It is quite wonderful that you assumed my use of the slippery slope was a referral to you, quite astonishing. For if you had pulled out a little ways, I was referring to the original post. (In which Lamey did indeed preform a slippery slope) More or less, I was justifying myself posting in this thread to begin with. But, it is interesting that you assume I was referring to your argument. Hubris is indeed the most deadly of the seven sins.

You're giving off a very small window to work with. I'm not seeing much a point to this if you're emphasizing the "true capitalist" society. No nation has ever had that extreme of a capitalist ideology. So, really anything said about it is pure speculation. I'm not disagreeing with you, I think it would be a bad idea as well. What I am saying, is that Capitalism (to be more specific capitalism in the U.S.) is the best system to date. Sure there are places where it's not fair, but life isn't fair. I won't preach about it being perfect, as it obviously is not. But I also do not abide by criticisms of the system that highlight these unfair scenarios and slippery slope (another logical fallacy for you) right to capitalism has failed. No one economic policy has been 100% pure to its roots, except possibly Communism or Fascism. But, both of those are the extremes. Now supposedly Fascism is a far-right policy, I won't go into why I disagree with that here, but suffice to say fascism is not a viable economic solution. All I saw presented by the original poster was Communism without money which seems off. To go back to Timothy 6:10 "For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows." Now I isn't some big-city Koran-burning pastor, but I feel as though the Bible teaches some good stuff.

"Fort Gay has been around since 1789, a full 6 years longer than Microsoft itself!" ...?

Now I'm not offended, but I have to wonder... Why did you use my name as the example name? Sure, I like Capitalism. But if L.A. offers me a job on their police force, I'm sure as hell not going no matter the pay. I like my quiet town, with its lack of real crime and organized gangs! Or did you pick me out for hating on Communism the most?

I admit I went a little overboard after I was reading on Russo and I found he's one of the 9/11 conspiracy types. That doesn't sit well with me in any situation. (I wouldn't dare debate the JFK assassination, it's far from what I consider a forte )

No one has claimed them as a reputable source. I expected someone arguing about this to know the Constitution. I used Wikipedia because it was easier then finding a .gov or .edu to post. But here, since you apparently cannot recognize the Constitution: Cornell Institute, National Archives You didn't even address how the 16th Amendment isn't law you just rode it off as I haven't watched his obscure video. Apparently the Constitution isn't the law of the land when it suits you? All of the 'facts' in his preview were overridden by the fact that the 16th Amendment exists. They show snips of interviews saying there is no legal precedent for income tax, the 16th Amendment isn't precedent? You watch that preview and tell me it's not looking to appeal to emotions over the facts and I know you're lying. The video shows injuries that look to be caused by police brutality, people being shoved around by the government. Police officers training on a shooting range. Images intended to put into your head that these people want to hurt you. You show me Ellen Brown, some person I don't know talking about something I don't know why I should listen to her. So I show you Scott Moore, a guy who is talking about Russo in the same way Brown talks about this issue. Out his/her ass. Meaning that Scott Moore has about as much appeal to me as Michael Moore. And I hate Michael Moore. Ellen Brown has shown me nothing other than another ignoring the 16th Amendment.

A little fun game, damn Yellow got me killed! Supposedly tests your team working abilities by giving you scenarios in recognition, recall, spatial thinking etc. Your teammates keep you alive! But we survived for 4:32, and that's above average! http://team.forsvarsmakten.se/english/

*Cough cough* "The Federal Reserve System is not "owned" by anyone and is not a private, profit-making institution. Instead, it is an independent entity within the government, having both public purposes and private aspects." (As just about every section of the government has!) "Under the Federal Banking Agency Audit Act (enacted in 1978 as Public Law 95-320), which authorizes the Comptroller General of the United States to audit the Federal Reserve System, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) has conducted numerous reviews of Federal Reserve activities." Harrumph. Linky! Wait a minute here. This is a very confusing statement/question. Because I'm lazy, Wikipedia! Ratified in 1913! Or, if you want to go back further Wiki Provides! The DeLorean takes us back to 1861! As Costa has aptly pointed out, I've linked my information, link yours. Please no more videos taking police training and take-downs out of context to evoke fear of an overly powerful government. Granted, my second latest linky was directly to the Fed's website. And in their Evil ways they have twisted all of this to make themselves seem like a partially public, partially private division of the government. Like every other division of the government. Stop thread-jacking, this was initially about abolishing the monetary system, and you're spouting conspiracies not linked to the initial argument.

