Has the problem been resolved? I saw you in the pub earlier, so I would assume you have it working. Please confirm resolution of the problem, and if possible, what you did to resolve it.

Alternatively, you can type "r_shadows 1" (without quotes) into the console. It fixed the problem, but is a bit of a pain, as you will have to do it every time you enter the game.

Thank you for contacting the MSO office. If your video card is not overheating or clogged up with dust as previously stated, please be sure that all of your drivers are up to date. People are always amazed about just how correct your post is. Almost daily I get calls about peoples computer crashing, and not turning back on. Solution? Unplug it from power bar, plug it back in. Works every single time. People complaining about program errors, first thing I usually tell them, restart your computer. It works, solving atleast 40% of all issues I am confronted with (on a basic level).

For Steam, do the steps I posted earlier. That should get it working. If all of these problems persist after a restart, I would strongly suggest a reformat.

Follow these steps: 1)Exit Steam 2)Go to your steam directory (program files/steam) 3)Delete everything in that directory EXCEPT for steam.exe and the steamapps folder 4)Restart Steam ALSO, it might be a good idea to take the side panels of your PC anyways, just to clean it out. Dust is the largest culprit for overheating, despite PC fans.
