intel or amd? also nvidia or ati?

1st off, if you are buying Amd, you should by a PhenomII, and second the only thing Intel has on Amd now is their hyperthreading (which most programs dont support today) and their 6-core processors. Best band for your buck is an Amd. For more power at an equivalent speed to a similarly slocked Amd is about a $100 price difference. It's up to you.

if janke is correct the problem may have been caused by an update of vista, so i'd reccommend an ethernet cable

alright, use your task manager and look under performance and see if your cpu usage or ram usage is abnormally high at idle

could be your motherboard recieving or sending signals goofy

i wouldn't buy computers from any website that sends it to you complete already. You are just asking for problems, shipping alone could damage almost all the parts when they're put together.

but why 8 gigs? ur computer uses triple channel and you want to fill each set so 6 or 12 gigs would make more snese to me

i would buy ram like the brand you already have and you could take a look at what you got with this program.
