Unban Request :: S/Sgt. T. Svizz [8th ID]
Parker 1st MRB replied to Assmus 8th ID's topic in Military Police Archives - DoD:S
I just watched the video for the first time and have come to the conclusion that you, Svizz, are not hacking. You will be unbanned. HOWEVER, you should know the reason you were suspected immedtiately of hacking and banned by the First Sergeant is because (and there is no disrespect intended here) the 8th ID, true or untrue, has been accused of hacking a few times by other units who have come to us and told us the stories or showed us demos (and please don't reply asking for these demos, I delete shit right after I watch them). But, as you have just experienced, this is why we have an unban request section, so that issues like these can be worked out accordingly. As far as disrespect is concern, know that our word of the unit is RESPECT and every member follows it without question. Admin is not given to everyone in our unit, the more experienced players are the only ones who have admin and those tend to be my higher ranking members. I support the First Sergeant for banning you, he handled the situation as an SNCO should. The conversations that took place between you and the First Sergeant are because of the ban on Svizz who I just unbanned, so everyone should just move on. In the future, arguing with the person who banned you won't get you any closer to getting unbanned by him/her. Come directly here to plead your case so that the command staff can review it first, make the decision and get you unbanned. -
How do I find my steam ID? If you are having trouble retrieving your Steam ID, or just don't know how, follow these directions. These are posted directions on finding your Steam ID. Follow these directions as follows: Launch Day of Defeat: SourceConnect to any game server that is not created by you, or on a LAN (Local Area Network)Open your console (~) and type "status"Copy next to your name the information provided, for example," # 2 "Barneby Sax" STEAM_0:0:7654321 00:21 40 0 active 100.0.0.1:27005" We will need Barneby's number: STEAM_0:0:7654321. How can I donate? You can click on the link that says donate on the homepage of the website or you can follow this link: Donate! When you donate to our server, it donates to the Paypal account that is tied directly to the Gameservers account which purchased the servers. In this case, 1stLt. J. Samuels has ownership to the account, but the command staff has access to see the funds, and where they are distributed. Money donated to the servers travels directly into the servers themselves, so to speak. We are charged monthly for the servers to stay online, this includes the Public server, the Private server, the Ventrilo server, and the Website hosting. All of these are automatically charged to the PayPal account when the billing period is due. One Time Payments will only charge you once, but are limited to once per week. Recurring Payments will charge you depending on the time period you choose, for example, you could set a recurring payment for $10 every three months until you cancel the subscription. Click here for instructions on how to cancel a recurring payment. To read the announcement about the payment changes, click here. Refunds can be given up to 30 days after purchase, but must be requested personally. Questions? Email us at support@1stmarineraiders.com

What if I live outside North America? We have a growing amount of members who live outside North America. We have a European Drill Instructor that accommodates those people who live outside North America. Usually, we try our best to schedule practice and realism times that work for you. Although most of our unit consists of mostly people from North America we always welcome anyone who thinks they can become a Marine Raider!
-
Is there a time requirement? We do not have an official bare minimum for the hours you should have. Basically, you will need to make yourself available to your fire teams weekly practices if you sign up for one. The fire team practice is held once a week and usually last about 1 hour. It is really up to you though, we are not going to chase you around, if you are active it will help you get far in this Unit as well as increase your Realism Unit experience. We understand that people have work and/or school so we try to accommodate to your time needs as much as we can.
-
Do you guys take this really seriously? In general, yes, we take the unit very seriously. Seeing as we are based on a Military Unit, the higher ranked members will be fairly strict. We don't require everyone to be serious all the time, but when you are in the Realism Server with higher ranked members you should act accordingly. We understand that everyone plays this game and others to have fun, and that is fine. In the Public Server and in the many other games that our members play, we can relax and enjoy ourselves.

