Borderlands dlc activation problems

Well i bought the zombie island of Dr. Ned and when i try to go to the starting point i have to activate it and i put in my key and everything and it doesn't work and i have also even tried manual activation but even that didn't work has anyone found a solution to this? I have looked on the internet but so far i haven't gotten much help with it.

Enter the game, use the fast travel network to get to Jacobs Cove, then it will load for a few seconds, then alt+tab to view the activation screen, enter your cd key (found by right clicking your steam icon, go to the library, right click borderlands, go to cd key), then click next and wait for it to load.