Hey, wrong! Take a look at the Bretton Woods System which is basically stating that we had to be able to exchange those dollars for gold when prompted. However, this was taken out of office by the jolly old President Nixon, during an economic downturn and scare. This also leads in that The Federal Reserve does not print our money! Shenanigans! The money we use is printed by the U.S. Department of the Treasury, more specifically, The United States Mint and The United States Bureau of Engraving and Printing. After the "Nixon Shock" the Federal Reserve opted into the job of regulating the U.S. Dollar. The Fed down there does not produce the money, they distribute and regulate it. We are always aware of how many of those dollars are flowing, it's the government who decides it! What the Federal Reserve did was decide that "The Phillips Curve" (Basically, whenever unemployment is low, inflation tends to be high) is a truth we should all recognize. Meaning they decided because of this evidence that inflation is really a benign force. Because they misunderstood the destruction caused by inflation, the Dollar took a huge hit. Between the mid 60s and the early 80s, the Dollar lost roughly two-thirds its value! Fun stuff? Anyways, all of what you said doesn't make much sense. Especially because the Federal Reserve is a government regulated and owned establishment. As stipulated in the Banking Act of 1936, the President appoints the Chairman of the Federal Reserve, as well as the 6 other persons on the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. Currently the Big Fed man is Ben Bernanke, appointed by President Bush, and nominated for another go by President Obama. See the United States Code! And go look at some other economic law books! My favorite part of those dusty tomes? The part where they must report to Congress twice a year on their decisions! Accountabillabuddies! I've got blisters on me fingers!

It's funny you call me rude, when you are on the offensive. You are attacking my system of beliefs. I believe in Capitalism, and I believe in the United States of America as a Federal Republic. You're sitting back, taking an easy route and calling these systems bad, because some people have it worse off. No system to date has given everyone all of the necessities for life. At least, not before completely destabilizing and crumbling to pieces. I'm looking at you USSR. Capitalism is what has made these United States the most powerful and technologically advanced economy in the world. Even in this recession, we are still able to retain our number 1 effin' spot in the world. You know why? Because we allow for competition, we allow for everyone to achieve what they can and reap the rewards for it. We allow people like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs to become multi-billionaires. And now, they want to give away most of their fortunes. And that's OK, because that's their decision. Even that scumbag Michael Moore, who rants on and on about how bad Capitalism is. He can do that, appealing to the peoples' emotions by showing them how people can fail in our system. Now he's a multi-millionaire because of Capitalism. And he has no inkling of giving away his money. But that's OK, because he made the money fair and square. If everyone felt the same way I do about his movies, he would've failed, and fallen into a bankrupt state. And no one would have been there to pick him up and dust him off. Unless someone really wanted to, that's their choice. In your system, if he wants to make movies, you'd let him of course. Because that's what he wants to do. Now his movies are failing, no one wants to see them. (You don't even know how many people are going to see them since you can't buy tickets with no money. Oh! Right! Movie theater ticket rations!) What does your system do for him? From what I can see, give him a shoulder to cry on, and keep allowing him to make crappy movies. In your system you aren't getting rewarded for work. You're getting rewarded for being alive. I hate to break it to you, but the reason a lot of people go to graduate schools, medical schools, law schools, engineering schools (etc.) and get those big, scary, expensive degrees is so they can make the money or the rewards that outweigh the costs. Thus allowing them to buy a big fancy house, a fancy luxury car, and fancy hors d'oeuvres. Why should I go to engineering school, if the rewards I'm getting are the same blathering thing as the person who fixes my plumbing? Oh, but go on and on about how fair your system is. With all of your spelling errors all you have made is Communism without money. And you would fail harder than Communism. We were at least afraid of what they had bought with their money.

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/v...e-Nukem-Forever At the Penny Arcade Expo Gearbox has confirmed their pickup of Duke Nukem Forever, and their plans to release it in 2011. For those who do not know, this game is one of the most famous "vaporware" games, having been picked up and dropped off by multiple studios, the most prominent being 3D Realms. This game has been in the development cycle for a staggering 12 years, but now looks to be released. In the game's trailer, one of the nubile twins asks Duke if the game is any good. He replies the way pretty much all of us would: "After 12 fucking years, it should be." Gearbox is probably most famous for developing Borderlands, but they have developed other games, including Half-Life: Opposing Force.

