  1. Happy birthday.
  2. Happy birthday bud!
  3. I will assume that you are running Windows 7 then. The exe will be ready shortly after I get back to my home PC. EDIT: There will be a delay on that. Turns out it is going to take a little longer than expected to have this done. Continuing to work on it. In the meantime, I strongly suggest you are attempting to acquire permission to install it. How ever you need to do it. Not only will it be less hassle for both of us, the properly installed program will work much better than any alternative I could provide.
  4. The server has gone down. It will be back up shortly.
  5. What OS does your system run? Specify whether it is 64x or otherwise. To find your OS information, right click the "My computer" or "Computer" icon and press "Properties".
  6. Windows 7 is a bit more annoying to obtain the password without changing it. I am assuming that we do not want to change the admin password, as that would immediate warn his brother what has happened. Though being hysterical, would defeat its own purpose. I can redesign the ventrilo executable to not require an installation, though, as there are no admin privileges, he would not be able to speak in vent while having the window inactive.
  7. What McDowell meant by "credentials", was the login information for your brothers account (ie. password).
  8. Best advice; talk to your brother. If you are respectful enough of him, he will allow you to do so. I have siblings myself, and I am aware of just how difficult they like to be at times, and so if this does not work, appeal to your parents. If absolutely none of that is an option, don't be too disapointed, just reply here. I will assist you further at that time.
  9. At least the main issue was resolved. I wish we could do more about the malfunctioning keys. Thank you for your response.
  10. Well, at least it was fixed. Good to hear the problem was resolved.
  11. Welcome aboard Mottola. Good to have you.
  12. If the problem is fluctuating like it is, I would suspect your internet connection. If the problem persists, contact your ISP. Happy to hear that it is improving though.
  13. Sounds great! Hope it works out nicely for you.
  14. I would have to turn my attention to your internet connection itself. I myself, operate under a kind of wireless internet (mostly due to the lack of option for my area), which tends to fluctuate under certain circumstances (multiple connections, weather conditions, humidity, etc) At times, I experience much of the same problem. It is due to your internet connection. The problem should not be constant, and should improve over time. Same thing for dish/satellite, etc. If you are connected through a hardwire (Phone line, power line, fiber optics, etc.), than I would suggest you contact your ISP. They should be able to help you further diagnose whether it is your problem, or theirs, and often have dedicated staff on-hand to troubleshoot these issues.
  15. Is this still a problem? Please reply confirming whether or not the issue has been resolved, so that we may attempt to assist you further.
  16. Be sure that your DOD:S executable is being run as an administrator, and is not being hindered in anyway by a firewall or anti-virus. If the packets being sent and received from DOD:S are being intercepted and scanned by a firewall/anti-virus, it would most certainly be slowing down your connection for the individual game. Unfortunately, this would open your computer to the possibility of infection via downloading content from servers. If you are comfortable with this, then make an exception on your firewall/AV for the DOD:S executable (The name is probably along the lines of hl2.exe, but verify that in your process manager).
  17. How did this work out? Is it fixed? If not, it is also possible to simply remove the messages that harass you. Keep in mind though, your copy would still not be genuine, and so you would be unable to receive updates for your OS.
  18. This may, or may not be an option; (Taken directly from the "Microsoft Answers" community) Manual Phone Activation If you have trouble activating Windows 7 open the Windows Activation Wizard while in Windows 7 to use the phone and activate Windows: 1. When you reach the desktop click Start, then in the Search box type: slui.exe 4 2. Press Enter on your Keyboard 3. Select your Country. 4. Select the Phone Activation option, then call the number given and hold for a real person. For more details: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/18715...ws-7-phone.html
  19. Welcome to the unit, and good luck.
  20. *facepalms* Yama, my mistake. Both mail and email are viable options (though as stated, a government organization would only accept physical mail).
  21. You can quickly and easily find a line in a text document by pressing Ctrl + F, and pasting in the line Rather has posted.
  22. Yama is certainly on the correct train of thought. Myself, dealing with website design (with integrated services) in the past, have had to deal with copyright issues for clients too often. Sadly, though the idea is very creative, it would be difficult to execute in a legal manner, without prior granted permissions. I would not adivise putting anything related to DOD:S, or the 1st MRB's name (logo is fine) on any merchandise, to avoid problems with Valve, or the US armed forces. If we begin to coordinate a decent effort on this, it would be simple enough to contact the proper representatives to gain permission to use the 1st MRB name on merchandise. If it can be shown that we are not attempting to present the name in a bad light, or gain personal wealth or power from the idea/name, it is likely that we will be granted permission to use the name. Though, as usual, it depends on who we end up dealing with. Certain people will be willing to put more effort into our request than others. Copyright permissions do not always need to be a major legal action. Many requests are as simple as an email. A simple screenshot and/or saved copy of the email is valid proof of permission, unless we begin bringing in large profits (given the sources of income) via sales and donations.
