I had an issue with a keyboard like this (but I can't for the bloody life of me remember what it was called) and after similar exercises in futility (driver rolling, anti-dusting/cleaning between keys despite it being new) I ended up deciding it was due to USB limitations while attempting to process faulty "anti-ghosting" technology (info here )that these gaming keyboards now use. I wrote Microsoft about the issue and while they never actually conceded that there was a problem at all, eventually they actually sent me shipping label to return it. After a couple weeks, got a brand new one with no issues (either that, or the one I sent to them but fixed and repackaged). I could never find a thread about it in any forum though, nor anyone reporting similar problems, but since they sent me a new one, I can only imagine it was/is a known issue. This was maybe 6 months ago. I'd say if you've tried all the logical steps (sounds like it), blame fancy yet faulty new tech and ask for a new one (hey, it worked for me)

So I was perusing reddit last night drunk as a skunk in a whiskey barrel and came across a music post from an artist I went to high school with in Japan; she started blowing up big back then, and apparently has kept it up as she is a huge success in the country now (name = Utada Hikaru). I then saw another music post of that old Suicidal Tendencies song and remembered how I got my first tattoo from their drummer back in LA in late 1999. Bryant knows some of my other run-ins with the famous when I was a male model in Tokyo (which got me access to the VIP rooms of clubs that Harrison Ford/Leo Dicap/Marlyn Manson/etc frequented), including drinking wine with Korn while they made racist comments about the Japanese...while in Japan. Assholes. Also, Jonathan Davis was in the corner getting a blowjob from a scabby lookin' lady too. The Red Hot Chili Peppers were pretty cool though; Flea is/was insane. NOT TRUE QUARTERMAN, I had roast dog. The cat ran off when she saw the pot of boiling water with the catnip dangling over it. I actually had enchiladas and watched that new batman movie (arrrr) by myself while ingesting what the Native American's had to use to deal with the pompous jackass pilgrims back in the day (mescaline and pot)....was an interesting night. Don't remember much, woke up to a missing phone, dog crap on my rug, and a cat scratch on my scalp ( I think I passed out in her favorite seat so she tried to pull me off it). How was everyone else's? Any infamous family squabbles? Murders? Visitations from the Ghost of Thanksgiving's Past? (That's a thing right? It should be...).

I'm updating in this thread as I find information out about it. Still no fix, but it is not far off. Way too many people are affected by it for it to go on much longer (Tim says with hopeful trepidation)

Day 2 of no DOD:S No new update yet. TF2, DOD:S, and HL2:DM are all crashing and/or perpetually verifying game cache without ever actually doing anything. All these of these games were the ones affected by the latest update (in particular an issue with the sound emitter crashing). Have not figured out a way around it, nor can I find anyone who has. Rations are running thin. There are rumors that people have started resorted to playing CS:S but that is just a rumor so no need to be panic...yet. Oh, there is also rampant cannibalism in England but that's normal this time of year. Godspeed.

Anyone who has not shut down their DOD:S (basically leaving it open while alt-tabbed out) can still play, meaning it was an update problem. I have been told it was an attempt to fix the last update, but since they know they fucked shit up, they are on top of it, so only a matter of time before it's all groovy. Soon as I know a thing, I'll post it here, but I don't have some SUPER secret access to information, just a friend who works at Valve and can relay stuff back to me (even though he's not at all involved with DOD:S). It's sporad, but he said he'd let me know if anything important happens, and I'll pass it right on. Patience, it appears, will be practiced tonight. May the dark have mercy on our souls. ps: it very well might be fixed before I know about it, so don't wait on me; keep trying.
