go to the list of games where Skyrim is located. Right click Skyrim, go to Properties. Go to third tab, local files, click browse local files. That will bring up files and look for Skyrim launcher. Click it. it should launcher showing options of Play, Options, Data Files, tech Support, or Exit. Click options to change graphic settings. If launcher still crashes you will need to verify integrity of game.
Also need to know your Operating system, 32 or 64 bit, Type of graphics card, since Skyrim is a very graphics intense game, and how much RAM you have and how much free space you have on your HD.
To turn down the graphics on your computer, you will need to go to the software associated with it and set it to performance instead of quality if it is an ATI card. Click anywhere on your screen to bring it up and click settings from menu to adjust the graphics setting.
