So for the ENTIRE month of October, I will be traveling Europe...most of which will be spent in and around England. Now I've talked to a few 1stMRB ppl who are in England, but since I'll be there for a month with very minimal work to do and a lot of disposable income, I want to meet EVERYONE. Maybe plan a big ol' LAN party in a hotel conference room. Just go all out. This may or may be related to a new book deal, and this may entail that anyone there can get a copy of the unedited discontinued copy of the book I was going to publish : ) SO, people in England, during the month of October...who wants to meet? I've already convinced Cast, which took like 2524 hours, though she's not too kind on the LAN party...but who else is in England wants to meet up? I'll be arriving on the 3rd of October in London and basically staying until the end of the month, but will be traveling all around (renting one of those super cars, gonna be so much fun!). SO, if you want to meet up, message me or post here your city and when during the month is best. Also, if you don't feel comfortable with me staying with you, maybe provide one of the best hotels in your area. I'm coming with a lot of disposable income and really want to just go balls-out for the month. ALSO, if anyone has ever organized a LAN party anywhere there, let me know where you did it. If all these things fall into place, and I see that there are good # of you within a certain distance, I'll even go as far as to provide transportation and lodging for every Euro member to come have a huge LAN party with me! SUPER excited! Been all over Asia and Australia and everywhere in between, but never Europe. This goes out to any German or other European members too. I'm not limiting myself JUST to the UK, and with that fancy car...kinda want to go on long drives : ) weee!

Sorry I never commented on this before, totally slipped my mind. I'll be buying some of the suggested parts and working my way up with a friend of mine who is also building a PC himself. We're going to familiarize ourselves with the stuff as we go, so I'll probably be posting again when/if I run into problems. Thanks for the help Lafy/Graves/Arevicci you rage quitter!

[edit: small this is something different!] So I've been talking to Cribari on Steam and we figured out it was one of these two things; either it was due to him trying to play the demo from the folder itself, instead of within DOD:S (he double clicked on the demo itself, and with .dem files being associated with hl2.exe, it should open DOD:S...but was not working), OR it was due to a conflict between the custom files from the last SteamPipe update. The following fix is for the latter issue. Before continuing with this (to anyone experiecing this problem in the future), first try opening DOD:S, open console, and type playdemo demonamehere.dem....if it plays, it's ok. If not, continue) So I asked Cribari to make a folder in his steam\steamapps\common\dayofdefeat\dod\custom folder (he actually already had one from when the update took place, but I asked him to make another, called whateveryouwant). In it, he copied all the data from the steam\steamapps\common\dayofdefeat\dod\downloads (which is where the custom stuff used to go) into it, and is reporting that it fixed the problem. This was caused by the update. It changed the location of the folder in which custom files get saved from the dod\download into dod\custom. Now, the update was SUPPOSED to fix this, but it didn't fix it 100%. It seems any NEW custom stuff will work while playing the game itself, but trying to play back demos results in this error because the custom files didn't get placed into the proper place by the game itself. The only downside to this is that by having two subfolders in the custom folder, the game will have to go through all of that stuff before it runs. If this is noticeable, you can just delete the oldest version of the folder. SO, let's say you had a folder already in the dod\custom that had all your custom stuff, let's call it dod\custom\mycustomstuff. You make a new subfolder, let's call it dod\custom\mycustomstuff2, and copy everything from dod\download over there. Now, you can try deleting the old mycustomstuff (first make a copy of it in case the deletion messes things up) if you're pretty sure you copied everything again into the new folder, and when the game loads, it'll only have to go through that one folder...but if anything is missing, it'll come up with this error when you try to play demos, or WORSE; it'll have a error when trying to play the game. If the load time is not noticeably different, just keep both folders.

Have server logs from Yama but don't see anything out of the ordinary....yet. PM me if you want to take a look too, there's a lot to go through, but both Yama and I couldn't find a thing : (

Over the past few weeks, there have been at least 4 pubbers who have come to me with complaints about him team wounding and harassing them when no 1stMRB is on the server. I would try to spectate and catch him, but he would never misbehave if any of us were online. One of the frequent pubbers came to me again tonight, asking if I could do anything about it as he had been targeting them every single time they would play together (this is the same story from 2 other pubbers; he targets individuals and harasses them over the span of week(s)). I was able to catch him team wounding by using a pseudonym and put a week ban on, but I think this player needs to be permanently removed from the server. This will be his fourth ban (as seen here), and while most were short bans, I do not think the admins knew the extent of his behavior. The fact that this guy only goes after certain people, harassing them and accusing them of team wounding when 1stMRB are present (he would often admin msg me many times in a round saying he was being team wounded or team killed when it was an obvious accident) is bad enough, but completely ruining other player's experiences when no one is on and doing so in such a manner that catching him took a long time clearly demonstrates that he has no intention of ever behaving in this server. The prosecution rests...for now.

That 1.5% negative is actually within the margin of error so by the power invested in me by the all-mighty Sloth, I hereby declare all sloth and sloth-related entities to officially be the best.
