  1. I use 3. I tried to change it to 2, but it keeps changing back to 3 when I log out.
  2. Which game? So many to choose from. Not going to buy one unless its a multiplayer game and others are playing as well. Better chance of survival.
  3. Hope you have a very Happy Birthday Duckers.
  4. Happy Birthday Gumby.
  5. He is best remembered for the scary roles he has played. The evil characters. he also did Comedy. He even made a couple heavy metal Albums, including Charlemagne: The Omens of Death. he also wrote some books. A truly talented man. I think it was his voice though that made him truly iconic.
  6. He was a great entertainer. A very talented actor. Rest In peace Sir!
  7. ok. I am on vent if you want to talk after you test both cards in both slots.
  8. Check this out and some of the others. you will laugh your ass off.
  9. need some information. What type of laptop is it? make and Model. How far was it dropped and did it just crack the glass, or did it really break it where pieces came out of the glass? Did it land on the bottom or the top? When I say top, I am referring to the back side of the part with the screen. Do you still get any picture at all or is it just black? We need to assess the damage to the screen. It is possible that it would just be cheaper to replace the laptop if they want $500 to repair it. How old is the laptop?
  10. no black screen and reset though. it would indicate to me that that card is going bad. That card may be what is causing your problems. What I need to know is if it is happening with only one card, or both? Which slot was the card in? Does it happen only when it is the top slot, or does it happen also when it is in the bottom slot? We need to try and narrow it down to either one specific card or one specific slot. Put one card in the top slot, then try it. if it fails, put it in the bottom slot and see if it fails there too. then do the same with the other card. Don't just log in and out though. Actually play the game some to test it. let me know the results.
  11. The Graphics card is overclocked a bit. it kicks in in high performance mode, which I believe Rust is. being overclocked past the recommended amount is what is causing it to reset. Try adjusting the High performance GPU clock down to either 750 or 800. it should not be more than 850 Max, but go below for safety. If that does not work, then I would disable one to make sure.
  12. Wishing you a very Happy Birthday Sir!. Age doesn't matter. What you may be lacking in age, you more than compensate for with leadership. Enjoy the day Sir.
  13. Do you know if this system was overclocked? I see it is possible with this Motherboard.
  14. it does. let me do some research and I will get back to you.
  15. Click start, All programs, Accessories, System tools, System information. Hopefully it is listed there. It would be easier if your ex kept the paperwork on what he bought and put into the system. being almost 6 years old, I don't think its the wrong memory. it probably would have shown up before now. Its possible some parts of the ram is going bad, but it will tell you how much you have and whats available in System info also. The most probable culprit, if it is hardware, is the PS is breaking down or being overloaded. The Dual graphics cards you use, they require a 600 watt Power Supply for the Crossfire configuration. you have a 650 watt. if other drives were added, like you have 2 or more Hard Drives and 2 CD Roms drives, it may be overloading it so it restarts when the graphics get to intense. How many hard Drives and CD Rom Drives do you have. Is the sound built into the Motherboard or was it a separate card too? Wish you were close by. I could just drive over and check myself. Not sure how graphic intense Rust is. I don't play the game. Do you play other games and are they graphic intense? Like maybe Skyrim? if you want to catch me on vent we can talk and I can walk you through where to go on your computer to get the additional info I may need and what to check.
  16. Like I said before, NOTHING wrong with Norway. Beautiful scenery, nice people. Clean country. Would like to visit sometime, but I don't get around like I used to.
  17. If it was graphic cards overheating, you would just lose graphics, not have the computer restart. if the Processor was overheating, it would shut down or burn out, depending on if it had the overheating protection or not. AMD vs. Intel. Any info you can supply on the system will help in determining if it is a hardware problem and help to narrow it down. make and model of Motherboard, Graphic cards, HD's, Drives, memory and any other cards added. if it is a Store bought system just give me the make and model number of that and anything you added after you bought it. if it is a custom built, will need the info on what was in it when it was ordered and anything you changed afterwards.
  18. I drive a Hyundai Tuscon. Black. Love it. its a sweet ride.
  19. Indeed you did Sir!
  20. Happy Birthday Bunt. Hope its the best ever for you.
  21. My favorites are: Band of Brothers We Were Soldiers The Longest Day McClintock and just about any other movie with John Wayne in it.
  22. Happy Birthday Small. Hope its a good one.
  23. LOL. I think the Lt just reclaimed his title.
  24. Only 2 things I remember causing a computer to restart like that. Either a power drain, not enough power, or the wrong type of memory. My son had memory in his computer when he bought it that was listed as Double Density, Double Sided, but all the chips were on one side. it was NOT double sided. It caused his computer to restart a lot, especially when more ram was needed to run Ram intense operations. it turned out it was ram for a server, not a regular PC. we replaced the ram and everything worked fine. If your system is drawing more power for Rust, then it could be a bigger PS is needed. I don't think that a 650 watt power supply would have a problem handling this set up, unless you added HD's and drives to it after purchase, or added the Crossfire after also. Will have to do a little more research.
