What's the situation of this ticket? Is the problem resolved? Do you require further assistance?

Provided all your games are in the steam installation folder (as opposed to different drives), please try the -clearbeta command in the command line of steam, and get back to me with the results. I will continue to look for a solution.

This appears to be a common problem with Steam beta releases. Go into your steam settings, in the account tab, and look for the beta participation section. Opt out of all beta programs. Don't worry, you will still get steam updates like everyone else. Alternatively, you can input -clearbeta into the command line in steam. Note, do not attempt this step if your steam games are installed on a drive other than the default steam installation folder.

Try rolling back the driver for your optical drive. Previous driver version should be available from the manufacturers website.

In Chrome, at the top right of the screen you will see a button with three horizontal lines. Click that, and click the settings option. On the settings page, you will see an option to view advanced settings at the bottom of the page. Click it. Scroll down until you see the languages section. Click the button that reads "Languages and spellchecker settings" Set the language to whichever you like. FireFox would be a similar setup, just find the options section and you should be able to find a language setting.

Before this gets out of hand, let's clarify that the Politics? forum is here for reasonably respectful political arguments. It is acceptable to judge another's view on a subject, however, it is unacceptable to attack an individual based on that view. So let's remember that this is viewpoints clashing, and should not be members.

To rally support for your cause is a respectable thing to do. However... I have a problem with this comparison. To anybody who could explain such things to me, in which ways are these two even remotely similar?

I believe it was just released today. Anyways, it was a good release in my opinion. Well worth the time spent watching it.

Check the device manager, in the DVD/CD-ROM drives section. Check if it is recognizing the corresponding device for your optical drive. The device you are looking for should look like the following; Example: hp DVD A DH16AAL SCSI Cdrom device The manufacturer name (hp), DVD A, followed by a product number (DH16AAL).

Go into the control panel, and find the "Speech Recognition" option. Once you have clicked on that, go into "Set up microphone". Follow the steps provided.

Blue Screen's of Death are caused by hardware or driver errors, and sometimes updates. Has anything changed on your system recently? (Updates?) Does this happen with other Uplay games? (FarCry3, Anno2070, any others you might have) Update your drivers. Make sure your computer is getting adequate airflow, and is not getting choked by dust. If you haven't done it for a while, could be worth taking the case off, and cleaning it. If it does happen again, make a note of any troubleshooting or diagnostic data it gives you. Note; According to a similar case, running the game without administrative privileges fixed it. You may want to attempt it, however, wouldn't hold too much hope for this.
