As much as I hate Apple products, I cannot deny that Steve Jobs was a pioneer and a visionary that allowed more and more people access to technology, and thus breaking what was the norm in how people disseminate new ideas, news, and opinions. This led to many interesting and unique socio-political movements in both here and around the world.

Although I don't think God would allow him to keep the sweater.

People act like we lost some amazing person - there have been far more important people who've died.

All the trendy kids act like the Iphones/smartphones wouldn't be around if not for Jobs - how stupid is that?

Apple products truly were not any better than anything else - hell half the time they are underdeveloped at release and require constant updating to make them 'as good' as the competitors out on the market. Apples real genius lies in their marketing. Honestly THAT is what has gotten them where they're at - their marketing.

I find it sad not that the man died (although cancer is a nasty nasty NASTY thing and I feel for his family and their loss, my condolences) but I feel the true sadness lies in how much people idolize him for creating such mediocre things.

Which is why I don't buy Apple products. Give me a Microsoft product that has endless security and program updates but whose customer service isn't shit, I can do anything I want on it, and I can honestly take apart and the worse thing that happens is I break the system to the point that I -gasp- just use the reinstall discs.

I do know he was visionary and brought all these products to the market, but I really hate the damn apple marketing as well.

Apple-

The only thing Apple I own is the old old massive iPod. Other than that, I never Trust a Fruit. I feel bad for how many young kids and teens thought he was amazing for what he invented. My brother showed me what a friend posted on their FaceBook, it basicly said "Steve, without you, my life would be nothing. The iPod changed my life because it could hold all the music that describes me. Now nothing will ever be invented and the electronic world will go down hill"

I deleted him off his FaceBook.

It's his business model and marketing that is genius. You may think his products are mediocre at best, but the fact that the apple-tards are obsessing is evidence enough that he left some sort of mark on society. I'm not an Apple fan, but I can recognize Jobs' initiative and I commend him for that.

In other news, now what is PARC supposed to do with their genius ideas? (FYI, that is where Steve Jobs got all his innovations)

Just b/c he made things that people drooled over doesnt make him some super wiz. There have been lots of other things people have gone crazy over that were overrated and pretty simple. Apple is just another example of how big name brands control everything.

I deal with people coming into work and asking what games they can get for their mac.... i just chuckle and say these 4 have fun. its sad for people to go crazy over how something looks more so then how it functions but that's how people are these days but as stated before performance over form... i mean look at the vehicles people drive.. a soccer mom doesn't need a V10 excursion to go 500 feet down the road to get their kids off the bus
