see our pubbers posting on the forums, and good luck with the enlistment.

The hell you talking about Martinez? I couldn't tell a difference between you, or most other newscasters I have seen. Did a fine job, sounded very professional. -
Looks great! Haven't had pulled pork for a long time.

I am truly shocked that you do not have any form of compression software to unpack a .zip or .rar At this point, I truly do not know how to effectively take this ticket further. I urge you to speak with either your brother or your parents in order to obtain permission, as that is the only resolution I feasibly see for this at the moment. This topic will remain open until there is some form of resolution, and I will be continuing to look into this. Though I have strong doubts that there is anything left for me to add. My apologies that I cannot be of any further assistance to this problem, Holland

Good to hear this was resolved. One of the first things you should do when experiencing a strange game problem, is to restart your computer. Especially if it is a newly installed game. -

^^^ Along with McDowells suggestion. Don't fret too much. If it is a digital copy, there will be no problem with the game itself. Is this a digital or physical copy of the game? What kind of specs does your computer have? Compare them to the recommended specs for the game. Was the game recently updated? Has the game worked in the past, or is it your first time running it? Restart your computer. Try it again. Verify your game cache. -
Download the .zip that Lafy was kind enough to re-pack for me.
-
Does it do this when you attempt to open the .rar/.zip, or the .exe?

Welcome to our forums! Glad you are enjoying the server.

Holland 1st MRB replied to Lalonde's question in Hardware Guides & Maintenance Questions
Be sure that nobody else on your network is using your connection extensively (downloading). What kind of connection are you running? (wired, wireless) What kind of service do you use? (DSL, dish, etc.) Is your computer operating system or anti-virus attempting to update itself? Be sure your connections has some kind of protection. Nothing is more annoying then a neighbor piggy-backing on nearby unprotected networks. On a related note, how about that weather? If you aren't on a wired service, weather conditions can and will affect your connectivity. If everything is optimal, get into contact with your ISP to inquire further. They could be performing maintenance, or having minor technical difficulties. Can't know if something is going on, unless you check. -
You should be able to unpack .rar with most any file compression software (winzip, winrar, etc). If you don't have any such software, you need to download some. If your file associations do not recognize the .rar file, simply click the "select a program from a list" option, and find any compression software (WinZip, 7zip, WinRar, etc)

This should work, but please post back confirming whether or not it does. Keep in mind, if you are not running it with administrative privileges, you will not be able to speak into ventrilo unless it is the active window. http://www.megafileupload.com/en/file/3505...ntrilo-rar.html

You may have been experiencing a spike in internet activity for your area, a very short connection problem, or even the server lagging a bit. Nevertheless, I doubt that it is a problem on your end, but rather a problem with your connection (ISP side), or our servers. We have been having some minor lag issues with our server this past week. -
Have a great one buddy!
