Okay guys, So looking through the forums i found nothing about Working out or Martial Arts, I myself am a active martial artist, and wanted to know if anyone else does martial arts or any type of fighting, and what workouts they do and etc.

Wow... That's Actually What im doing now...... I used to do Wing Chun Kung Fu untill the school closed, but i still continue to train with some of the guys from there, and one of the 2nd Degrees did JKD for a long time, so he's teaching me that atm as well.

I used to train alot when I was in high school. I had the advantage of working at a Martial Art Supply Store so I got to meet and, at times train with alot of different instructors. The ones I actually dedicated the most time too were Aiki Juijitsu, Iaido and, a variation of Kenjutsu from two different instructors. A general acceptance is many of the Japanese unarmed styles techniques were derived from sword techniques. So learning one lended alot of base movements to the other so, I decided to work on both. My Aiki Juijitsu instructor also did Jo (staff) work with us as well but, it wasn't the main focus. I don't train with an instructor anymore since between when I'm working and, the kids I just can't find the time but, I still can sneak off alittle bit and go practice with the sword and, staff work since its still practical without a partner.

Get down with my woman, that ain't right!

You hollarin' and cussin', you wanna fight!!

Don't do me no darn favor,

I don't know karate, but i know ka-razy!!!! (yes we do!!)

I knew a kid in high school that was a black belt in Karate. He was always going on about how tough he was. He got his ass beat in front of a Coldstone by a kid that was 3 years younger than him. And since the kid was 3 years younger he was also a lot smaller. The Karate kid had to go to the hospital because of his injuries.

I only ever made it to green belt so read it and weep.

Studied privately Shaolin for years, when it first came to the states inthe late 80's till about 2000 when my master passed away of old age. Work out 3 days a week 1 1/2 hours per session mostly circuit training and light running. Thermogenics and low protein lean muscle supplements, vitamin junky.

If you dont know what shoalin is it is the passive for of kung fu used as protection rather then harm- but dont be fool makes you a beast.... But i am a peace loving guy

I Lift, and run. I focus on all of my main muscle groups (I.E. legs, chest, bi's, tri's, back, and so on..) I run about 1-2 miles everyday... staying in shape for college football and the Army cause my senior season ended a while ago (on a somewhat good note though... we went to the superbowl, but ended up losing 7-0)

This Is great, I didn't realize so many guys did do Martial Arts in this unit.

I do a 2-hour workout session every day but Sunday, Which starts and ends with stretching, Then i bench, curl, push ups, sit ups, Chin/Pull Ups, Squats, crunches, bicycle kicks, diamond push ups, flutter kicks (4-count). Then i also alternate everyday running 1,2, or 3 miles on my toes each day, and end 25m 50m 100m sprints.

I also do Technique training 3 times a week, using either a 300lb punching bag, or a Speed Bag on high tension bungee cords. (It hurts badly)

Magoo..... I'm not bashing Karate.... I'm bashing AKA.... The American Karate Association. I guarantee you that kid learned Karate from a Dojo sponsored by the AKA. Real Karate is much different then what they teach.... As you saw a street fighter can tear those kids apart.... They teach people to hit and jump back.. and in their tournaments they break people apart when they get clinched. Its sad that they have done that to Karate. But with no doubt their are people that practice real Karate in the U.S. and it is a great Martial Art.

Great to hear from the community of this!!!!

I was talking about my super bowl dumbass... and don't talk about the pats game -.-

I'd rather you don't call people a dumbass when you're talking about your small town game. Evidently, we were concerned with the actual Super Bowl, since it is a Trademarked name.

Quite ignorant, unwarranted, and rude.
