If you haven't tried a new microphone, do so just to be sure. But bad wiring is likely the culprit. You might be able to get them refurbished as opposed to buying a replacement.

I entered your specs into this power supply calculator. I filled in the blanks as best I could, favouring more intensive components, and it came around 450W at 90% load. How accurate the calculator is I don't know. Do you experience a similar issue with any other games which are graphically intensive?

Have you tried another microphone? Faulty wiring can cause the microphone to stop working without affecting the headphones themselves.
