  1. Link It's fucked up. In the reddit thread on this article, a writer did a magnificent short story/prose piece about it and I felt compelled to share it with ya'll. I've followed this guy's work for a while, but by far this is the closest he's written to my heart. Link to comment The story: Two hundred twenty pounds of muscle. Fourteen medals, including two purple hearts. Forty eight confirmed kills to his name, and not a single friend left in the living world. He'd seen them all go. Over there, the death of a friend was surreal, almost as if it was temporary. The military told them to bury it deep, to pretend it didn't affect them. He always told himself, "That's war. That's how it has to be." Between the sleepless nights and the unpredictable bloodshed that hallmarked the Middle Eastern Conflict, he didn't have time to think. He didn't have time to wonder if the Military cared about any of them. When his sergeant found out he had been crying in his bunk, his sergeant took him out to the marching grounds in the middle of the night. "You are a killing machine! Say it, damn it! YOU. ARE. A. KILLING. MACHINE." "I am a killing machine!" "Louder, Soldier!" "*I AM A KILLING MACHINE!" "Say it again! You are a machine! You do not feel! You do not care! All you do is kill! Say it again!" His sergeant made him shout it, over and over, until the blistering sun rose above the mountains, and his voice was nothing more than a painful rasp. The conflict never ended, but his tour did. When he came back Stateside, it wasn't the guilt that broke him. It was the fear - the fear that he'd never be a normal human being again. The fear that nobody cared about him, because he was just a broken machine. He sat in the kitchen, in his full combat gear. He clutched his M4 to his chest, tears streaming down his cheeks. That's when he saw it. There was a magnet on his fridge. It was blue, and had bright, white lettering that read, "Need something, soldier? Call the VA Hotline Anytime, Day or Night!" When he left, he swore he would never take another order from the Military. But this time, it didn't feel like an order. It felt like, for once, maybe they were trying to help. He picked up his phone, so new he had never used it to call anyone, and dialed the number. Ring. His heart fluttered. Maybe it was different over here, in the States. Ring. Maybe they did care about him, here. Ring. Maybe they weren't lying. Maybe they really wanted to help him become human again. Ring. Click. "Hello? Hello, I think I need help-" "This is the Veteran's Association Hotline. We're sorry, but nobody is able to take your call. Please leave a message and we will return your call when we can. Thank you, and have a nice day!" His hands wrapped tightly around his M4. Or maybe he could be a killing machine, just one more time.
  2. HOLY CRAP, so this was really cumbersome to keep doing but when reading about the people who discovered this, found a chrome extension that does it for you : O https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/n...npelkohnbpancjf Another nifty chrome extension I use a lot, since Ecuador's netflix isn't updated as much: Zenmate. Netflix has been cracking down on these type of VPNs lately, but it still works for me. Also may require making an account now, I'm not sure, I've had one for a while so no way to tell.
  3. I had this same issue a while ago, and while I did find a fix, it wasn't the best idea. I didn't get the whole "click chrome and it doesn't open" issue again, but it seemed to slow it down the slightest bit. I changed all open tabs to run in a single process. In your chrome shortcut, go to properties, go to Target, then edit it as this: add -single-process to the end of the target line, so it should say something like ....Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" -single-process. It helped, but I ultimately removed it after a chrome update seemed to fix my issue. Chrome just loves hogging memory, so I think there is some inherent issue when trying to open it while the computer still has memory being reserved for other things (i.e. games, computer is booting, etc etc). There are also tons of things online about this very thing you can read through and figure out what works for your particular system. I think it's more trial and error than anything else though. Bueno suerte!
  4. Drugs in moderation. Pot helps a lot at night. Meth doesn't help at all. MDMA has been under being tested for a few years now in treatment of psychological disorders, as are psilocybin (psychedelic mushrooms). History of addiction, possibly should avoid or use under strict regulated observation. Plus alcohol (again, in moderation) can help stimulate social interactions when a high level of stress has removed the desire for them, and as Candy said up there, that does help a lot. Only problem is that when stressed, you don't WANT to. Music too. Listening to good music, headphones on, absorbed in it. Also playing good music, engaging in hobbies, finding the time to try to not worry. And cats.
  5. Name: pro gamer Steam I.D: STEAM_0:0:115436235 Duration of Ban: Perm Reasons for the Ban: Aimbot Demo Provided?: N, will upload if necessary. Comments: It was pretty blatant, and you can check his stat page and see the HS ratio. Still, if demo needed, I took a short one while he was rampaging away.
