tidal wave of pc terror

Ok im gona just dive right into this mess... currently all games on steam that run the havoc engine wont load they give me the bs message "this game is currently unavailable" and if i uninstall them i cant reinstall them because all steam servers are busy. This is generic for all download locations. My default location is Washington DC but i tried atlanta, philly, NY, and every other location on the east coast all register as busy at all times of the day. Before i tried a reinstall i tried everything on this site https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article...=4595-WEXN-6831

but now i cant install them. The games in question are Half life 2 and both ep1 and ep2, CSS, DODS, and any other game that uses the source engine. All other games can install and work fine. I cant verify the cashe files as its just idles at 0% and dose nothing nor can i now as i uninstalled all source games and cant reinstall them anymore, the only things i havent tried that i can think of is wiping steam and reinstalling it completely which i may end up doing tonight, and reformatting my PC which i cant do unless i can procure a new copy of windows 7 since im sick of torrenting my OS's since i have to reformat 4 times a year. Im sure iv left out something in this so ill come back and edit this post (Assuming i can figure out how to) and add it what i forgot as it comes back to me.

Step 1:

Follow the instructions in the link.

If that doesn't work

Step 2:

1.) Exit Steam

2.) Browse to your Steam folder on your computer (usually C:\Program Files\Steam)

3.) Now delete the following files: ClientRegistry.blob, SteamUI.dll and steamclient.dll

4.) Restart Steam and it will do an update and hopefully fix your problem

It's funny how "delete the .blob file" fix is always raised in steam issues. Makes copy/paste tech support a dream come true.

doing that let me download 1 source game but it still dose it to the rest and still dose the "this game is unavailable" on DoDs unfortunantly only reason that one didnt get done b4 was i couldnt find all the files for some reason

whats funny is as soon as i posted this i saw yama's post and the .blob file and loled that is the one i couldnt find

I tried going through the lists of fixes on the steam support sites again today including the .blob fixes and im still getting the "this game is currently unavailable please try again later" error and im out of ideas completely

just anouther note i cant defrag of verify the files on DODS it idles at 0% when i try and never gets past that point

Glad the reinstallation of Steam fixed it for you. Sometimes, the best approach is nuclear.
