Do you have a bunch of add-ons and skins?

If so please list them and I'll see what I can do based upon things installed in our pub vs. the private.

Also, do you get a specific error message? Is it a HL2.exe crash?

Have you tried doing this? (I found this from STEAM forums not sure if that will help)

Delete the ClientRegistery.blob file in you root Steam folder (something like: C:/Program Files/Steam/ClientRegistery.blob <- Delete that file)

Maybe firewall or antivirus blocking connection?

Holy shit you have a lot of hacks. I mean mods. I wonder if one of them got broken with one of the numerous updates.

Try adjusting your rates. Set rate to 5000 less than what it is set to now. So from 40000 to 35000 or from 30000 to 25000... That has been the only fix mentioned for the buffer overflow problem.

I figured out which skin was messing my game up but now I still have a buffer overflow problem when to many explosions go off in my face

I had the exact same issue when I was in jail for 3 weeks. By god I earned the nickname "Chinese Handcuff"

      MARINE CORPS ENLISTMENT OFFICE Camp Pendleton, CA   RECRUITMENT LETTER     Hello Paul Smith, Thank you for taking interest in joining the 1st Marine Raider Battalion.   During your trial period the following will occur: Once accepted as a Recruit, you will remain as a Recruit for 2 weeks from the day of your acceptance until the next BCT Class is offered. During your time as a recruit, it is highly encouraged to play within the Public Server and join Discord with our other members. Upon acceptance, you will be contacted by one of our DIs when the next available BCT is scheduled via the appropriate Discord channel.   We have a BCT class every two weeks. Please keep an eye out for when the next one is made available once you've completed your time requirements!   Upon stating that you understand all the information here, an admin will change your forum name and login to be :   P.
