Have you restarted Steam at any point in time? I know when I installed Red Nation I had to restart steam and it worked, try that and see if it works

Fuck it, just get a new rig. It's obviously the superior advice here. the only real reason for a new rig is the fact that it's a Dell.

So he can buy a new motherboard and processor combo from newegg. he still doesn't need a new rig.

You know is it a 775 he can get a quad core for his motherboard. These 22 processors fit that socket type. He doesnt necessarily need an entire new rig just new compatible parts. Every time some one has a problem I swear to god i see "buy a new rig" as the advice. Calm down and look at others options.

Getting a new case won't get you any better performance. Smithers, you should buy a new cpu with the same socket type but dual core or better. It will do you some good. Then possibly get a video upgrade within your power supply range.

Janke, i think you should only buy 6 gigs of ram and invest in an ssd. I don't think buying more ram is a real way of future proofing anyways, as you know speed is everything in performance machines and your ram will eventually become slower compared to new products coming out. Still your decision though,

Call of duty is a dead game. There's too many of the same exact thing.

The age of a new video game is waiting to come around. The only popular things are classic reboots and expansions.. Halo reach. Call of duty. Fallout. Battlefeild(medal of honor). All of the sports games are gettin old the only change in them are stats and players.

It will still sell a ton of copies because of millions of CoD fan boys who get an erection at the thought of a new CoD game.

I see what you mean though and that actually sounds a lot better when you put it that way. I was also thinking of breaking away from Intel/NVIDIA and going to AMD/ATI to see what its got to offer. One of my friends is running a Hexacore processor overclocked at 3.2Ghz I think he said? That's only with using the GUI friendly overclocking system he has on his computer and not manually tweaking it.

You should know everything he said considering you are the deputy chief. Also those processors were way over hyped and aren't really that efficient. He wasted his money. The only way to get decent performance out of those (even though it's a 6-core cpu) is to overclock even further. He should've bought an i7 if they wanted to spend that kind of money.
