Unresolved - Other PC looses Internet when i start DOD:S
Woz 1st MRB replied to Wirths's question in Closed Tickets
If you have a suspicion that it is the modem or ISP, you could watch the uplink, downlink, and data lights on the modem to see if any of their absences coincide with the short disconnect. Since it is affecting multiple computers, this definitely going to be a process of eliminating what part of the network is causing the issue by testing it without it, then replacing or removing the faulty device. Try to get a hold of a switch from work and test it out. If it still occurs with a different switch then either both switches are bad (unlikely) or there is something else about the network that is causing issues. -

Do you have any other known good network switches that you could try in place of the current one to test if it is the network switch? That would be my first guess. Also, when you say PowerLan, are you talking about those networking adapters that connect to your existing electrical home wiring to let you use power outlets for internet? -
It seems like mouse tracking is on and the video is not a full screen capture. I felt like I was drunk. Anyways, loved how far you were pushing up past the objective on jagd. That is crucial on that map.

Unresolved-Minecraft Issues
Woz 1st MRB replied to Gearhart 1st MRB's question in Hardware Guides & Maintenance Questions
Popping in here a bit late. Could you post a stack trace of the error? It might be in the %appdata%\.minecraft\crash-reports folder or it might be in the server logs. With that I could narrow down the possibilities significantly. Strike that, it doesn't seem like this error has a stack trace in most logs and it doesn't generate a crash report. If you guys are playing with mods, it could be a bug in the mods that you are using. If the server has plugins running, it could also be causing some network congestion via a bug. This is all assuming that Ventrilo ping is spiking before this happens, and then returns to normal once you are disconnected from the Minecraft server via the error. It might be worth looking at the networking tab of Task Manager to see how heavy your network utilization gets during this error. Also, when you same name change, are you talking about your Mojang account having a name change, or is this a name changing plugin/mod that the server is running? -
Resolved - High Ping
Woz 1st MRB replied to Gearhart 1st MRB's question in Hardware Guides & Maintenance Questions
I have not received a response from any of the L3 providers that I contacted regarding potential issues. The only thing that can be done in this case is to notify your ISP and hope for the best. There have been some times that I have gotten lucky and found a phone number in those dns look ups and had a technician pick up on the other side. When that happens it usually gets resolved in a few minutes to a few hours through some troubleshooting on their end. They most likely will never know about this issue unless you report it. -

Unresolved - And the winner for Highest Ping is... Newman
Woz 1st MRB replied to Newman 1st MRB's question in Closed Tickets
This was my first instinct. If the problem on a trace route is not on your home network, it is probably just outside of it since it is affecting all connections. And if it is just outside of your network, then that points to ISP ran into a problem like this myself. Turned out to be the ground connection on the outside line. Water got onto it and eventually corroded it. Make sure they check that. -
