The worst part is the guys son is the one in the stands, really sad.

If you watch the film you can see that he could have grabbed the wall if he let go of the ball. I would have let go of the ball. Or maybe tuck and roll would have worked, he must not have known that maneuver.

P.S. I make fun but it is a shitty situation and I do feel bad for his family.

Not from the initial fall, he died on the way to the hospital. My guess is that he had a really bad hemorrhage in his brain and it took some time for him to pass. They said that when he fell and was dying the first thing he asked was if his son was okay. I feel so bad for the poor kid.