  6. AWWW THANKS HOMIES! I relatively love you all
  7. Shouldn't the new router help a LITTLE bit? Connecting straight into a modem is always a bit faster than other options, I thought. [edit] I have absolutely NO experience with satellite internet so correct me please if I'm wrong
  8. Deep dream pics. I put my kitty through it, the results remind me of The Thing movie. Info Code here Original Deep Dream
  9. NEAT. I love when movies do this, but I've never seen it this subtle and ... perfect. CLICK (top image is from last super man movie, bottom image is from trailer for this)
  10. To add to this, I've had to kick him multiple times in multiple situations for TK, mic spam, and general asshatery. He claims we hate Portugal because of this
  11. Post up your config here homie, let us take a gander at what you got. Just copy/paste it all also I went ahead and edited your post with the MSO form; use it next time! or ban. from life.
  12. Name: snausages Steam I.D:STEAM_0:1:19871427 Duration of Ban:Perm Reasons for the Ban: Cheets Demo Provided?: N, unless Avila got one when he was spectating. Guy was doing the whole run-backwards, shoot from across map headshot thing. Comments:l Here's his stat page...19 kills, 19 hs.
  13. I haven't seen any posts about this here. What are the opinions here? GIVE THEM ALL TO ME. I want an open discussion. I personally think there are people wrong on BOTH sides, but for the majority, I'm for the people fighting for the ethical rights of game journalism. It is NOT about hating women in games, but it IS slowly evolving into hating hypersensitive professional victims making money off controversy with hypocritical arguments. Opening up donation drives so they can tweet. What the fuck is this shit? Brianna Wu. Fem Freq. This new guy, Tariq, claiming harassment made him leave twitter when he actively searched his name online to find people disagreeing with his public articles and said they were harassing him for disagreeing. It's all a bunch of bullshit really, no one is getting killed over video games, but if nothing else, it's important because a lot of people care. Whatever people care about is important I think, so I want opinions.
  14. I have to comment here, as I've talked to Zorro many times about his mic spamming. I think it's a culture thing. He doesn't understand English that well, as ya'll can tell, but usually when I warn him he quiets down for a few minutes before something happens and he starts up again. I warn him again, he quiets down again, apologizes, and generally keeps in good spirits for the rest of the game. I honestly think just muting him would be a better option, as the times I've done this have resulted in him being quiet the next map. It doesn't require that much work on our part to mute, even if we have to do it every map, and while I understand wanting to ban him (I know I've done it in the past), he is just such a nice guy usually...makes me feel bad now to do it. That said, I'm not disagreeing with this at all...just adding my two cents since I've had to mute him about 10 times, speaking from experience and all that : )
  15. FYI it was on sale yesterday, but the sale is still going on throughout today. 5 bucks instead of $20. It MAY go cheaper in a flash sale later in the week, but if you want it...I'd just get it now. can't go wrong with a five dollar game.
  16. 3:41 with Curtis playing the piano. The way his smile fades...goddamn hilarious.
  17. The GOOD news is that no matter who they impersonate, they cannot have administrator access. That is assigned to specific steam ID's, so they can change their name to whatever they want, they'll have no technical power. Bad news is that yea, they can change their names to whatever they want. Good catch! Impersonating MRB = perm ban.
  18. holyshit that episode was AMAZING. We got 2 more of this season yea?
  19. Name: [JBBGC] Evan39Ka Steam I.D: STEAM_0:1:56438761 Duration of Ban: Perm Reasons for the Ban: Racism Demo Provided?: N Comments: Link to chat: "Moonman moonman can't you see spiks and *bleep*s need to hang from trees" yup....
  20. Some old school 90's shit up in this bitch ya hear me. I am so white
  21. I have been following this since its inception, donated to the cause, and am SO HAPPY with the result. My gf actually loved it too, it's amazing. The director/writer/star also did an ama last night on reddit here. There are a few behind-the-scenes clips he linked in there. You'd actually be amazed at what was and wasn't CGI. BEST. MOVIE. EVER. and he has plans to make it a full-length feature film in a few years. YAY.
  22. From experience, if you can graph the same levels of latency on different computers, it is usually a provider or router issue. Along with the 3 complete interruptions of service (those red lines in the graph) within the span of 6 minutes, this points to an issue either from your home to the ISP (i.e. outside lines or router, the latter which can be fixed by just requesting a new one or updating it), or the ISP itself. I'd recommend calling them up and telling them you believe you have a frequency issue; tell them it has been happening for a month or two; tell them your income requires a reliable internet connection; do whatever it takes to get them to schedule someone to come out and test it. Even if it ISN'T a frequency issue, they will send someone out. Do not let that person leave without them either admitting they can't figure it out, or telling you what it is. They will bring a new router to try out, since that's usually the problem with these things. If that doesn't work, they'll escalate your situation to someone who CAN fix it. I did this with Time Warner about a year ago, told them it was a frequency issue (which they have to manually test on site) and it ended up forcing them to fix lines into the house and 6 months of work...but it DID eventually fix the problem when nothing else would.
  23. HEY I told him to go ahead and post it in forums, not THIS SECTION. I accept no responsibility for that part : D That said, these 12mans are ridiculously fun, and I LOVE this idea of a draft thing.
