You just remove the "-autoconfig" entry. Did this change anything concerning the darkness in the game?

Make sure your video drivers are updated and set to the default settings (especially brightness/gamma).Remove any config that is in your autoexec.cfg or config.cfg.Make sure your monitor brightness is set to mid-level or the defaults.

Try adding "-autoconfig" to your DoD launch options following the instructions below: 1. First start Steam 2. Go to Library and rightclick on Day of Defeat Source 3. Press on properties and then open the SET LAUNCH OPTIONS.. 4. Type in -autoconfig 5. Click Okay 6. Start DoD:S

If you don't see the options where you are looking at, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam and then right click on Steam.exe. Follow the rest of the directions from that point.
