Im not sure what would cost because i got mine for free from a friend or if it will even fit that pc. the card its self is absolutely absurdly huge. Nvidia 8800gtx i run most games maxed out at about 100 fps. its a little bit old so i imagine a used one isn't to expensive

Here is a helpful site where you can compare your current GPU to others and chart the rise in FPS you will get.

http://www.graphicscardbenchmarks.com/page/fps

As far as picking a card that will work with your computer you'll need to post your motherboard specs in order to know what PCI e slots you have, (generally all PCI e generations are backwards compatible with each other but older mobos sometimes wont have a BIOS update for newer card slots) but most likely you'll do fine with any 2.0 or 2.1 slot card.

Most any card you decide to get should be available from a UK based distributor such as the sites you listed.

Couple of things.

First, what is the maximum resoltuion of your monitor? That will dictate what level of card you should get.

Secondly, the 78xx series from AMD right now just isn't worth it. You are paying more for less performance than a 69xx.

I've only checked out the 7850 OC. Same price of a 560ti but as fast as a 570.

Presumed rest of series would be as good.

I'd start first with your desired price range and the model of your motherboard. If you dont know where to find it post the make and model of your computer (ex: HP Pavilion xxx or Dell Inspiron xxx or other make and model).

After that it will be easy to help find the right card.

Ok so your mobo model is: Foxconn A7VMX-K

That board only has a PCI e x16 slot which is why your current card (is a PCI e 2.0 x16 card) works with no problems. Although because your motherboard only has the 1.0 slot any card higher than 2.0 (2.1, 3.0) will most likely not work.

This leaves you with 2 main options as i see it:

1. Buy a GPU that is also a 2.0 slot but newer and better than your current.

2. Buy an even newer card than option 1 (since most all even fairly new cards are 2.1 or higher now) as well as a new

motherboard that has a PCI e 2.0 x16 slot instead of the 1.0 slot you currently have

After some browsing on newegg (for reference purposes, we can pick a different vendor once the card is chosen) i have found that all the AMD Radeon HD 6000 and 7000 series are 2.1 or higher, but there are several Nvidia GeForce GTX 500 that are 2.0 cards and would work on your current motherboard as well as deliver a dramatic performance difference over your current GPU.

The easiest option would most likely be to go with one of the GTX 500 cards (less invasive than a new mobo installation)

I recommend: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814130625

Its a solid card with a good rep and is worlds away from your current GPU's specs as well as its decently priced at $130

Something else to keep in mind is your 350W power supply. You will need to upgrade to at least 450W or more to run the new card, unlike the GPU though finding a new PSU with the right watts will be easy and can be done for around $50.

First off, we can't get a video card that is going to be overkill for a monitor.

Cast, we need to find out the resolution of your monitor. If you right click on your desktop, you'll get a few options. Hopefully, screen resolution will be one of them (it is for Vista and 7). If you are using Windows XP, you may need to select Properties.

What you will then look for is the maximum supported resolution your monitor can run.

Is your computer screen a wide-screen? Is it an LCD? You'll typically run into resolutions of 1440x900, 1680x1050, or 1920x1080 (HDTV Resoltion).