And your system is different how? You don't have money granted, but some random Joe-Schmo is apparently making the same as an Engineer, which is a "house promise"or a "car promise." A promise of housing instead of a paycheck. I have no idea where these cars and houses will come from but they will be there! Oh, and to the whole tourism thing you referred to. "This is simple. When it comes to our economy and the Tourism industry we imply the monitary system to those who still use it." That's probably the most contradictory thing you've said. Let's all get rid of our money, so we can live in Utopia. But it's OK for you guys to come over here, and buy things from us with your money that we have no need of. Think of a person from a country such as North Korea. They have no viable exports we would seek to purchase from them, but now they can just buy all they want from us, because we won't refuse their money. You need to stop trolling the Politics section of the forums, you really don't seem to address anything I laid out. What about the people who can't work? In your system they would be a complete burden to society. But, wait.... You'll give them housing and "food rations" of course. So, they can be equal to people who are working for the betterment of the nation? That makes little to no sense. Oh and "If you don't work in this world you end up on the streets... same thing would happen in the idea." So you'll just throw a disabled person into the streets? I see you really do care about the people and not the money. You seem to employ the hippie rationalization of "Money is the Root of all evil." I pose you this: "For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows." Timothy 6:10. If you need help on that interpretation, money is not the root of all evil. The love of money is. Your system does nothing to stem greed, you will just put people into positions where they will control everything. But keep living in your fantasy world, just don't try to convince us you're sane.

First off, I find it hilarious that you are pitching this terrible idea, while you keep misspelling the word monetary. Great stuff. Secondly, this is a terrible idea. Money is a kind of standard that people make for a better life, so if it were not for money, people would lose the standard and feel confused. In the entire history of the world, people have always traded value for things they want. Give me an example of where such a place did exist, and shenanigans will be pulled throughout. The thing that gets me about this idea is it's basically a pull on a Marxist view, just attempting to seem different then communism. The flaw with Marx's theory is that he did not understand human nature. He envisioned the lower classes rising up and over throwing their rich and then settling down to live in this Utopian society in which there would be not religion, no government, and no private ownership of anything. In your "theory" no one really has a basic ownership of anything. Why should they have it? Why should we prosecute thieves? For that matter how? We prosecute a thief based on the monetary value of what he stole. So, Jimmy stole 17 Plasma-Screen Television sets, 13 computers, 57 automobiles, and a turnip. Timmy stole a "Foosball" table. How are we to prosecute them for the same crime? There's no monetary value to what they have stolen, so are they to be punished in the same way? Now to the biggest issue, the one where communism really fell apart. I can't see any personal benefit to working harder in this system. You have taken away every person's individuality and given them the same, stating "Homes are modern cookie cutters anyway so individuality is slowly slipping away." Now, I live in a house that we designed as a family, scoff all you want. The house I live in is completely unique, I challenge you to find one similar. More towards the point, where are all of these houses coming from? Another person? The government? The government can't hope to control a system like this, primarily because human beings are in positions of power. As Gerald Ford said, "A government large enough to give you everything is a government large enough to take it all away." So, you are now getting your "home" from another person. Where is his incentive to build you a house? He's already got his house, and his food. So, effectively you can end up in the same situation as today. On the same issue, this "theory" gives everyone everything they want. So, where is the incentive to work? I'm sitting at home, after a construction shift for everyone who wants these free houses, and my next door neighbor hasn't left the house all day. He worked for 20 years for his house, and now he sits at home living off of his "food ration." This happens all over the country, where does the food come from? I know the farmer's who live around my area do not want to work if they can't receive equal compensation for their foods. Anyways the end result is a completely stagnating economy. Or, lack of economy because nothing is worth anything. Like all ideas spawned of Marxist theories, your idea looks so lovely on paper. Give everything to everybody and let's all sing around the campfires. Your very theory's foundations are flawed. You fail to take into account human nature, and thus this idea would fail harder then Communism failed. You say in your sales pitch this is all so simple. You understand nothing of economics or the world if you think this system would be simple. Our system of government was installed in 4,618 words. Can you do that?

I have bought and completed this game as well, and as far as these games made in the (or at least made popular by) GTA style go, this one is my favorite. It's got a way better storyline and voice acting than any of the GTAs, and the graphics are stupendous. Like you said it is pretty ridiculously short, and $50-$60 is a pretty steep price for the length of the game. Apparently, there is some DLC expected early on, however in all fairness they should just gimme it without making me pay any more extra. As far as collectibles go, collecting old Playboy magazines is a nice touch, especially since it gives you the centerfold from each one. I actually haven't collected any of the other collectible, Wanted posters, mostly because I don't know where they are supposed to be. 8/10 due to length, but otherwise a very solid game.

