  1. What other programs do you have running in the background? Windows Live has been known to lag my network connection quite considerably, and I have heard of similar problems with people using Skype, though nothing outside of those two. Is your computer downloading updates for your OS or AV software? Who else (if any) are on your connection? If possible, try to limit your outbound connection to steam, and DOD:S, and see if it improves at all.
  2. Has this been resolved as of yet? Please confirm whether or not this is still an issue. I am sure somebody with the appropriate knowledge would be able to assist you further.
  3. Happy birthday bud! Have a great one!
  4. Thank you for responding. Happy to hear it was resolved.

  6. Another amazing video from Tate! Great job!
  7. Happy Birthday!
  8. Sounds good Yama. I wasn't sure of the workings of IP Boards, though certain lesser quality BBS do not work so smoothly.
  9. When you press Print Screen, it will be put onto your "clipboard". It works just as if you had copied a line of text. Instead of the text, it is an image.
  10. Press the Print Screen button, usually located at the top of the keyboard, next to the Scroll Lock key. This will copy an image of your screen. Then go to any image editor (MS Paint for example), and paste it. From there, crop it as needed, save it, and upload it.
  11. Is this still a problem? Please post back stating if it has been resolved, or if it still needs to be assisted.
  12. Try removing any configs you may have. (move them in a separate area outside of your DOD:S folder)
  13. Is this still a problem? Please post back stating if it has been resolved, or if it still needs to be assisted. Which two codes did Marsden give you? If you don't remember, please ask him to give them to you again.

  15. Stating that you are following Yama's steps is not enough, and effectively giving us nothing to help you from. Follow this checklist; if you have everything in it, then I would assume the problem is within the system. Main topic title Poll title At least one poll question At least two choices within that poll question Main topic text If an admin with permissions access could double check forum permissions between user groups. I understand Yama has already double checked, but perhaps there is conflicting permissions between user groups. (ie. the "Corporal user group" allows polls, whereas the "Normal user group" does not.) Edit: I was able to make a poll in the Sports section. Please look closely at the content of your topic, and make absolutely sure that you have filled what is required in. Be sure that you are putting choices inside the questions (perhaps we are making two questions, instead of two choices).
  16. Happy Birthday Marsden!
  17. Well, good to hear it was resolved. Occasionally on some PC setups, Steam has been known to take up 50% of a core, and would have been my second suggestion to you. If it happens again, try this; -Shut down Steam (Completely, from the task menu as well) -Go to your Steam install folder -Delete Steam.dll -Restart Steam If that does not work, repeat the steps, but delete clientregistry.blob instead. This has been a reported fix for similar problems that claim to be caused by Steam itself.
  18. Hm. Sorry for the hassle, though I don't think I can effectively help you by guessing what is going on. If possible, please post a step by step guide on what exactly you are doing. Every mouse click, key stroke. It should help me figure out exactly what is not being done.
  19. Ah, right. What that means, is that you cannot simply post a poll on its own. You must put some words in the main text box as well (IE, an explanation of the poll)
  20. What exactly are you trying to do? Which forum are you putting a topic in? What are the steps you are taking? What is happening in response to your attempt? (Access denied screen, simply nothing, no poll option what-so-ever, etc.) Just to clarify, you must post polls in a separate topic. You cannot reply with a poll.
  21. BBS (Bulletin Board Systems) such as this, always have default "group" permissions. An admin would have to modify the permissions for your account specifically. Likelihood of an admin giving forum permissions to one specific person however, I would imagine being quite low. You may or may not be able to post polls in the Slope Chute. (haven't checked). I will keep this topic open, until a forum admin with permissions access can confirm or deny your request. EDIT :: I have gone through most of the major sections of the forum, and I can post polls in most all of them. Although, I do have a restricted moderator status on the forums, due to my office positions. This would mean I have different permissions than normal users, and could be the reason I can post polls. Unfortunately, I am assuming that only Parker, Yama, and perhaps a few select others have access to modify permissions. I will contact my superiors in the MSO, and see if they can contact somebody to look into this further.
  22. First thing you should check is if your computer is cooling properly. You have given the perfect description and outcome of a very dusty computer. Make sure the computer is completely powered down. Blow out your fans, clear the computer of as much dust as you can. You should do this ideally with compressed air, though a vacuum will suffice if you are gentle. Carefully take the cover off of the computer, blow that out as well. Be sure you are not contacting any of the wiring or components as a precaution. Start it up again, and try it. Laptops collectively tend to over-heat if left on indefinitely over long periods of time (even in sleep or power save mode). Be sure that if you are not going to be using your computer (IE. while you sleep), that you are allowing it to cool down properly via turning it off. Please post back informing us if this has helped the problem. EDIT: As well, be sure you aren't making any attempts to overclock your hardware.
  23. It is certainly a cool idea. We will see what the men in charge think about it.
  24. Sorry to hear that man. Feel free to post up again if you find you might be getting one again.
  25. There's always next month. As Cast said, you know what to expect now.