What are weapon restrictions and why do you have them? NOTE: At this time Recruits are subject to weapon restrictions. Weapon restrictions mean that a person’s rank corresponds to certain weapon classes they are allowed to play with on Day of Defeat. For example, as a Recruit you are only allowed to use the rifle class, but as you go up in rank you are able to use other weapons corresponding to your rank. As a Recruit you can also PTU (Permission to Use) any weapon you want as long as you have a positive score, meaning having more kills than deaths. Only Staff Sergeants and above have the ability to grant or deny a PTU. If you PTU and no response is giving, it means that it has been denied. Staff Sergeants and above have no weapon restrictions. We DO NOT have these restrictions to torture you, they are there so that you get better and more familiar with each weapon class. During a realism you have to be able to use any weapon to the best of your ability when needed and having weapon restrictions accomplish that. We know it can get hard and boring/tiring using the same weapon(s) all the time, which is why we have Permission to Use (PTU) rights. You can learn more about PTU rights in Basic Training. In addition, we allow our members (Pvt. and up) to apply for Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) training for all weapons, passing these classes allows you to use an otherwise restricted weapon without the need to request PTU.
-
How do you get promoted? It’s simple – promotions are given to those who deserve them. Promotions are recommended by the Sergeants and are decided upon and given by the Officers. The Officers look at many different aspects of the soldier, mainly Activity, Leadership, Personality, Contribution, and Respect. The Officers look at Staff Positions held, how much effort is put into filling the servers as well as if there are any negative marks on the soldier's record.
-
How does your rank system work? The ranks structure of the 1st MRB contains ranks from Recruit up to Lieutenant Colonel. Following the chain of command, a term that will become very familiar in our unit, we start at the bottom and move up the line: The Recruits are new members that have yet to pass our required Basic Combat Training. At the bottom of the food chain, these unit greenhorns are watched closely as they learn the ropes, they are not considered full-fledged 1st Marine Raiders until they meet the approval of their Drill Instructors. The Enlisted ranks (Private and Private First Class) make up the bulk of the unit and help keep our unit active. Still fairly new to the unit, the enlisted ranks are constantly learning and improving their skills which ends up opening limitless opportunities throughout the unit. The Enlisted Ranks report to the Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) and up. The Non-Commissioned Officers (Corporal to Staff Sergeant) are the backbone of the unit, their leadership skills help maintain order in the unit. The NCOs also hold the majority of the Staff Positions to aid the running of the unit. The NCOs report to the Senior Non-Commissioned Officers (SNCOs) and up. The Senior Non-Commissioned Officers (Technical Sergeant to Sergeant Major) solely maintain the training and discipline of the unit. These seasoned veterans are an endless source of knowledge and skill that is utilized by the entire unit. The SNCOs report to the Officers. The Junior Officers (Warrant Officer and Chief Warrant Officer) are new officers that have proved themselves as SNCOs and have earned higher rank. These officers are part of the command staff and require as much respect as the commissioned officers. Responsibilities include supporting the commissioned officers and maintaining the company staff offices. The Officers (Second Lieutenant to Lt. Col.) of the unit make up the unit's Command Structure, they maintain almost every aspect of the entire unit as well as the servers. The Commissioned Officers are in charge of communicating with other units, organizing the staff structure, and even maintain the unit's treasury. Having held ranks from Enlisted to SNCO, our Officers have earned their way to the top and know what they are doing. From morale to discipline, our Officers work to keep the unit alive and organized.

How is your unit set up? Our Unit is based closely on the actual 1st Marine Raider structure from World War II. The Battalion Commanding Officer, Major Sean Larson and the Battalion Executive Officer, Captain Joseph Samuels are in charge of the entire unit. The Command Staff is in charge of separate aspects of the Battalion: Unit Discipline, Public Affairs, Company Staff, etc. A Battalion is usually broken down into multiple Companies, our Battalion has one, Able Company, which contains our two Platoons.
-
How long does it take to join? Once you have registered on our forums and filled out your application, allow time for the Recruitment Officers to review your application and reply to it. However, if you have been accepted it doesn’t mean you are fully apart of the Unit, you have to graduate from Basic Training and become a Private in the 1st Marine Raider Battalion. Basic Training is held once every two weeks and lasts 2 days.
-
I'm really good. Why do I need to go through Basic Training? Being in the 1st MRB is not all about skill, we focus on teamwork and strategy and not on an individual’s skill, like the saying goes “there’s no I in team”. Basic Training also teaches you how to act as a 1st Marine Raider which is important if you want to be apart of this Unit. All new members have to start off as a Recruit and go through Basic Training, there are no exceptions. Going through Basic Training earns you respect from your fellow Marines!
-
What do you do at Basic Training? The training focuses on training you as a rifleman, getting you familiar with certain skills that are vital for realism matches, and more importantly how to act as a 1st Marine Raider. This means that you will learn skills with the rifle, learn how to clear buildings, grenade priming, how to work together as a team, how to act in a realism unit, etc...
-
Can I try Realism before I join? We hold Open Realism events frequently that are open to the public. We post an announcement regarding any events we have in our Discord. If you want to join our Discord follow this link: 1st MRB Discord
