So I did re install everything didn't have any of the issues I had before but I still can't connect to the Internet it says your Ethernet router is disconnected (when its not) I will look for the driver. I did take the computer apart so I possibly could of forgotten a piece.

ok i have managed to make it to the windows screen the only issue now is that i cant connect to the internet. the cord are all hooked up properly is there a step i am missing?

oh and btw the Windows cd i am using did come with the computer so i am not sure why.. i have made it to the main desktop area, but i tried clicking onto the internet but it said there was a file or something missing it was something like this i878.dll file missing i am not sure about the file name but the ex was .dll so basically once i hit the desktop i cant do anything

i do not have the service pack 2 cd i do have a valid license key i was in fact just curious if i could download the service pack from microsoft offline onto a external hard drive, but then once i got to the screen the hard drive couldnt be found (the hard drive)

alright so i recently fixed a computer and when i get to the windows set up it gets to the screen where it says, collecting information, dynamic update, installing windows, finalizing installation. but before it gets to finalzing it gets stuck at installing windows, then tells me to insert the 2nd disc which i do. then a window pops up saying "the file 'asms" on windows xp professional service pack 2 cd is needed Type the path where the file is located then click OK" Then i have no clue where to go from here because i dont know where the file is located.. help! thanks guys!
