  1. What a game. My dad is not happy, nor is the rest of his family. I AM THO : )
  2. I tried to skype with my friend in Italy, but the huge windows behind me provided way too much glare for the webcam so I had to turn my computer around and sit on the floor like a caveman.
  3. Plus, there are TONS of singles in my area looking just for me! They are constantly trying to chat with me but I'm way too cool for them hos
  4. is it batsloth, or slothman? the world may never know.
  5. Matsumoto is mine, just a general naivety all the time. Then Hamada (though he can get so damn mean sometimes). THEN poor Yamasaki. When he gets slapped in the 24hr batsu games (by that big scary looking guy whose name is escaping me), I FEEL SO BAD, especially after the 1st one because when that guy shows up in the next one (the one in the school with the "military" that show up), Yama's face just drops...he knows what is about to happen. For those who have no clue what this is, you've most likely seen them before; GIFs of the show are popular and in the past few years, a huge task force of translators have gone about adding English subtitles to the shows (here(ps: has gotten the OK from the show's producers, so not illegal)) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Downtown_no_G...a_Arahende!! = wiki Some of the humor makes a lot more sense, I think, if you're familiar with Japanese culture, but the 24hr batsu games are hilarious no matter who you are. These 5 guys are pushed through all sorts of environments and tasks and they can't laugh (sometimes, can't be scared)...if they do, they get punished. Famous Japanese entertainers are brought onto the show to play roles (complete with scripts that are then mocked by all involved). The 24hr ones are usually 6+ hours long episodes, so it provides entertainment for a while. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT : )
  6. I love that they included the middle finger while he's eating the pizza, just like in the actual show's opening. Louie cracks me up constantly. It isn't even about the jokes themselves, but the delivery and timing and general sensibilities of the man get me laughing even if he's talking about fucking Hitler's mother while his dick is bigger than a monkey's paw; it's something nonsensical that wouldn't be very funny if anyone else said it, but if it comes from him, I laugh.
  7. AWW I love Downtown !
  8. That's 100% legit. You should smoke more McD. Can't, I value my security clearance more than a good time
  9. I'm in lesbians with you gearhard. THANKS! Nic Cage thanks you too.
  10. I LOVE this man. I've been in contact with his son for a while now (met through the Reddit AMA's his dad was doing from orbit) and were in talks about a biography on him, but I'm not sure what's happening with those now. Either way, this man is a true teacher; he spent SO much effort and energy getting people involved in the space program, not only to educate but also to help raise a future generation of explorers. Like Bill Nye and Neil deGrasse Tyson, he is not just concerned with the science, but also with making sure others understand and appreciate its importance. Truly a visionary and if I was Canadian, I'd be super proud to have him hail from my land. That said, as an Earthling, I'm still proud...he is a fresh breeze for NASA and its under-appreciated funding/support from the U.S. government.
  11. I thought this would be an inspiring post to all those middle aged, overweight, women who resemble Wookies that no matter what you look like, where you come from, what your sex life is like, that you will still be judged by your cover by pretentious assholes like Simon. Dear baby Jesus, please don't let me dream of that tonight.
  12. Yay! GJ Cutts! (course I knew it all along, just wanted everyone else to learn it on their own *cough*)
  13. Well I'm REALLY close to self-publishing my book (the one that was supposed to come out in January but has since been postponed indefinitely), so assuming I'm as good a writer as I pretend to be, reading it should help accomplish that! Also, I'm on this anti-anxiety medication that is relatively new to the market, and since starting it, I have been having really abstract dreams...so you could always try taking some of those and seeing what happens.
  14. That I was living inside a huge sea turtle. As in, actually inside its shell, just sharing the space with this fleshy turtle body, and anytime I needed something I'd tell the turtle and somehow his flipper would retract into the shell and hand it to me. At one point, I requested some eggs, and sure enough...he gave me a dozen eggs, and I proceeded to cook them on his body. He started screaming, and I, for whatever reason, told him "It's worth it buddy! I make the best omelettes". I woke up feeling so bad.
  15. It'll be in the Steam folder. Not steamapps or DOD, but the actual Steam folder that you open up after ProgramFilesx86 (or Programfiles, depending on your OS) So it'll look like C:\Programfiles\Steam . Right in there, find that ClientRegistry.blob. If you care about preserving ALL data ALL the time, just rename it to something else, but in reality, you can delete it and it won't affect much of what you use. Up to you though. Once you do that, restart steam; it'll try to locate that file and when it can't, will redownload it.
  16. How about the ol' Delete Clientregistry.blob (or rename it to Clientregistryold.blob) and restart steam, forcing it to redownload? Tried that yet?
  17. And after doing what yama suggested, restart steam.
  18. I'm trying to figure why the 大名 (daimyo) method, where you hold two chopstick sets without breaking either apart, is named so. First, the daimyo were territorial lords in Japan that held most of the respective power (via land ownership) between the 12th century and up until the unification of the Empire (1868). The first kanji in the word, dai 大, means large, while the second 名 (みょう or myo) when used in conjunction with dai means private land (it is short for myōden (名田)). However, 名 can also mean distinguished, noted, and is also the first kanji in the term for name, 名前 (なまえ, namae) So I don't get it : ( Also, for the record, NEVER use the "international style". I know it is a joke, but in case anyone ever goes to Japan and remembers this video, DO NOT DO IT. It is considered extremely rude to stab at your food with the chopsticks. Just ask for silverware; almost every restaurant will have some. Also, one more fun fact, it is considered rude to leave your chopsticks poked into your ramen bowl (or any bowl of food). Instead, you either lay them across the top, or on the table; never leave them in the food. It is rude, but also considered unlucky for not only you, but anyone else around you. The Japanese take their food very seriously sometimes.
  19. "I know you said you had to leave urgently".... I WONDER WHY. [edit: dammit arse, beat me by a minute]
  20. Im only rooting for Detroit because I have to build up my hatred for the rest of my life against the Hawks. I really hope San Jose makes it to the finals. HA, that just reminded me that I was born in San Jose so there is even more (potential) turmoil now in my little hockey world.
  21. OH GOOD GOD YES, I forgot I saw that. BLEW MY MIND. But neat! I was really hoping someone would come and say it is worth it for those types of movies. Also, Avatar was bad in terms of plot, character development, storyline, and all those...but I went in knowing all that would suck. I just wanted my eyeballs to be entertained and hotdamn were they ever.
  22. My mother would like me to take her to see the new Star Trek movie in IMAX next weekend, and I'm wondering has anyone here seen the movie? And if so, did you see it in IMAX? Also, if you haven't, but have seen another similar actiony or sci-fi movie in IMAX, was it worth the price? I went and saw Avatar in IMAX way back when, and it was so much fun (in part because I was stoned, but also because my mom had a blast), but that was Avatar...it was kinda made to be seen in such a manner. So basically, what are people's thoughts on IMAX?
