  6. Were they trying to intimidate him with jiggling pectorals?
  7. No. 3: Especially in front of children.
  8. Do you have pointer trails enabled under windows mouse settings? If so, try turning them off. Are your mouse drivers up to date? What type of mouse do you have? To check mouse settings, click start and go to Control Panel, and click Mouse. Under Pointers tab, make sure Mouse shadow is off and check to enable "Allow themes to change mouse pointer" Under the Pointer Options tab, disable Snap To and Display Pointer tails under visibility. let us know if this fixes it.
  9. Thats a Hindu mantra sign , its also used now as a symbol of trance music . You learn something new every day. Just to chime in, it reads as "Ohm"
  10. 1080p 60fps video and great shooting! Feels so good to watch.
  11. I would double check to be sure. That error is thrown when the file is not found or it is corrupt. If someone could do this on their working map, that would be neat. If not, I'll do it with mine when I get home. Just for reference, here is what a download of the map looks like on my work computer: dod_strand.bsp - Length: 55441249 MD5: 3bd88d944ab52320a43877067d34f1a6 SHA1: 83a9596978b1a6b35dc6c907e727eec3702413ad via: Hash Calc
  12. Are you placing the dod_strand.bsp file that is inside of the dod_strand.bsp.bz2 archive into the the maps folder?
  13. Is there anything in the console after this happens? If so could you post it in some tags?
  14. That guy is a good rage actor. His video where he flips the Settlers of Catan board is awesome. Same with the table at a Magic tournament.
  15. It can technically use the full 4GB, but it will suffer in performance by a small percentage. It is definitely still the best price per power currently.
  16. I'm jealous. I love building PCs. I need to upgrade mine sometime soon. :/ Great build. Only a few things I would want you to be aware of: The 970 is a great card for your dollar, and I totally recommend it, but be aware of the fact that the last 0.5GB (of the 4GB) shares the same L2 cache as another 0.5GB chunk because the 970 has one less L2 Cache than the 980. This means that there is a slight performance bottleneck when really pushing the memory limitations of the card (~5%). Still an amazing card though, and they are working on a new driver to alleviate those issues to some extent. Just thought I would make sure you were up to date on the drama. source The 212 EVO is an awesome cooler, and I see that you got the 'K' version of the 4690, so I am going to assume that you will be overclocking the CPU. In this case, the 212 EVO is perfect and you'll love it. If you aren't OC'ing though, you should get the non 'K' version of the 4690 (save a few bucks) and if you live in an air conditioned home just use the stock fan that comes with the CPU. I've used the stock fan on 5 Intel processor builds with no over-clocking, and it hasn't been too loud or hot. Also, if you use the stock fan for the CPU, they come pre-smeared with thermal paste (I was so happy the first time I saw this!). If it can get into the 80's(F) in your house, I would actually still consider the 212 EVO, just so that I could keep the CPU fan quiet. Lastly, I hope you have a nice quality keyboard to go with this rig. It would be a shame to essentially put discount tires on a Mercedes! (Says the guy with a 10 year old, worn out, hand me down Saitek Eclipse II ) Oh, btw, you should check out this case. It is affordable, sleek, not too flashy, and was a joy to build in. The only weird part is getting the front plates off. You'll feel like you are doing something wrong. PC Part Picker link too
  17. I would argue that a very large portion of avoiding "This is the religion we will have" is to separate the church and state. Conflicts of interest are almost impossible to keep in check once you lose accountability.
  18. Since I will be pretty busy this week, this post will have a few self troubleshooting steps in it. I will be checking in to see how it is doing, but things have really picked up at work for me. Anyways, here goes: If you installed new graphics drivers sometime between when it was stable and when it was not, try uninstalling the new ones, then installing an older version of the drivers that are compatible with your video card. If you need some more in-depth instructions for this, I can go into more detail. Just let me know. If you go this route and it does not help, here is a link to your current installed drivers if you want to undo your changes 340.52 - Release Date: 2014.7.29 If #1 does not apply to you, the next thing that we should try is verifying the game cache. You can do this by first right clicking on Day of Defeat: Source and selecting properties. Then go to the LOCAL FILES tab. Then click on VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE (Steam uses capital letters in weird places) and wait for this box to finish. If this does not solve the problem, we might try the uninstall/reinstall route, but if we go there, I want to make sure that your customizations are safe (skins, UI, etc.) Other than that, I am running out of cheap ideas. If you have a spare graphics card in the house that you know works without crashing in another system, we could try testing with that. However, I would think that if it was a hardware issue, it would be happening in all of your games. Keep me updated. I'll also be doing some more research in the mean-time. Any other techs: Feel free to step in with some ideas if you have any.
  19. Exactly. Especially when considering the fact that it is the same at idle as it is at load. I wouldn't expect it to be maxed at 75C, most cards go to about 85C before they start doing everything that they can to stay cool. Also, throwing this in for reference. My temps during DOD:S My max temp during Shadow of Mordor
  20. Maximum operating temperature for the GTX 260 is 105C, but you don't really want to get it over 85C. It only got up to 75C. All of the other temps look fine too, except for TMPIN2. Just to make sure that this is just a bug in how it is interpreting that sensor, could you post another screenshot of HWMonitor when your system is at idle and hasn't been playing games recently?