In Canada, the terrorists sing and dance.
Kirkendall 1st MRB replied to Costa 1st MRB's topic in The Slope Chute
I can see him in his basement, crying while he's making a pipe-bomb. "They should've sent me to Canadian Hollywood, it should've been me!" For this TV show do they have a Canadian Hollywood they send people? Or do they just send them to Hollywood and they become idols who are originally from Canada? -
That's my confused look. 87% of police departments in the United States have 25 or less police officers. Heck, my own town has a police force a little over 100 and we don't even have a SWAT team, we borrow Des Moines's. So, I'm going to say very few use SWAT when serving a warrant.

There's a reason we don't allow political talk in the public server. One way or another, it always leads to insults. Therefore, we decided to create the Politics section of the forums so everyone has a place to expect to be insults. Entering into a political discussion and expecting to not be insulted is like driving through Iowa and expecting to not see a single corn field. You'll always see the damn corn fields. Anyways, I'm going to have to go into the field of patriotism, and I would state a really long explanation however Farr seems to have summed up everything I wanted to say already. So kudos to you Farr!

Apples to oranges. The fact that Christianity is spreading to those countries is secondary to the American troops there. Are the troops announcing themselves "Fighters of Christianity" and committing suicide by crashing into a national landmark which houses fundamentals of their economy not to mention thousands of people? I think I'd be shadowing hundreds of people when I say, "move the mosque 5 blocks down the street." If NY is this angry about the mosque, forcing them into building the mosque will grow animosity towards the Muslim society even more than already exists. There are already mosques dotting NY everywhere, it's not a problem for the mosque to be built. It's a sensitive area to put the mosque. Anyways, Try to open a church of any religion other than Islam in Saudi Arabia or Iran. Go ahead, I dare you. You'll be dead within a day of announcing it. PS: Assimilation is nothing new. When anyone comes to our country, we expect them to accept our norms and mores. Above all we expect them to accept our laws, and these offenses are borderline lawbreaking. The fact that Target keeps them on is out of fear of a lawsuit that will draw them as insensitive to Muslim ideas. Assimilation gets a bad rap, it paints a picture of everyone following the same thing. Granted taken to an extreme it can be that. But it should be a basic understanding of our culture. We expect them to function in our culture, and if they cannot abide by our rules then they cannot function.

When I saw the preview for this movie, all I could tell was that it was going to be a movie with lots of explosions. Personally, I was happy enough with the movie after the custom shells in Terry Crew's AA-12 were shot for a little while. When has Stallone directed any movie that has had a good plot? Not really ever. It's like going to a movie, and expecting it to be good because Oliver Stone directed it. He's never directed any good movie. I went to this movie the same reason I assume people go to the SAW movies in theaters. There were some cool shiny things that happened on the screen. Or really violent things. I was in no way expecting Stallone, the writer and director, to come out with some deep psychological action flick that resonates with everyone. In my opinion, there was ages too much dialogue. Rourke's scene with him drawing on the guitar and blabbering on about saving the girl to save his soul was probably the most painful monologue I've heard. Did I get what I expected? Yea. Was Jason Statham the only really good action guy left there? Yea. Did it fit to have Dolph Lundgren be basically retarded? Yea. Was I happy with the plot? No. But it did set them up to fight a private army hosted by a pseudo-communist regime. And that's all I can ask for. PS Jet Li wasn't bad, but the only scenes they had him doing badass kung-fu shit was against Dolph. Shits weak. PPS On Oliver Stone, I'll grant him Platoon was good.

Since the application requests him to acknowledge his understanding first, he should have known to do so before changing his name. Unless he just jumped the gun, skimmed over or saw the format of other recruits and copied it. Anyways, I'm not going to try and convict you of impersonating a member since out of all the people you could impersonate, a recruit would probably be the worst. For a person with a pending application to change his name is not the newest thing in the world. However, regarding your forum account: As in, your forum status was never changed as you never stated your understanding of the rules provided. Contrary to popular belief, I can ban people without hearing their side of the story. Any officer can as we do it everyday on the ban requests in this very section of the forums. But, there's not really a reason to ban you here. "Websites are made to be broken" may be a bit of a misspoken and misinterpreted statement, and overreactions occurred. I'm going to go ahead and lift the ban, however you should note: Our rules are not made to be broken, they're made to be followed. If you are intent on breaking rules while here, your stay will be very short indeed. If there's a lesson to be made here, Don't say easily misinterpreted statements and expect no fallout. Oh, and to tell the truth I don't really care to look through your clan experience as I find first impressions to be so much more fulfilling. Ban lifted. Application Pending. Don't let it happen again. -
