Well for one thing, in Skyrim you can create your own character, you can play the game the way you want it to fold out there are no rules in the game. You can be a character based on strength and magic attacks. Or range and light weaponry. There are over 400 quests to do in the game. They added random generating dragons to the game. That will spawn anywhere in the game even if you are no there. So you may go to a town. Buy something then leave, come back in maybe 4 hours (or 4 game days) and the town will be on fire and the towns folks will be talking about a dragon attack. The game is beautiful looking and the fighting looks like it flows real well. But i recommend looking up videos on it describing it better than I can. Also the game is so large you will be playing it for a long time because you can beat it 100s of different ways.

In all honesty i bought it for the xbox and pc

Its a cross between an FPS and an RPG. Definately a fantasy world, but with 1st person action. It needs a certain amount of grinding, but there are low level questes that get you to the higher levels. Actually, go to Gamefaqs.com and check ou The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion about how it works. Also, there were quite a few reviews of the game out there. Skyrim looks to be sort of a cross between Oblivion and Morrowind (which was a better game, IMO). Here are things you can do in Oblivion:

Pick your diety - it modifies your stats slightly

Pick your race - it modifies your stats greatly

Pick your emphasis/job - allows you to use your stats to the greatest effect

Pick you alignment - if you start to murder people, you can join the Dark Brotherhood, a group of assassins.

If you choose to join the Fighter's Guild, you have special quests, same goes for Magician and Theives Guilds.

Plus there are side quests by characters outside of guilds.

To me, the attraction to playing The Elder Scrolls games is that its like playing a book, instead of just reading it.

That's the other thread about the game. I posted some videos in there, and instead of re-posting them here you can take your lazy ass over there and watch them. Or wait, I'm the lazy ass.... nevermind... Just go watch the videos.

I played through Oblivion three different times, and had a blast all three times because as others have said, there are no rules. You create the story as you play the game and your actions dictate what happens in game.

Think of it as a Choose Your Own Adventure book, only you get to play it and not read it.

My brother is gonna buy it and i had oblivion before its a really fun game so i think you should buy it. Well think of it double wield sword thats awesome and dragons that fly that u can only shoot down and the big part, the graphics, one of the most realistic enviromental games around

if u have played Rage, Crysis forget it skyrim has one of the best graphics around and u got plenty of races to choose from, they all exist in the previous elder scrolls and u can be a thief wizard knight assasin you name it so i highly recommend u buy it if u want it.

In all honestly, this game makes me want to jizz. I CANNOT wait for it. I pre-ordered the collector's edition as soon as it became available. I only got it for the xbox as my pc probz couldn't handle it. I have oblivion for both xbox and PC. I got all the achievements on the xbox one, but goofed off on the PC one... to be honest. BEST GAME I'VE EVER PLAYED. Elder scrolls is probably one of the best series I've ever played aswell... even though I started from Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. But, still. It's gonna be NASTY.

ugggh jizzed in my pants. I have been playing the elder scrolls games since Morrowind and i have always loved them, I played through morrowind like 8 or 9 different times and the way the story unfolds aand how it effects the way your character is treated by the npc's never repeated and then i played oblivion for like a couple of months straight and managed to only get lost in the world they had developed. I personally have been into the elder scrolls lore and the overall stories they tell and how the different provinces relate to eachother blah blah blah, all in all i'm tryin to say that i wanted to see skyrim from the get go, and of course DRAGONS!!!! who can't be stoked for fighting fuckin dragons, dragons have been like a staple of the culture in the Empire in these games and now we get to learn a bit more about WHY lol

And I can't play it. Stupid game won't let me rebind keys to the numpad. Claims they are "reserved." Not okay. I'll have to wait for an update. As a left handed mouser, numpad is the only thing I can comfortably use.

Those bastards. I haven't been able to play it yet, but if I can't rebind I will be quite sore with this game.
