Resolved - New computer
Holland 1st MRB replied to Quarterman 1st MRB's question in Hardware Guides & Maintenance Questions
If you take a screenshot of any error messages, it would help us massively to diagnose your problems. -
BEDMAS (Brackets, Exponents, Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction) (part of Canadian pre-high school math curriculum) dictates that the answer would be 9. Further more : http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=6%C3%B72%281%2B2%29

Resolved - New computer
Holland 1st MRB replied to Quarterman 1st MRB's question in Hardware Guides & Maintenance Questions
If viable, I strongly suggest you do away with Panda security. In my opinion, one of the worst security systems for performance ever made, and quite honestly, far more annoying than helpful. -
Do you turn off your computer?
Holland 1st MRB replied to Parker 1st MRB's question in Hardware Guides & Maintenance Questions
Though it is true that it will have some affect on the life of your computer, it most definitely will not be drastic. In most cases, your PC does not heat up enough to do any damage upon starting up/shutting down (depending on where it is located, room temperature, computer case, ventilation). If you have one of those auto-switch thermometers in your house (the kind that turn the temp down at night), it could increase the effect of the potential damage drastically, though in most cases, it would not be much of a factor. If it is an option, putting your computer to sleep mode is a good option. The benefits towards shutting down your PC would mostly based around money. PC is turned on, power is being used. In many cases, that power can add up significantly. Secondly, leaving your PC on (NOT including leaving it in sleep), there will be much unneeded wear and tear on your system. On a absolute basic level, you can think of it in terms of the moving parts themselves. If the PC is on, the fans are running. Processes are running. Signals being sent. I feel this is likely the most effective way that I could explain it, without going into too much technical detail. -
Great picture. Always good to see examples of where our basis came from.

Absolutely. Though I never have problems with overheating, it is always a good thing to give it a reboot once in a while. -
Resolved - Lag Spikes
Holland 1st MRB replied to Roussel 1st MRB's question in Hardware Guides & Maintenance Questions
It is possible for background programs to be the source of bad FPS spikes, if your PC is maxing out. Otherwise, it would be a problem with the network/internet connection. If you check with your roommates, be sure nobody is making any major downloads or such, it should solve your problem. If it does not, you might want to get in contact with your ISP or landlord about your internet issues. They may be having technical problems with their equipment, servers, or other. -
Resolved - Lag Spikes
Holland 1st MRB replied to Roussel 1st MRB's question in Hardware Guides & Maintenance Questions
Check through your startup processes/services, and disable any unnecessary ones. This can be done through the Control Panel -> Administrative tools -> Services. Be sure to Google a process if you do not know what it is. (just use the name of the process.) If your computer isn't the cause of your lag spikes, than the only viable option would be your internet connection. Be sure you are the only one in your house using it, or if that's not possible, at least make sure nobody is downloading. As well, be sure to CLOSE (some programs minimize to the tray in the bottom right) programs like Windows Live, skype, etc. -
Did I really spend that much on steam?
Holland 1st MRB replied to Costa 1st MRB's topic in Other Games
Same here actually, not sure what is going on with that. -
Did I really spend that much on steam?
Holland 1st MRB replied to Costa 1st MRB's topic in Other Games
It's amazing just how fast the $ value of steam accounts can grow to be so massive. Strangely, I don't recall spending nearly as much money when I had to buy hard copies of games. -

Looks to be a nice system you have put together for yourself. -

Whatever keeps you going, shouldn't be crisized. If you enjoy it, go for it, it is hardly our place to be judging you on it. -
Esmeralda means "Emerald" or "Green Gemstone". It's a good name, fits her well.

Congrats, Visca. Looks like a good one.

Just enough sanity left to make a legible post. Not enough to make it relate to anything. 0.0

Christ... These guys have nerves of steel. I was getting nervous just watching them climb, but once they hit the top of the tower... To put it simply, I would have pissed/shit myself 1,760 times before I got to the top. -
... My mind is blown ...

Absolutely have to love YGS.

Just earlier today, my printer "mysteriously" found it's way flying through the air, smashing into my porch railing, and scattering over my front lawn. (A similar situation as in the video...) Needless to say, this made me stand up, look out my window, and laugh my ass off.

Last night, I received a complaint from one of our regular pubbers (who will remian unnamed), about one LazyJary. He claimed that whenever Lazy was aiming at him, he would freeze for a few seconds, and afterwhich he (the person issuing the complaint) would die. He seemed to have isolated the problem to Lazy, and told me that a number of other pubbers were having the same problem with Lazy. As no admins were on at the time, the person who issued the complaint asked that I inform an admin about the problem, which I did.

Strange. Replaced the link with a different one.

This was a commercial that aired on T.V. not too long ago. Obviously these are legit.
