Unfortunately, I bet this is to drive more teams to make more money so MLB can make more money. While the Wild Card is kinda nice, 2 of them seems to make playoffs less special. That being said, if the M's ever get back into it, and win the 2nd spot, I'll be a huge fan of this new system.

yes unfortunately. That's why I love watching college sports, you know that they at least have something to play for and are representing their school. Rival games too
