My Mic =[

The Problem:

So i was sitting at my desk tonight. I was talking in vent. Then i got bored muted it awhile and listened to music. While i was doing this i downloaded LoL to play with wells and then i went back and vent and tried to talk and couldn't. I have a headset and the sound works but not the mic. The download wasn't done and i don't know if that had anything to do with it.

Things I Have Tried:

-replugging it in

-restarting my computer

-i checked all settings in sound on my computer nothing changed

-checked Skype settings cause that likes to fuck shit up sometimes

-no my vent mic is not muted (the box is not checked)

-i prayed a little bit

I do have a warranty so i can probably just switch it but if it still doesn't work then its a computer problem not hardware, please post any suggestions if you have any

It doesn't work in vent or it doesn't work at all with any programs?

Are you running ventrilo as administrator?

Yes the input volume is normal just like before and i have no idea how to check my drivers!

When you muted it, did you mute it physically on the mic or in software?

i didnt mute it at all. it just stopped.

-and kirkendall helped me with the running as administrator thing and that changed nothing

Have you tried it in another computer to see if it works on that one? If it does it's a software problem, if it doesn't you need a new headset.

I had this exact problem ( i think its the same as urs )

My mic worked on a another comp tho.

My solution: i needed to go through ur skype, vent, and Audio devices properties

make sure they are all the SAME ( i even made a .txt for this purpose to show me which one is correct in case

it gets messed up again. ) you need through them all and set the same input/output devices for them all and set them.

As you can see they are all "Realtek HD Audio (input/output) ".

If this doesnt help - oh well i tried
